Grundle eats his food loudly and sloppily. He makes appropriate comments at times in the conversation, but he is more interested in his food.

When he's done, he belches loudly and says, "Ahh. Thank'ee kindly for that. Was starvin'! Anyhow...Han, one of us should check them gobby's for any lastin' injuries. The Society sure wouldn't be happy to lose anymore."

"Perhaps you are right. I will do it." Han rolls his eyes at Grundle's lack of subtlety. He stands up and makes his way to the storage room.

Enrick stands quickly and holds up a hand as if saying wait, "They shall be fine. My man is instructed to guard them. Come tell me about this battle at the tower you mentioned."

The Exchange

Male Tien Dan Buccaneer7/Lorewarden1 - HP: 30/68 - AC 23/21/T:13/FF:19 - Perception -1 Fort +8, Reflex +9, Will +7(+2 versus poisons/drugs +4 versus alcohol) - CMB +11, CMD :23

"Grundle can tell it better than me, my memory of it is a little fuzzy. It is part of my duty to make sure, will not be gone long."

Shadow Lodge

||CORE Rotating DM ||Fingerprints||King Xeros ||Serpent's Skull||

Enrik's expression changes. The brotherly warrior masque drops like he is discarding a cloak, and he beams with disappointment. “Freyr Darkwine is no king,” he says. “It is not for him to erase a weregild of a thousand years to convenience the Pathfinders. Kill us all if you must, but you’ll not drag us before his justice. Those goblins will die like the monsters they are!

Init rolls please.

Grundle stands up and draws out his flails, swinging them slowly. "Trust me...this ain't the route yeh wanna take. Yeh feed me a hot meal and I'm grateful fer that, but I will kill the lot o' yeh."

Stand up and draw weapons.

No worries my friend. I hope you feel better. So close to the end. . .
From not far behind you on the other side of the wall, a prayer to Gorum can be heard, followed by footsteps heading back your direction. Enrik likewise draws a battleaxe as he rushes at Grundle, believing himself the far better warrio and able to easily handle both himself.

Enrik attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

Well one more hit won't kill you and he does have to roll above average to hit you. But in any case, Han will avenge you.

Shadow Lodge

||CORE Rotating DM ||Fingerprints||King Xeros ||Serpent's Skull||

I'm confussed. Is Grundle down? I'll also remind everyone that in one of the earlier fights, you guys did find a potion. I forget exactly who found it, but the party can use it for free.

Well, it's your turn next and you could down him with your next hit.If you don't, Grundle could drink the potion next turn.

Liberty's Edge

Yeah, I was assuming the next hit takes it's toll like the first! But yes, I also have another potion of my own. But Grundle's pissed and wouldn't drink a potion when he could crushinate!

Shadow Lodge

||CORE Rotating DM ||Fingerprints||King Xeros ||Serpent's Skull||

The battle priest full out runs to get to the battle, turning the corner just as Enrik tries to swing again.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 And Grundle fights on, for one more round at least. . .

Well if you drink a potion now Grundle, it is unlikely he'll drop you before you get another turn.

Han tries his best to bring down Enrik before he brings down Grundle.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

1d10 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 Much better

Shadow Lodge

||CORE Rotating DM ||Fingerprints||King Xeros ||Serpent's Skull||

Holy crap :)

Smashing right through his shield's defence, the blow nearly drops the warrior where he stands.

Actually, since Grundle goes first, that blow might drop him if Grundle hits.

Okay, had some hp. He's still up though.

Shadow Lodge

||CORE Rotating DM ||Fingerprints||King Xeros ||Serpent's Skull||

Sorry I misunderstood. He is still up but since Grundle actually acts before your last hit, if he hits it should drop Enrik, which will technically be you dropping Enrik. I though you where saying this guy has a lot of HP to survive that hit.

With a cry of frustration and rage, Grundle takes a small step back, pulls out a potion, and drinks it.

The battle-priest turns the corner, drawing both a greatsword and holy symbol. Seeing his commander is not doing well, he Channels energy.

Enrik, feeling a little better, chops at Han, who so severely wounded him just a moment before. . .

5 foot step back into flanking and attack.

I'm assuming Grundle drops him.

