Gang, I've got a hell week coming up -- have to finish a 100+ page report, with editing and annexes. I think I have to declare hiatus until this weekend, hopefully Sunday but possibly Monday. Don't normally like to do that, but I'm transitioning between jobs and I absolutely have to get this done (and done well) before I start the new thing. So, need a few days. See you in about a week.

A lot of us are badly injured right now -- maybe we should try to scare the thing off, or something. Maybe we can talk to it?
I mean, if we have to fight it, we have to, but is there a chance that we can talk to it?

-- Now in this particular case, the creature was fixed at Hostile, and there wasn't much y'all could do about that. However, if it had been open to discussion, you had two characters shooting at it while another was trying to talk!
Point being: going forward, you probably want to coordinate on this stuff before acting. PBP tends to encourage an "every man for himself" style of play, because talking stuff out first takes time and slows down a game that is already slow. But failure to cooperate is going to lead at a minimum to wasted actions. (At worst it's going to get y'all killed.)

Initiative macro, just copy paste the following:
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
[spoiler=Initiative]
[dice=Balek]1d20+2[/dice]
[dice=Constantine]1d20+2[/dice]
[dice=Haruka]1d20+1[/dice]
[dice=Osei]1d20+1[/dice]
[dice=Takka]1d20+2[/dice]
[/spoiler]
It will look like this:
Balek: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Constantine: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Haruka: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Osei: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Takka: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

And, BTW, to create and produce a macro of your own, you just have to OOC tag any bracket in the dice tags (I ooc'd the opening bracket below and in the previous post, you'll notice they are blue above). Just type without the spaces below -- e.g.,
[ ooc ] [ [ / ooc ] dice=Blah]1d20[/dice]
That refrains from the forums assuming the first bracket is part of the opening dice tag. However, that OOC-ness doesn't carry over in copy-paste, so that allows the post parsing to function normally and produce the dice rolls.

Anyone heard from Takka?
BTW - what's the plan here? Do we want to attempt to fight this thing, head on or try to retreat? If retreat, we don't really know the lay of the land, so to speak. But, we are all injured, most of us quite a bit. We don't really know how injured this thing is, except that it's damaged:
It doesn't have wings, and has obviously taken a lot of damage from the fall.
For what it's worth, the reason Osei fired (without discussion) is that he was attempting to draw the fiend off of Felice. He further assumed that since it was a half fiend, it most likely fell from above with us (thus the injuries) which means it was involved in the attack on Kenabres, making it a definite enemy - unwilling to parley. Could have been wrong, but luckily, not this time!

That's true, but standard procedure is to notify the rest of the group in advance.
On that note, I will be out of town most of this weekend - the launch that was delayed earlier in the year is taking place. If we happen to not blow up on the launchpad, I'll post a video for your space-stuff enjoyment (or amusement, if we explode).

I'M BACK IN ACTION!
Hey, everybody, really sorry about disappearing like that. Let's just say a series of both fortunate and unfortunate RL events conspired to take me offline for a good long while. However, I have things back under control and should be able to resume play (at least 1 post a day, maybe more)!
Give me a little bit to catch up on things and I can possibly rejoin the team, if you still have some room. <:)

Welcome back, Takka. Glad all is okay.

Also, is Takka an Oracle now, or has retraining yet to happen? (The answer will help dictate how he handles things next...)
You can switch now if you want to; certainly you've been through a big enough shock to justify a major transformation. If you want to stay a cavalier, an opportunity for another mount will appear. I'm good either way.

RL diversion: not a full complement of pictures, but here are a few of some of the launches.
The super tall red/white rocket, in particular, was a two stager that easily broke Mach 2 and the dart extender on the top of the second stage was projected to ~27,000 meters (~88,560 feet) - not quite space, but we're getting closer. We also deployed a cubesat into the atmosphere to test the deployment mechanism.
Was a fun day, lots of good flights, no explosions on the pad. (Yay and/or boo?)
EDIT: Added one photo from last weekend, in which an associated lab tested a pulsed plasma thruster in the upper atmosphere. Nice earth curvature seen.

Okay, so - how do we want to handle The Laurine Situation?
She's an Abyssal bloodline sorcerer, maybe Aberrant (maybe cross-blooded), and is completely in tune with this chunk of the Worldstone. Is that dangerous for us? She seemed to be fearful of turning into a monster, and had some "good" inclinations. At the same time, this chunk of the stone is worrisome as it could push her to fully embrace the nature of her gifts - chaos, evil and all. Corruption/redemption is the name of the game, yes?
Do we just allow her to keep the stone? Do we attempt to wrest it away? If someone has a silver tongue, perhaps they could talk her down. Do we trust traveling with her/sleeping with her on watch?
If we get the stone away from her, what do we do with it? Osei would *love* to study the stone, but is simultaneously wary of the Abyssal ties. I don't think "just leaving it behind" is an option, either - could definitely fall into the wrong hands.
Thoughts?

I can try a (short-term) protection from chaos spell if we decide we need to separate her from it. Balek would like to just get rid of the thing -- it can't possibly be a good idea to bring it along, but we probably can't destroy it.
But getting into a fight with someone we want to help protect should be a last resort.

Osei did call out the situation with Laurine, but I'm not sure what distances are involved, situations with your character's concentration, how well voice carried, etc.
I thought about Protection from Evil, too, but I wonder if she's not really controlled by it - rather it just "feels like home" to her. Good point about the Prot from Evil from before the fall - but at 1 minute/level would it still be active?
I'm afraid if any of us have it in our possession, there will be a constant battle for our wits/souls/minds (many saving throws. wow. such natural 1s). Maybe Laurine is the best to handle it? Then again, is it right to condemn her to be Frodo, so to speak?
