"Fascinating. Who would do such a thing?" Her pose is pensive, finger tapping her chin.
"You never were very good at math, either. Assuming your companions are more than glorified bodyguards, that is 29 gold each, if you are to split it. Of course, you having less gold to spend is likely in the best interest of Korvosa..."

Terri Riverrun |

Sorry for not responding sooner.
Terri, who'd been wearing a worried expression since this meeting began, frowns at the wizard.
"Keep your coin Cassandra," she says in a flat voice, "I'll cover the cost of the spell, and I will create any piece of artwork you want, if you accompany us to the river. If you had been paying attention, you might have noticed the symbol I wear," the priestess points to the silver symbol hanging from the chain around her neck.

DM Crispy |

The woman looks at Terri with amusement. "And who is this little thing who crows so loudly? A Shelynite, I see. I'm not quite sure what you hope to prove with that, as every religion from Iomedae to Norgorber has mercenaries who work for coin, the faith included. Still, as long as your gold is good..."
She seems to think for a few moments, then nods. "A full portrait of me, little Shelynite, and you have a deal. Just let me know when you are ready." She extends her hand out for the coinage agreed upon.

Terri Riverrun |

Gotta double check, but she may not actually have enough.

"For the record, I got top marks in my mathematics and engineering courses. I specialize in teleportation magic. You can't do that without being able to do geometry and calc in your head."

Wednesday Daud |

Uh, Cass, you also have the 200g Daud gave you.

Cassandra Wagner |

I completely missed that you gave me gold. Why did you give me gold? I didn't earn any.

Wednesday Daud |

*checks*
Ah, okay, I see what happened, Cass was haggling so that's why Wednesday gave it to her but since Terri paid he would have given it to her instead, missed that.

Amira Oenestria |

Amira studies the woman in stony silence.
Sense motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Terri Riverrun |

Just checked and it appears that she has enough.
"Very well, I agree to those terms and I'll arrange a meeting with you about the portrait after we resolve this."
Terri pulls out her coin purse and counts out the payment. Once that's done, she puts it back and turns to the others.
"Shall we go, then?"

Wednesday Daud |

Wednesday nods with a shrug. "Unless Briar has anyone else she rather visit while we're here."

Wednesday Daud |

"But of course, I always go down first." Daud responds with an equal smirk.

DM Crispy |

The group proceeds to the bank of the Jeggare river, the preening wizardess in tow. She turns her nose up at the weeds and mud close to the water's edge, but honors her word all the same.
"Remember, 2 hours each. Beyond that, and you'll be lying down their with the wreckage for someone else to find." With that, she launches into a complicated spell-casting routine, ending it by touching each of you in turn. "There you go. Be careful, you have a portrait to finish." With that, the woman turns and heads back to the Acadamae, leaving the five alone.

Tolenn |

Tolenn allows Terri to pay the insufferable professor, seeing that it seems to mean alot to her.
She walks along and manages to keep a straight face in light of Cassandra and Daud's innuendo, but does have the grace to blush just a little bit.
Arriving at the shore, she accepts the wizard's enchantment, then divests herself of her chainmail, only prepared to enter the water wearing the leather undercoat.
"Thank you for your help, may Saranae bless your days." she says gently to the woman.

Cassandra Wagner |

"Ew." Cassandra groans to Daud. "Like, no thank you."
Then she strips down to her shortclothes. Her belt and spell component pouch are strapped back on. So, too, is her grappling hook. She knows it'll be useless underwater but a mithral grappling hook will go missing if she just lays it on the shore. She does her best to hide her clothes and then dives into the water.

Wednesday Daud |

"Why? Never had someone pleasure you?" he asks as he arches an eyebrow inquisitively.
Nodding at the woman when she gives the time limit Daud will take off his shirt and boots before wading into the water.

Amira Oenestria |

Stripping out of her armor she stores it, along with the majority of her weapons, keeping her belt, starknives, bolas and kunia on her person, strapped over her smallclothes.
With a shrug she dives in, preparing for whatever lies below.

Cassandra Wagner |

I'll cast light on a couple of different items people are holding/carrying and renew as needed.

Terri Riverrun |

Good thing two of us can cast it then. :)
Terri's cheeks burn as she follows suit and strips to her small-clothes, packing her armor and clothing into the satchel she had. Her belt returns to her waist, since it carried her wand and coin purse. The only other things she takes are her glaive and her holy symbol. Before diving in, she bestows a blessing of light on the blade of her glaive and jumps in the river after the others.

Tolenn |

Do sunrods work underwater ? The description says the glow...not burn
-Posted with Wayfinder

Terri Riverrun |

It's up to Crispy, but I think they would. It'd be like having a glowstick.

DM Crispy |

I concur, they would work. There are already two light sources, though. What's with all the girls getting naked? :p
The group wades into the water, the cold Jeggare quickly flowing over their heads. True to the Professor's word, they immediately start to breathe the water as if it were air. Working their way out, they keep steadily descending into the depths, having gone at least 20 yards down. The water is murky, since the sun does not delve brightly this far down, so the only real light is coming from the party's sources.
After a careful 10 minutes of searching, the party finally sees the outline of a hull in the distance, a jagged pyre of rock splitting the sunken vessel into two separate pieces.
Will have a map up later.

Have you ever tried to swim in clothes? It's hard as all hell.
Also would Darkvision work down here?

DM Crispy |

Map updated!
The ship slowly comes into view in the gloom, the ship split in twain by a rock outcropping. The bow juts upward, easily accessible, but the larger stern area lies directly against the rock shelf. A 10 foot square grate covers a cargo entrance, while a smaller cover obviously is the more mundane entrance for two-legged creatures. A captain's cabin juts towards you from the stern, the door also closed.

Cassandra Wagner |

Knowlege (engineering) for any information that could be useful, such as dangerous sections or useful entrance points: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17

Wednesday Daud |

Daud will swim over to the door to the captain's cabin and attempts to open it.
lol of course those posts would go out at the same time.

Tolenn |

Tolenn swims up behind Daud, and grabs onto a nearby ship railing, waiting to back him up when he opens the door.

Wednesday Daud |

Strength: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Terri Riverrun |

Terri follows Daud, providing him and Tolenn with light. When the door fails to budge, she tries to speak.
Looked at the spell description, but it says nada about being able to talk.

Terri Riverrun |

That works
"Could we hack our way in?" Terri asks the others.

Wednesday Daud |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Daud sees Terri's lips moving but can't quite make what, if anything, she's saying.

Wednesday Daud |

Okies.
Nodding back to the priestess Daud will draw his cleaver and begin hacking at the door to get it free.

Amira Oenestria |

While they work on opening the door, Amira keeps her eyes on their surroundings, wary of any surprises.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

DM Crispy |

As Wednesday begins to hack at the door (a process made very slow and clumsy since every hack has to fight the viscosity of the liquid around it), Amira looks around to make sure things are staying calm elsewhere. Beyond the bass booms of the cleaver connecting with the door, there is nothing to be heard, and nothing is seen within the soft glow of the light the adventurers currently carry.
It'll take Wednesday at least 5 minutes to hack the thing enough to get the portal open. Anyone doing anything in the interim?

Cassandra Wagner |

Cassandra closes her eyes and chants the syllables she learned at the Acadamae, sliding her consciousness into the realm of magic. She opens them and explores the wreckage, looking for glimmerings of enchantments, spells and mana.
I'll spend the time looking over the wreck as best I can for signs of magic on it.
