Wednesday Daud |

Pulling himself up Daud will move up next to the rooftop.
So just 1 block I guess to get into block 2 since I don't think I could reattempt the checks again, correct?

DM Crispy |

You can reattempt the checks as many times as you like. However, it is Tolenn's turn, then Trinia's. We'll delay Tolenn, so Trinia will go. Then everyone can go again.
Trinia glances at the summoner with something akin to panic, thrashing her arms about in what can only be a spellcasting gesture.
Zart Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Zart begins to double over with an uncontrollable urge to laugh, the whole situation seeming funny to him all of a sudden. His brow furrows, and he shakes his head, fighting through the magical compulsion. The woman sees him continuing the chase and looks as though she is tearing up.
Everyone up!

Wednesday Daud |

Okies.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Keeping an eye on his footing he will move across the bridge towards Trinia.

Tolenn |

Tolenn, realizing that with her armour on, she will kill herself if she attempts to follow Zart and Daud, looks around for a quick way down to surface level...
Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Zart the Lost |

Hi! Back to regular posting now. Hope you didn't miss me too much. ;-)
I take it Zart's previously posted actions take place now, right? The Zoog zooms ahead. Zart moves forwards one card to be within range and casts grease, reflex save DC 17 for Trinia or fall prone.

DM Crispy |

Tolenn finds no quick point of getting to the ground, beyond falling. Which kind of defeats the purpose. Since the paladin is still on the original rooftop, she could always just go back down the stairs.
That is correct, Zart.
The zoog, not trying to impede anyone's progress, nimbly runs past the blond woman, awaiting her further down the rooftops. Meanwhile, Zart carefully progresses forward, taking a bit of butter and going through the motions of spellcasting, causing a slick grease patch to appear under Trinia.
Reflex: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
The cute blond slips and slides, but manages to maintain her footing as you continue to chase her.

Gaius Tindareus |

Is Trinia's position correct on the doc? She is closer, right?
Gaius again takes his time, trying to find the best route of pursuit.
Full round to use perception, hidden shortcut: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

Gaius Tindareus |

Oh, I see. I was reading it wrong.
Gaius drops the tanglefoot bag and tries to grab the fugitive.
grapple: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Zart the Lost |

Hey all! Just thought I'd check in. I know it's not my turn yet. While I'm here, I had a look at the chase again. The doc still shows Zart and Zoog at their last location. By my count, Zart should be forward 1 card, the Zoog should be forward 3 cards (ahead of Trinia). No rush, but it may help others decide on their actions. Is it just Pyron who hasn't gone in round 2? Sorry for all the questions! Mostly just wanted to post something to bump the thread.

Zart the Lost |

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. Also, I know it must have made things tricky for anyone who didn't read the thread every hour or so like I did, but all the same I miss Wednesday's romantic romp.

DM Crispy |

Daud gets started, moving swiftly across a hidden bridge he perceives, while Zart tries unsuccessfully to trip the blonde woman up with a well-placed spell. Meanwhile, the zoog darts forward, past the woman, and Trinia's eyes widen in terror. She is panicked as Gaius' long strides and nimble movement bring him next to her, but she is alert enough to dodge away from his grasp.
She practically begs a nearby group of people on the rooftops for help.
"Please let me through!"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
They do not react quickly enough, however, and she remains where she is.
Party up!

Wednesday Daud |

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Seeing Trinia elude both Gaius and Zart Daud will begin to hustle through the makeshift obstacles, his adrenaline feeding his instincts rather than a wariness of making a wrong step.

Pyron Firehide |

strength: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 acrobatics: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (11) - 2 = 9
Both just short by one.

Summon Monster II |
"மீண்டும் அங்கு இயக்கவும் மற்றும் நீ அவளை ஒரு நடத்த பெற முடியும் என்று பார்க்க அவள் எங்கே அவளை வைத்து!*" Zart yells to the Zoog.
The Zoog rushes back to where Trinia stands (not sure if I'd need to roll to move back two, but I'm assuming I can do the usual "move action to move one" in reverse).
The Zoog then attempts to grapple Trinia.
Zoog grapple vs Trinia: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 -- If this is a "free" grapple, and it succeeds, then the Zoog will also try to pin this round.

Zart the Lost |

Noting that the tiny Zoog will probably need help very soon, Zart moves forwards to where the crowd of people are and begins casting something in the dark tongue of shadowmancy:
"καλέσει τέρας λύκος" -- summon monster I, (shadow pony), standard action to begin a full round cast
It may not be useful for many things, but the shadow pony can move as fast as anything I can summon, and it's got quite the strong jaws for grabbing. It's almost as good as the shadow dolphin - but definitely better when out of water.
If you struggle to imagine a pony grappling someone (I'm thinking it'll just grab onto some clothes with its mouth), let me know and I'll let the dog out.

Wednesday Daud |

Nah I'm good, I watch MlP:FiM. Grappling can ensue.

Tolenn |

Seeing that there was no quick way down to the street level, Tolenn watches her friends converge on the scared woman.
"Be gentle, my friends, be gentle.

DM Crispy |

The zoog backtracks, leaping back and joining Gaius in surrounding the woman. As the woman slips through Gaius' grasp, the zoog places itself behind her legs, and she falls down in a heap on the rooftop. Seeing the summoner and now a pony-thing appear, she does not attempt to rise, but instead breaks down in tears.
"I didn't do it, I swear!"

Wednesday Daud |

"We know." Daud mutters out in between heavy breaths after having caught up with the runner.

