Korbin unlatches his familiar's bag, spilling a bit of sea water onto the floor by Grayst. The dwarf puts King Crab on his shoulder. "Boy is regeneratin', ain't dead. Should be up in a few minutes or so. Kill 'em Brin and we got a problem, boys in my care now." Korbin looks over to the doctor. "Get me what you got for improvin' his resistance to ghoulification. Now, or we'll have you here next to 'em. And I doubt you can regenerate."
Korbin's hair begins to wind around Grayst, subduing the body. The hair wraps around him tightly, and ties itself into knots. He throws a coil of rope out to the floor, and begins to tie him proper.
Tie Up, DC 36 to Escape. Checking Grayst, diagnosing with a Take-Ten Heal (Total 22) for how far gone he is, when his next check is, current ability score damage if I can determine those.
Korbin cuts the hair off from his body with a foot-long metal device. Slowly, his hair extends back out. Korbin examines the man and hopes that it isn't too late for intervention. "We can question the boy like a man 'stead of a ghost or ghoul. Ain'tcha s'posed to be heroes of Sandpoint?"

Rafael Morganis |

he might be regenning because he's already undead.... just a thought... also, you know the hair disappears when you cut it off right?, so it's not helping hold the fellow anymore ". Pieces cut from the witch’s elongated hair shrink away to nothing." to tie up with the rope, don't you have to roll your cmb, and that is the dc to escape? I'm just a little confused where the 36 came from.
Rafael watches the proceedings and stands by ready to put the fellow down again with a kick or two if he breaks free... his attacks won't kill Grayst, but can hurt him back to unconsciousness...

Brindolfin Cloudcap |

Brin replies sharply: "You aid a ghoul and cause risk to others, and we got problems. Turns out he could have killed everyone else here had eh wanted. So, if you unghoul him, then he lives. There are other innocents at stake, we can't spend time and resources nursing a ghoul. And attacking the staff is out, we are Heroes."

Korbin Steelsoul |

Right on the hair call, I was largely doing it for flavor. Regardless, tie up rules call for 20+my CMB, so 36. Correct me if anytihng is off, GM. And as he is unconscious, it is unopposed and don't call for Grapple to pin to tie up. As for if they are undead or not, probably, but it's not something I'd know. My previous check revealed late stages for ghoul fever, but not gone yet. Perhaps they passed, but it is OoC knowledge if so.
"If you or the others are worried for yerselves, then leave me with my patient. Ya found yerself a stubborn dwarf, and I ain't letting him die or ghoul without a fight. If you wanna stike him again, blade better go through my chest first." Korbin looks to Brin with an almost desperate look in his eyes. He had developed a respect for the half-giant over their brief adventures, but Korbin felt a need to halt this madness at least here. Korbin shifted his glance around the room. "Restoration potions, things for his health, anything you got hand 'em here."

Rafael Morganis |

"WHy not try a little holy water on him if anyone has any... or a channel to cause damage to undead... If he's not a ghoul yet, neither of those will hurt him... if he is undead, perhaps it will put a stop to the regeneration. Either way, it will resolve the confusion."
He pulls out a small bottle. "I happen to have some holy water on me... if he's still alive, it will only make him wet."
and I think the 'tie up' rules call for a die roll of d20 plus your cmb, I don't think you can take 20 on an opposed roll, which tying up is.

Brindolfin Cloudcap |

Brin nods. "Well, if you put the holy water on him, and he sizzles, he is an evil deadite. We should probably give Korbin a chance to unghoulify him first. If he can't be fixed, he can't be fixed. I wanted to come here first as I felt this lunatic was the primary concern. Whoever caused this, probably can make other ghouls. If this evil master can make ghouls faster than we can fix them, then saving this one condemns many others to become evil walking dead."
He turns to the asylum staff. "Get his files and anything that can help. We are permanently discharging this patient."
Brin wants to get moving. They had some answers, but then they also had more questions.