Seeing Enrik dispatched, Han goes after the battle-priest.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

1d10 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Shadow Lodge

||CORE Rotating DM ||Fingerprints||King Xeros ||Serpent's Skull||

That is correct, Grundle's first swing brings hm to his knees while the second removes him from the mortal coil utterly.

Seeing his commander fall, the battle-priest drops his greatsword, saying "I surrender. There is no glory or honor in this and I had no part in his vengence, and I don't want to fight you now that he is dead. I swear, I was was only following orders, and now am free of that. If you hurry to the southern building, there are other men waiting for the word to slaughter the Goblins. If they hear nothing soon, they have orders to do it without him, though.".

I'm going to break combat for a moment, (keeping init) and just tell me what you want to do at this point.

Fun fact:
The chaplin was suppossed to be female. I didn't notice I used He and Him until it was too late and didn't want to confusse anyone, so just kept "her" a male. :)

That does add an interesting twist.

"We must hurry, Grundle." Han will leave for the soutern building.

I've gone ahead and reported this scenario (for tomorrow). So Can I have your email addresses (you can PM me) and I can send out a Chronicle Sheet. I'm not saying we are done just yet, I'm just making sur I do that just in case.

Grundle, breathing heavily, stows his flails. He bends down and grabs the greatsword with both hands and points it at the battle priest, "Wise...*puff*...*pant*...choice. I will kill you. Tomorrow if not today, or the next day. You've earned a respite for surrendering. Run."

With a growl he heads after Han, ready for blood.

The Chaplin, points you in the direction, then walks away. After a moment to catch your breath you head towards the place he pointed, and as you step towards the door, you see the Goblins in a cage with two guards playing with them and mocking them. The Goblin that Grundle nearly beat to death is awake, but still very injured. The others are cowering in a corner, trying to avoid being stabbed by longspears and fleeing from one side to the other as the two guards poke at them.

Grundle levels the great sword at him and says, "I will kill you. But I will let you run today. Enrik is dead and your priest of battle fled with his skirts."

Shadow Lodge

The final guard does, with a near suicidal thirst for vengence, dos in fact see the light, and drops his weapon, knowing that either way, he wouldn't be able to slay the goblins.

The Cleric you had met earlier, actually having no part in the slaughter other than being caught in the wrong place and with the wrong people, sends word to the Society, and you are able to make the meet on time. They take th goblins, applauding your work and heavily imply your mental fortitude for completing the mission.

As is normally the case, a Venture Captain takes a detailed report of your exploites, as well as an informal debreifing, asuring you that your duties will be printed in an upcoming Pathfinder Chronicles, and that your names shall be legend.

After a few days well deserved break, they return you home via the same methods you had arrived, giving you a swift glimpse of the various Lodges throughout the world if your travels had not braught you there before (they surely will some day. . .).

Back in Absolam, you are welcomed as returned heroes to the Pathfinder causes, and allowed a short rest,. . . before your nex mission, that is. . .

Thus ends the tale of the Frostfur Captives, but it is only the begining of much greater legends yet to come. It is ideed, a brave, new world. Rife for exploration, or if you prefere, plundering.

Until nexxt time,. . . same bat-time, same bat-channel. . .

I've sent out the Chronicle Sheet to the Email's I have, reported the event, and also PM'd the Faction Missions. I've went ahead and closed the game, but feel free to coninue to post if you want.

I would like to know, (honestly) what you thought of the game, both the scenario itself and how I ran it. I highly encourage that people write reviews of scenarios (as players) as well.

Feel free to ask any questions you mght have had about how or why something worked the way it did or just make comments. I personally would like to hear feedback so I can improve as a GM.

The one thing I have little control over is my frequency of posting, especially earlier on, though I do think I have gotten a lot better in the last few months.

What else did you like or not like?

Well it's hard to be objective since the mod was a little marred by people leaving. Granted it meant that I got to do everything, it lacked the party interaction because of it.

But I liked the map links you did and the premise of it is different.

You did a great job. I knew the moments (as a fellow GM) where you appreciated our ideas and gave some GM fiat to us. You were fair. You adjudicated quite well.

This feels like a hard scenario for both the players and the GM. Kudos to you for adjusting on the fly to our sudden party departures.

One thing, you may be slightly too kind. I suffer from not wanting to kill my players too and its something that can serve a story and create just as memorable of moments as the epic win.

But thank you and I wouldn't hesitate to join another of your tables!
