Ok, at first, before we use this for anything else, I want to have a location I can use for some basic character sheet info, (for later). Please post using your character alias.
So, please, for now, only post the following info here. Once I have everyone's, and see how many people I have, I'll open this to a normal discussion thread. :)
1.) Player Name/Nickname (for the Chronicle Sheet)
2.) Player Name
3.) PFS and Character Number
4.) Faction
5.) Your Day Job Roll (or state No Day Job)
6.) Anything special you need noted on your chronicle sheet, (purchases, Boon purchases, etc. . . ) I'll ask this again towards the end too, but up front, I just mean if you want to make any purchases before play begins.
7.) Anything else.

![]() |

1.) Achilles
2.) Ashia
3.) 116049-1
4.) Osirion
5.) No Day Job
6.) I'll be making some purchases, but I'm not sure exactly what yet. I'll get a list together.
7.) Ashia has the "Moment of Glory" boon from PbP GameDay 2. Just FYI.

![]() |

1. B Viggers
2. Yoshi Masaso (I assume you want character name, not player name)
3. PFS character: 100387-10
4. Faction: Dark Archives
5. Day job : Profession (sailor) 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
6. Misc Chronicle Information
Next Chronicle: #1
Current XP: 0
Current Fame/Prestige: 0/0
Current Gold: 35gp 5sp
(Note I'm offering up Yoshi in place of Orophin to bolster our melee a bit)

![]() |

1.Gary Wang
2.Mirima Beryamae
3.PFS 152845-3
4.Faction: Grand Lodge
5.Craft(Painting) +15 (INT,1,+2 mw tools, +5 crafter's fortune)
Paint away!: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26
6.First Adventure. Coins 41gp 9sp
7.I didn't pay for the spellbook. Do I get one for free, or do I pay 15gp?

![]() |

1. Aron Marczylo
2. Davor Mason
3. PFS 82068-4
4. Faction: Grand Lodge
5. Craft(Taxidermy) 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 (took this as it most closely fit the character as he'll be collecting fetishes off creatures and so on for fluff.
6. First Adventure Coins: 9sp 8cp
7. Just a forewarning, due to his domain ability, Davor can take an immediate action to make an attack against someone who has struck him once per day.

I didn't pay for the spellbook. Do I get one for free, or do I pay 15gp?
I believe as it says in the core book, you get a spellbook free as a wizard, but you'll need to pay for additional books at a later date when the book fills up.
Certainly not needed now, but there's a certain number of pages (I forget, I think 100) and spells take up 1 page per level (0 level take up one page each.)

![]() |

Thanks for that bit of info. Nice craft choice. Mirima had taken cooking, but that wasn't technically on the list. This being PFS, I wasn't sure if taking skills outside the list was ok. If not, I'd very much like Mirima to be about cooking rather than painting.

![]() |

That's a good point, though I was thinking more of the idea of making a masterpiece dish than of running a kitchen, more of an artist (or a food snob), if you will.

Would ratatouille be on the list? And do you have a rat familiar to help you with making the dishes?

![]() |

*Face Palm*
Why didn't I think of that! That's awesome!

![]() |

1.) Azih
2.) Hisao
3.) 125190-3
4.) Osirion
5.) No Day Job
6.) Made a bunch of purchases. Ready to go. One of those was a prestige point to get a wayfinder.
Excited to start playing. The character sheet is right in the alias. Please let me know if I missed anything.

![]() |

Ok, it looks like everyone is here.

![]() |

Oh, I am. Sorry. I think I confused Yoshi and Hisao.

![]() |

![]() |

so it looks like i'm just going to get a wand of CLW for 2pp. also, as part of my pre-2nd level play rework, i meant to make my haramaki masterworked, so my character sheet now reflects that as well.

![]() |

Huddle up everyone. I am feeling it...
Ok, questions for the DM, based on what all we're seeing so far:
1) We've got only one person who looks like he's doing the priest thing, right?
2) How many of those weird bandaged staying away from us people are there?
3) How many are normal looking mourners?
4) Is it fair to say the curtain is shut, but not the door to the outside? I tried rereading everything thus far, and it looks like we've got priest with the body behind the now shut curtain, bandaged and normal mourners in the outer room, the (open) door to the outside, and us mixing and mingling between the outer room and the outside.
Ooh, that leads to
5) Is it just the priest and the body inside the inner room? Or are there others with him in there?
I'm giving Mirima one more in-game post. Then I think she may start something. Ok, two, tops. Hope you're all ready :)

![]() |

Don't worry, Mirima's still got one (or two) in-game posts before she stirs things up. Not counting the dice rolling against the countdown :).

![]() |

There are 5 or 6 of the bandaged-up individuals outside in the larger common room, and (only Hisao knows this for the moment) 3 more and the "high priest" now beyond the curtain in a smaller back room. Other than that, there are approx. 20 mourners inside the house. Sadly, there is no map for this, as it might have helped out a bit, but honestly this act is only a small portion of what's going on, and I think what's probably about to happen, it shouldn't matter too much.

![]() |

Hisao, sorry if my jesting tone failed to come across. I REALLY like your character, and am hoping dearly your mention of "withdraw" is your character backing away from the bees, and not you taking Hisao out of the game.
The game is supposed to be fun for everyone involved, including you, and if I'm ruining the experience, please let me know.