DM-Camris |

Rafael: At this point, spraying Holy Water on Grayst only gets him wet and unhappy, nothing else.
Korbin: With your skill and plenty of companion aid-another help, plus the peculiar abundance of heavy leather straps here in the asylum, you have no problem securing even the strength of a maddened proto-ghoul.
It's too late for Grayst. His transformation into a Ravenous Ghoul has gone too far.
It's not too late for Grayst. His transformation into a Ravenous Ghoul is not yet complete, awaiting only his consumption of human flesh.
It's not too late for Grayst. His transformation into a Ravenous Ghoul is not yet complete, awaiting only his consumption of human flesh.
Unless...
There are rumors of a cure.
One possibility is the hag coven who dwell in the Whisperwood to the south, who make an amusing practice of turning men into undead and back again.
Another is the Necromancer who experiments in the burial mounds of Leb's Tors to the East.
It's not too late for Grayst. His transformation into a Ravenous Ghoul is not yet complete, awaiting only his consumption of human flesh.

The orderlies just stood there with thuggish unconcern.
"Hey buddy, we don't work for you." They sneer.Doctor Habe scuttled backward until he hit the back wall.

"Well, it ain't pretty, but the boy ain't lost yet." The dwarf looks to his Crab, checking his diagnosis with the familar. The crab bubbles softly, agreeing. "Keep the boy from flesh and we can keep 'em steady."
King Crab Aid Another, Knowledge: 1d20 ⇒ 8

Korbin weighs his options for a cure. Hags and necromancers ain't too far and could fix this, but I hardly trust 'em far as I can throw 'em. There must be somethin'... King Crab bubbles, offering a solution to his master. Korbin pops up his brows, grinning slightly as he nods his head. "That'll work, me thinks.
"Short of killin' the boy, we gots another option. Find what did this to the boy, slay it, and keep Grayst on restoration in the mean time." Korbin smiles to Brin. "Full Ghoul is what we huntin'. Can all get behind a ghoul slayin', no? Save the boy, stop this happening to others, deliver a wee bit of Dwarven Justice?"
Nearest Temple we could have a Cleric sent here from? Does Sandpoint have a cleric good enough for that?

Brindolfin Cloudcap |

"If a good temple will take him, that would be good. They can take over his care. Let's go!! Temple first, ghoul maker second."
Brin reflects ominously: "If a good temple doesn't take him, that would be bad for the flesh eater."

Rafael Morganis |

With the matter of Grayst largely sorted, the dwarf remembered Midori had dropped unconscious over the fight. "Oh gods, forgive me, won'tcha?" Korbin's beard dances as he recites the words his patron had taught him.
Stabilize on Midori.
Korbin casts a second spell as she comes back to consciousness. "Ain't even seen a dwarven lass take hits like that before. Gods, on ya feet. Up for fightin' another, bigger ghoulie?" he says with a smile. The spell ends, and Midori's wounds begin to heal, the pain begins to alleviate.

Midori Masaki |

Midori sits up and says Thanks, all of you."
She then stands and walks over to her adversary, studying him. "You poor soul. You know, deep inside, that 'His Lordship' doesn't care about you or even me. We're all a means to an end. Help us find out what that end is."
She then turns to the holy folk in the group. Um, given his - illness, is there a possibility I'm infected now, too?"

DM-Camris |

When Korbin talks of taking Grayst to Sandpoint, Doctor Habe squeeks like a frightened mouse and scuttles around the corner to the southwest. You hear something like "...no, no, no, no I'll be ruined!" and the sound of footsteps on stairs.
The two massive orderlies interpose themselves between you and the exit to the north.
"Dis patient ain't goin nowhere. Doc says he stays." One ground out through misshapen teeth. They definitely seem threatening.
You know, these two resemble a couple of wanted posters you saw in the Sherrifs' office back in Sandpoint. A couple of Tiefling brother fugitives wanted in Cheliax for Racketeering, Murder and Breaking an Infernal Contract.

”My, I see the good Doctor’s concern. I suppose I must exert myself to prevent word of our experiments from getting out.” He spoke offhandedly.
Then his eyes fell on Brin and he became VERY interested.
”Is that a… half-giant? Marvellous! Be sure to take that one intact my patients! Smother him or something!” He said with delight. He actually rubbed his hands together in anticipation.
