Just throwing this out there:
Begus (Matt), KULIK (Chris R.), and Rathen (Jeff) know each other in real life (well, I haven't MET Chris yet, but I call him a good friend.) Our PFS and home games use Slack for rapid fire chat. It's just a heads up and OOC chat option. We all get that Real Life Comes First (tm) and that PbP isn't fun when you're pressured, so it's a fun addition to all my campaigns. I'm happy to invite anyone in this game to the Team.
My Slack team is loaded with channels on all manner of things, but you can stick to this one thing if you're interested. PM if you are. If not, I totally get it. :-)

Slack is a private group chat app. You build a team of people who all have access to the mass chat. Within that large group you can "subscribe" to different channels. For example my team includes:
#cinema
#food
#Giantslayer
etc. I have one for Serpent's Skull. I've got a friend stationed in DC who chimes in to the Crimson Throne thread about once a month, but everyone else checks in constantly. Just throwing it out there.

How did we want to handle pets here? Im am not telling anyone they cant have one, but I will note that a great deal of this is going to be fairly tight quarters. Suggestions?

as far as my pet is concerned I think Frag is fine on his own.
Come on now, we can't have Fizzbeard sit outside and guard the door just because he is a Gnome. That's like racialist. :P

I think the bird is medium sized and Dora can take a dog instead of the wolf if it makes it easier. Mainly a form of transportation. Secondary melee, but we seem to have that coverd..

As for mounts, I'm really leaving it up to you all as a group. I'm not saying anyone can not have their pets, but just warning that it might get very crowded. It's both an issue with the size of pets, but also just the amount of minis on rather small maps.
I'm going to go ahead and leave in the spoilers for skill checks, both because other characters might like to have the chance to roll, and because it's a habit.
Also, I forgot if I mentioned this already, but since the ambient light from outside is not going to extend too far into the chamber, what sort of light sources (or Low-Light/Darkvision) is everyone utilizing here? I've added two yellow lines on the map just to indicate about where the light from outside ends, (for normal vision).

I had posted Dora would stick with the wolf. However, I just realized we have 7 players? It probably will be less crowded with her on a riding dog. Sorry for flip-flopping.

I just got off, and have to take the kids somewhere. I will not be able to update until after that, but not sure how late I will be.
You did destroy all of the enemies, so feel free to heal up, remove some conditions, and otherwise spend a few minutes resting.
Its worth noting there is no component for Restoration removing Temp Negative levels.

DM Beckett wrote:I believe Kulik had cast the spell twice. I was assuming one caster each which should remove all of the Negative Levels. If that's inc4orrect, please let me know.As I read it, each casting should dissipate all the temporary negative levels.
KULIK keeps his eyes open toward the rear.
What I mean is, my understanding was that Kulik had cast Restoration once on both people, removing all temporary Negitive Levels from both. I just wasnt clear if that was the intent as it jusf said something to the affect of "Kulik casts Restoration twice", and making assumptions can get people in trouble.

Also, just a head's up, Fizz is needing to drop out due to other commitments, and I just had not been able to get to it until now.

I apologize all. Its 830 and Im just getting home, and have another bright and early tomorrow. Starting this Monday, I should be away from the stupidity a while and things should be back to normal.

I am messing with you a bit, but because this has to be run as written, there are a few different things that can't happen until certain triggers are met, which, unless I missed them, thus far have not.
Unfortunately a lot of the hints have been missed with the Know Religion checks, and while I don't think it will be too difficult or deadly, I'm concerned that a lot of things might all go off at once.

Network down, so posting is spotty.
Agreed GM. Sometimes parties can stall a bit and get in a cycle. I'll be more active (easy for Frag anyways)

As a reminder, one thing that I find has allowed for a MUCH faster game is the use of Slack as a reminder system for turns and for quick questions that can be answered without the delay that posting causes.
I'm happy to add anyone to my Slack team for this campaign. You can be as involved or un-involved as you'd like.

I'm going to be spotty tomorrow. I trust the party to bot me.

Hey everyone, this weekend is going to be extremely busy for me. I'll be offline from Friday afternoon EST (UTC -4) until Essentially Monday morning.
Rathen Wyrmblight

Going to be on vacation for the next 7 days. I'll try and check in, but my posting will likely be slower.

Does Begus need a PM? I do not think he has posted in a month and may have lost track?

Begus is at the Robotics world championships. He should be back in action on Monday. Rathen is on vacation this week.
(Begus, Frag, KULIK, and Rathen are all on a Slack team together. It's a great way to ping people :-).)

I had started a thread to try to garner discussion on the Rougarou and the Naiad for next season's race options, but I think I did it a little too early on the weekend and it's dropped off a bit. (Or maybe no one cares. :P )
Anyone interested in discussing, offering their opinions, or likes/dislikes?