![]() |

Whew. You scared me with that word...
I was all ready to have the hawk reprimand Mirima, too ;)

![]() |

Ok, I wanted to just explain a bit how I run combats, in case there where any questions.
I use this sort of format:
ROUND 1
Sylphiette () and Marima ()
------------------------------------------------------------------
Ben-Garri
------------------------------------------------------------------
Ashia (), Yoshi (), Hisao (), Gashgamer (), and Davor ()
------------------------------------------------------------------
Cultist 1 (), Cultist 2 (), and Cultist 3 ()
Generally, to make things run smoother, I try to group enemies together, so the three "leper-priest" cultists all used one Initiative roll.
I've bolded the individuals that are currently up, (Sylphiette and Marima), but I am ok with people posting out of order, to a point. Just keep in mind that if you post early, your actual action will take place when your turn comes around. Sometimes, other people can invalidate your action too, so it helps if you post a contingency action or two, (if I can charge here, I will. If not, I'll instead move over here, draw my bow and take a shot.)
Occasionally, I might make a small change to your action, just based off of what I think would be reasonable a things progress. But, I am perfectly fine allowing a small "retcon". Just for an example, lets say three players try to target the same individual. The first one hits, the second one casts sleep, and drops them, and the third one shoots an arrow. Well, being that they probably posted that before they knew about the Sleep spell, they probably wouldn't want to hit and wake them up when there are other valid targets. So I'll take that last arrow's attack and just put it on a different, most reasonable target. If however, the player says "Hey, that guy really ticked me off and I want to try to make sure they never wake up", that's fine. We can just switch the attack right back.
Besides each of the names, I have a (). This is just a sort of quick way to keep track of what damage people have taken, and any other conditions they may have. So, it might look like Cultist 2 (-4, prone) if that Cultist has taken 4 damage and ben tripped. Note, it's not how much HP they have left or related to their max HP, it's simply how much damage they have taken, and meant to give an indication on how hurt different players and enemies are but without revealing too much.
As always, let me know if you have any questions. I apologize, over the past few days, it looks like there where a lot that I didn't answer. I was trying to answer them indirectly through game posts, so I hope I covered them all.

![]() |

Sounds good. As Mirima is most excellent in spatial perception (I am so totally keeping this painting thing), she would like to point out that, in a 30 x 30 room, there is 20' in space to reach a cultist nearly directly across that room, so someone with 40' movement can enter melee adjacent to a cultist so long as they're not traveling too much toward an opposite corner. Similarly, someone with a reach weapon can likely enter melee with 15' movement.
Mirima points this out most helpfully to the brute squad traveling with her :).

![]() |

Me too. I may take a look at the Inspired Blade archetype for swashbucklers (is it legal for PFS?) and see if I can play a Dread Pirate Roberts :P

![]() |

It´s one the films I like since I was twelve.
In another scenario I am playing with a look alike of Iñigo Montoya.
I don´t know if its legal, i could check it with hero lab tonight.

![]() |

Fezzik? I swear I've heard that used as a sci-fi tv series insult like Frell from Farscape or Smeg from Red Dwarf.

Sweet...now I need to go watch the movie to get inspired :)

Inpired blade is legal, hero lab with PFS restrictions let´s me do one.
Just a head's up, Hero Labs (is freaking fantastic), but is neither a legal source, nor is it 100% PFS accurate. Always double check the actual Additional Resources to make sure.
Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Advanced Class Guide
All playtest versions of the ten new base classes from this book are no longer legal for play as of 8/14/14. Anyone playing the playtest version of one of the ten new base classes must have updated his or her character as of 8/14/14. Updating your character means adjusting only the things that have changed, but not rebuilding the character.
.
Arcana: all magus arcana on page 104 are legal for play.
.
Archetypes: all archetypes on pages 75-133 are legal for play, except forgepriest, hex channeler, musketeer, mutation warrior, packmaster, primal companion hunter, primalist, spirit summoner, and steel hound.

![]() |

But it´s legal, right? If it is not it will be a negative point... for the company of hero lab (well it does have errors), but at least one a month recive updates.
Well it´s worse point is when you have to recall everything you have brought... they should make a rollback archive for that.

![]() |

Yes, it's legal, (the archtype). I just meant that they do make mistakes, so always double check. Also, sometimes various sources and ruling (on Paizo's end) are confusing, or something becoming illegal is not announced, and Hero Labs doesn't catch it (just like many people don't) for a while.
It really isn't Hero Labs's fault most of the time, but rather a great deal of clarification, (stealth) errata, and changes are hidden within the forums rather than a much more obvious place.

![]() |

I have gotten the first map up. It is a Google Doc, and in many ways acts like a Paint program. I have it set so that you can edit it, thus moving your own figures around. Right now, there are no baddies up, so if you can, try to move around a bit and try it out.
I just placed everyone on the board, so feel free to change your position a bit, but, when the next encounter comes, everyone will be in the general are they started.
Please let me know if anyone can not move their "mini" around. I do know that using a touch screen (phone, tablet, etc. . .) will not work. If that's an issue, just let someone know in your posts, and w can move for you.
Soon, there will be a combat, and I'll make another post explaining how it works, format wise. I'm going to try to make sure that you are able to roll almost everything for yourself, but I will handle Init. If anyone has a reroll ability, just let me know when/if you want to use it, and I'll change things up based on that.

![]() |

Unless I missed something, I think it was Yoshi who confronted the priest and tripped him, failing the Fort save in the process. Not Hisao :)

![]() |

Yes, <facepalm> That should have been @ Yoshi.

![]() |

Congrats indeed! Your first? (three girls here, one rather like Mirima and the source of my inspiration :P )

![]() |

Second son, the first one was Victor, and right now is 5 years old. Ah, how i envy you, i did want a girl, the two times.... but two is the limit so... i will wait for my niece.

![]() |

Well, you see Mirima. If that instills more envy within you, my hats off to you. Sometimes, I feel rather like how Davor must feel. Truly though, they are sweethearts.
I started surreptitiously teaching the two younger girls the waltz boxstep. I wonder if I'll get either one to learn to dance with me.
I remember how I was as a boy. I think my wife would go batty herding a younger me around.