Zart the Lost |

We know? asks Zart to himself, Unless I'm very much mistaken, she still is at the very least a suspect.
The pony stands tall over the situation, looking more or less like this:
(And probably giving Daud a bit of a broner)
"My dear, you are indeed in quite a bit of trouble. We don't have much time to go over the details of it here, but we need to take you back to the castle," perhaps seeing fear in her eyes at this, Zart adds, "You have friends there. Friends who wish to see the trial done properly so that you can be exonerated of this crime. Field Marshall Cressida Croft believes that you deserve to have your truths heard. She has even consented to allowing magic to determine the truth to your situation. We will smuggle you in that you may be given a proper trial - in preference to a lynching."
Zart pauses, both to let her answer and for the sounds of the distant mob to sink in.
Do we have the means to disguise her? I can only disguise myself. Alternatively, if she's small enough, we could enfold her in Raamanti's cloak.

Wednesday Daud |

Draping his coat over the girl he'll turn back to Zart. "We're taking her to Croft. If we take her to the palace she will be executed."

Zart the Lost |

Isn't Croft located in the castle? I know about the chance of summary execution, hence the disguise / under cover thing.

Wednesday Daud |

Defintely a yes on the disguise, but I was just under the assumption that the guard HQ was a separate building from the castle.

Pyron Firehide |

When Pyron finally reaches them, he will assist in disguising her.

DM Crispy |

The Queen resides in Castle Korvosa, while Croft is stationed at the Citadel. It is indeed a separate location.
The woman cries all the harder. "Sure!...This...Croft...might...want...to...give...me...a...fair...
trial...but...the...Queen...wants...my...head! Who...do...you...think...WILL WIN???" She bows her head, not helping you with any of your attempts, but not obstructing, either. The fight is completely out of her as she sobs.

Zart the Lost |

My bad!
"Sorry, Daud, of course I meant the citadel not the castle. We should still disguise Trinia," Zart consider's the girl's question, "I do not know who will win, but we will try everything we can to make sure you have a fair trial. It is not just you who depends upon it, but the whole city. We cannot have chaos rule, not at any time, but certainly not at this time. Now, let's get you back to our safe house. How good are you at disguising yourself?"
Zart encourages Trinia and the rest of the party to move along before the mob closes in.

Gaius Tindareus |

Croft is fair, and will give you more of a chance than the Queen, or the oncoming mob for that matter. Here, Gaius takes off his armored coat and hands it to her.
Put this on and cover your face. Keep your head down and stay quiet. I can draw the mob away for now to give you all a window of escape. I'll meet you at the citadel.
He speaks a few secret words and runs a hand down the length of his face. As he does so his visage transforms, mirroring Trinia's own.
Let's see if the mob can tell the difference.
Disguise check: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
Forgot to say--cast Disguise Self

Tolenn |

Tolenn calls over to the others as they disguise Trinia, "Keep her over there, take the rooftops as far as you can go. I'll descend back through the tenement and send the mob off in the opposite direction if need be."

Wednesday Daud |

Daud will put a hand on Trinia-Gaius' shoulder as he hands him his coat instead. "Only if you have to. Don't go kicking the hornet's nest just for fun." With a nod to each of them and Trinia he will then head back over to Tolenn. "I'll let you do the talking then, I'm better at prodding the fireplace rather than pitting it out."

Gaius Tindareus |

Just to be clear, I was planning on gaining the mob's attention (from a relatively safe distance), running away (hence the need to remove my armored coat anyway), turning a corner and then just resuming my normal appearance while they run by, cartoon-style. That should buy the rest of you enough time to escape. Tolenn--are you intending to confront the mob?

Wednesday Daud |

lol my bad, that makes a lot more sense :3 we should really confer our plans more hehe.

Zart the Lost |

From Gaius' initial post, faux Trinia is happening unless we stop him. Zart isn't stopping him.
"Half your number offer to sacrifice themselves for someone they've never met, just like that?" Zart is incredulous, [b]"You truly are heroes, my friends. It is a pleasure to see you in action." I just hope you don't get me killed. Man, I wish Raamanti were here. It is so unusual that I need to face... difficulties... without him.
Zart will disguise Trinia, if she'll let him, but will strongly recommend just hiding her features beneath Gaius' armored coat until they're somewhere they can spend some time on it! (as per the disguise skill, the disguise action takes 1d3 × 10 minutes of work)
Zart disguising Trinia, look like someone else - no-one in particular (minor details only): 1d20 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 5 = 23

Wednesday Daud |

If Gaius is leading them on a snipe hunt then the best course would probably be to walk as swiftly but not hurriedly in the other direction.

Zart the Lost |

As per above, my vote is safe house first - hide her features under Gaius' coat for now.

Tolenn |

I was working under the assumption that Tolenn was by herself back on the the roof of Trinia's building, with Daud and Pyron nearby on the next building. Zart and Gaius were way ahead with Trinia, so therefor, Tolenn would have no idea what Gaius was planning....No biggee, jsut that mob would be converging on Trinia's building, so makes sense for others to continue from where Gaius/Trinia are and Tolenn to descend to the surface here...since she can't make the jump :)

Wednesday Daud |

Hmm so we go back to Trinia's building at which point faux Trinia makes an escape and the rest of the group makes away with the real Trinia. Regardless, Daud would have been in earshot of Tolenn so he would have returned to her when she made the suggestion.

Wednesday Daud |

Daud's with Tolenn, but yeah pretty much.

Wednesday Daud |

Guess we're in agreememt then?