I'll need to catch up on my fmreading before I weigh in. But I'm happy to do so!

Thanks. I just wanted to see what folks thought, but its not at all required, (and probably will not matter).

GM, I am fine with whatever pace works for you. (Since I am on one of those other two tables, that works either way! :)

Just a heads up, I'm gone until Sunday afternoon. Bot as needed!

So, a quick update.
Right after I'd asked if it would be okay to focus on ending those two games I was running, I basically got hit with very late work all week as we are gearing up for another deployment. A lot of last minute stuff came down that basically only I could do, and for most of that week, I didn't even get to get online.
I had intended to just say screw it, and continue this game while finishing those two, but that didn't happen. I have since finished up those two games, and I had tried to post here, but realistically I just have not been able to do too much.
Again, I apologize, and I know this was supposed to have been a shorter game as we move into parts 5 and 6.
I am freed up a little bit more now, so, from his point on, it should be significantly faster. Well, up until Jun 4thish, where I'm going to the field. Now, I should have internet, and should be able to continue the game, but, worst case scenario between June 4th and 25th I might not if I have no signal out there. Hopefully tomorrow after work I'll be able to get this going full steam.
As a side note, something I've never really been a fan of is having an NPC tag along. Or, more specifically, I've never really been too comfortable with an NPC being active, both because I'd like to have the PC's have the spotlight and because I feel that generally having them along ruins some of the sense of Player/Character achievement for discovering things, overcoming obstacles, and winning.
I have no problem with them being there in the background to offer aid if the party is in dire straights such as a much needed Cure Spell, but at the same time, I don't want to, for example, rob Dora of the power of her Bardic Music ability by having an NPC do it instead. Not unless specifically asked. <Now, if Dora has burned through all her charges, the NPC would happily take up the slack, that's a bit different.>
So, I guess what I'm saying is that is my rational and intent for keeping Juliver in the background. I don't want her to sweep in get a random crit that kills an foe when a PC might have done so, <and with the Paizo Dice Roller, I don't want to risk that becoming common>, but I also don't want anyone to think I'm screwing over the party by not having her help out, <or come of as withholding her aid>. I would like to hear your thoughts on this? Would you like her to be more active, or sort of stay back as she has been. The idea is that if she is really needed, she would step in and save someone's life, but only if things go pretty bad.
Dora D Asplora
|
I am good with that reasoning. The point of the game is for us to be the "heroes" and save the day. If we were just hobbits following a wizard everywhere who will win the fights for us, where is the fun? :-)
If she hangs back and lets us work, and offers advice or a cure when we are stuck, sounds peachy.
Good luck on your work assignments. Do what makes sense but don't burn yourself out. :-)
Kulik
|
Real Life Comes First [tm], DM Beckett. And your life is often a lot real-er than mine. Be careful out there.
I'm peachy with Juliver being in the background, but present to move the narrative along; that's the ideal spot for NPCs in my opinion.
Rathen Wyrmblight
|
Agreed with both Dora and KULIK Re: Juliver. Fade her to the back, and bring her out only when we're not doing our job to help drive things forward (usually when we're stumped)
And no need to apologize about your schedule. Real life is a thing, and it's important. Thanks for keeping us informed too. It helps.

Just wanted to give everyone a head's up. I'll be leaving to "the field" on the 3rd to approx. the 25th. I don't expect this to change my availability before then, and during that time, minus a day for travel back and forth, I expect to have posting capabilities. BUT, I will not know until I get there just what sort of internet access I will have. Possibly none, and possibly a great deal.
I tend to have fairly good internet, but, like I said, I really will not know until I get there. We are going out to the field to train for the upcoming deployment, and so I do expect to be rather busy, but no more than I have been the last few weeks, and likely even less so.
The upside is, I purchased part 5 in physical copy, which should allow me to do a lot more prep when it's time, which should not be too far off.

Heads up, I'll be AFK tomorrow through Sunday night. I'm chaperoning a field trip, and then I've got a lot of house work that HAS to get done before the granite comes in Monday. Bot me as needed.

Sorry, yesterday seems to be going the same way as today, I keep meaning to post, and I keep getting calls from work keeping me from doing so. . .

FYI - heading to Chicago tomorrow and Florida on Sunday. So lots of driving - probably limited posting for this coming week.
DM Beckett

Just wanted to give a head's up. I've finally made it to the field and set up, but now that I'm here, my internet signal is incredibly weak to non-existent.
This is the first time I've been able to get on, and I will try to be more active now that I'm able to, somewhat, but feel free to bot me as needed. Once I get a change to inform al of my games, I'll start going through and catching up on what's been going on thus far.
Again, apologies for vanishing. Worst case, I will be back around the 22nd, but I will make every effort to continue to post from now on.
