One thing, you may be slightly too kind. I suffer from not wanting to kill my players too and its something that can serve a story and create just as memorable of moments as the epic win.
In what ways if I can ask? I know towards the end, there where just somethings that where (either literally or practically) impossible with the remaining party make-up, so I avoided an optional encounter that think would have been a striaght TPK, and didn't really add anything to the story.
I had also had plans for the Goblin that was acting sick to literally explode if it took damage, (but you did only subdual), because it had swallowed a few alchemist fires. I was really wanting to do that one, though, but circumstances just didn't play out that way.
Personally, my main issues with this scenario are that it contains a lot of "suppossed" threats, but there is actually no punishment for breaking them. Being detected by the many eyes of the Winter Witches, ok, nothing actually happens. Make it a little late or run out of food, ok, there are other thing you can do on the way and even go through a town. That and it really doesn't sem Pathfinder worthy to me at all, but much more of a story meant to entertain the DM (in a TT game) than that great for the babysitter players.

Fair enough! I had just meant that there were a couple of times I felt like Grundle should have died and barely squeaked by. The next thing should have killed him...but he made it!
Maybe it was just luck of the rolls and I was reading it wrong but it felt like a tad of GM fiat that kept him alive.
But again...I had a blast and let me know what you're next game is...I wanna join!

In all honesty, it could also be that a lot of the time I came back to the game with a fresh feel, whereas in a TT game, verything happens so quickly. So rather than thinking "Ok, I hit him last round, so I'll break up the attacks a bit this time" it was more random, as last rounds actons happened a day or two ago.
I do feel like a lot of scenario's rally fail at lo level play, where it is really jut rocket tag. Whoever ges first in init, just kind of wins, as most of the NPC encunters are one shot kills.
