As Erie slides behind the barricade, her arrow hits the orc in L5 solidly in the shoulder. He only roars and rips it out, snapping the shaft and throwing it to the ground.
Quodak's bolt flies true and slashes the Orc deeply along the side. As with the first orc, however, this injury only seems to make him angrier.

I'll be having to go soon, so I'll write out Quodak's actions for round 2 now. Sorry if this upsets your order, DM Caleth.
Unless the orc moves to close with Quodak, he will jump across the pit : 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 into I9. He will then fire his Mind bolt at the Orc again, with Deadly Aim: Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 damage 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 If the orc does close, Quodak will take a 5 foot step back if necessary, and shoot it. unless you want me to roll again, use the rolls above. Either way, I'd like to keep him in point-blank shot range, and preferrably 20 feet. A third option, for if the orc closes with Orion, by chance: jump to I9, then fire.

| Jeff MacDonald |
Unfortunately, I don't have anything long range available so I'm going to waste my nice initiative roll by delaying until they start to close. When they do I'll move to within 30' and give one of them the Evil Eye. (-2 AC for 8 rounds, DC 15 Will Save for 1 round.)
If I'm around when they move, I'll pick a target, otherwise target of opportunity, keeping someone between me and them. If Krathok closes, I'll follow him, otherwise down behind Kjolmar.

As the crowd cheers the first blood, the orcs shout something which might be Orcish or might just be them screaming in rage and charge.
The Orc from L5 runs at Kjolmar, answering his challange with an incoherent scream, throwing his club away to instead leap at Kjolmar gnashing the air with his fangs. 5 damage
The other orc vaults the barrier in front of him and charges Quodak, swinging his club, relatively sane compared to his companion, if sane is a word which can be applied to an enraged orc. He catches Quodak upside the head with his club. 12 damage (ouch)
The two humans advance in lockstep, clearly showing disciplined training and both jab their halberds towards Orion, one weapon is deflected by a shimmering in the air, but the other human missteps as he swings the halberd and topples into the pit, unable to catch the edge as he falls. You hear his body hit the floor below with a sickening thud. This turn of events amuses the crowd to no end.
The northerner looks up through his long hair and with a clatter of charms and bones in his braids casts a spell. A ray of energy lances out and works it's way through the barrier to surround Erie briefly, leaving her sluggish looking. -7 Dex for 4 rounds

That was painful, but I'm still up. I will now rearrange my actions and dice rolls/results, seeing as one of the conditions was met.
Quodak will take a 5-foot step away from the orc, towards Krathok. He will then fire his Mind bolt at the Orc again, with Deadly Aim: Attack: 1d20+6=19 damage 1d10+5=8.
Also, DM Caleth, just so you know, the remaining soldier would be unable to attack Orion, as halberds are not reach weapons.

Erie will stand and fire at the human in K7. At 40' away, point-blank shot does not apply, and as Quodak stated above, halberds are not reach weapons. As such, the human is not in melee and Erie does not suffer an attack penalty for firing at him.
Attack roll vs Human: 1d20 ⇒ 6
If the attack hits, damage is: 1d6 ⇒ 1
After firing, she will drop back into cover.
NOTE: If the northerner's ray did in fact miss, the attack roll is at +4.
EDIT: Which likely wouldn't help anyway!

Erie snaps off a shot at the remaining human opponent, but the shot goes wide.
Kjolmar slashes his target across the chest before dancing nimbly backwards through the gap in the barricade. You get partial cover from meele attacks, as long as they pass through a square occupied by barricade. This is only relevant in the cast of the human with the polearm. The orc attacking him keeps pace and swats at him with a meaty fist and connects with a clearly audible thunk which delights the crowd. 3 Damage to Kjolmar
Orion runs at the spellcaster and the human expertly flicks his polearm at him as he moves past, but the attack is bent away by the magical energy which surrounds Orion. The crowd boos at being robbed of the sight of blood by defensive magic.
The northern spellcaster has been chanting and rattling the charmes in his hair as Orion runs towards him. He finishes casting and with a screech a strange bird with deep green and blue plumage swoops in and claws at Orion's face. [3 damage to Orion]
Moredrel invokes his power at the Orc attacking Quodak, and the orc visibly shrinks back, knowing that he has been cursed in some way. The
Then he pauses for a beat as if something invisible were pressing down upon him, but is too ornery to let it slow him down for long. What slows him down longer is Quodak's blast catching him streight in the chest and lacerating his flesh. He throws his club at Quodak, too enraged to think clearly and too angry to care. The club sails past and lands in the sand.
The remaining human charges forward and shoves against the barricade which Erie is behind, sending it tumbling into her as she kneels. The crowd makes it's appreciation for this maneuver known. Erie please make a DC 10 reflex save to avoid being pinned under the toppling barricade.

Wow, you guys finished that round quick.
Moredrel backs up and casts his spell at the human, and he seems to loose his focus for a moment before furrowing his brow and shaking it off.
Erie's shot glances off of the human's armor. He steps forward and sweeps his polearm at Erie again, slashing her arm and spraying an arc of slightly-too-pale elven blood which elicits a roar from the spectators. 5 damage to Erie
Orion spins and lands a solid hit on the bird which had just appeared, turning it into a grayish mist as it vanishes.
Quodak again throws his bolts of energy at the orc. It connects solidly with the orc's chest and lifts him off the ground. He falls heavily and lies still. The crowd approves of such a dramatic kill.
Kjolmar slashes the orc again across the chest, leaving a bloody x on it. The orc swings wildly again with his fists but fails to connect with the dwarf.

Unless by some miracle (or evil eye) that critical confirms, I doubt I killed him with that shot. I think he was unharmed, and these guys all seem to have class levels - this guy's probably a fighter or a warrior, so 10+ hit points. We'll see, though.

Orion swings mightily at the back of the orc's head, and with a crunch it drops like a sack. The audience is clearly relishing the climax of this combat.
Quodak and Erie both loose their projectiles at the last remaining combatant nearly simultaneously. Erie's arrow hits him in the upper chest as Quodak's bolt punches through him entirely back to front and he topples.
