Is one of those spoilers supposed to be for Kurvast? Nice initiative rolls, most of the party (cough Darvan cough).
Broken weapons? That would be inauspicious, the monk decides. He dashes around the inanimate images towards the closest threat. Skidding along the paved stone floor, he sweeps a leg toward the construct.
Move W x3, NW, W. Trip attempt on #1.

Kurvast's trip maneuvers don't provoke (Improved Trip). If any threatened enemy falls prone for any reason, Kurvast can make an unarmed strike as an AoO up to 4 times per round at +5/1d6+5 (Vicious Stomp). Rolling once if his own trip succeeded:

Blinking wildly, Grace is momentarily taken back by the ecstatic surge of magic, but is clearly concerned by her visions. Spying the threat ahead of her, she pulls out a flask of acid as she takes a step forward, focuses on the flask and the statue, and fires off an Acid Splash at the southern statue, her eyes picking up a light blue tinge as she mutters the arcane words to bring forth the power.

As the party launches a quick assault, hoping to drop the threats before they truly become one, only the monk's strikes manage to even connect, but it seems a blow that would have shattered stone only causes minute cracks.

Do your bombs deal splash damage to other squares? Also which one are you aiming at? If you miss, do you have the chance to hit another square?

![]() |

Basic alchemist bombs splash in a one-square radius for minimum damage (so 5 in this case), Reflex save for half with DC 10 + 1/2 alch level + Int mod. If the initial attack misses, standard splash attack rules apply: roll 1d8 to determine direction from intended target, and count off a number of squares in that direction equal to the range increment of the throw. The landing square and all adjacent squares take splash damage.
Rolling Kurvast's AoO for the statue standing up from prone.
AoO Unarmed strike: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (8) + 5 - 1 = 12

Kurvast strikes a knee into the creature's face as it climbs to its feet, but perceives no change in the stony visage. Still loath to risk his weapon against whatever ruinous magic has animated these statues, he sweeps another leg toward his enemy while throwing an elbow toward its joints.
Kurvast launches a Flurry of Maneuvers. As part of a full attack, he can make an extra combat maneuver, using his monk levels in place of his monk BAB, though all maneuvers attempted during this action take a -2 penalty.
(Flurry) Trip: 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 1 - 2 - 1 = 26

Crap, I forgot about splash. It's my first time using bombs. I'm lobbing at the south one. It's a ranged touch attack to hit. Direct damage to target if it hits and splash damage of 5 regardless of damage roll to all adjacent critters. Reflex DC of 14 for half splash damage. Misses roll a 1d8 to choose an adjacent spot to land in with 1 falling one square short and the rest of them moving around the targetted square clockwise depending on roll.

Ok, a small retcon. The first bomb missed. Also, please indicate which statue you are targeting. If you zoom in on the map, each one has a number. :)
miss: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Statue 2 Refl: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 <5 Damage>
Sahba Refl: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 <2 damage>
Sahba Refl #2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 <2 Damage>
Sahba, both lucky and not so much receives splash damage from both bombs, but manages to avoid most of it from both.
After the second bomb hits it, the Statue near the dinosaur is looing pretty hurt, but continues to press on. Sahba tears into it a bit more, causing further damage and small chunks of stone to begin to fall off. Still it keeps coming, and seems to do so until it is truly destroyed. Not far away, Kurvast manages to retrip his target, and delivers a savage stomp before it stands up and swings back.
Statue 1 stands, drawing another AoO, then swings at Kurvast.

So is Sabha still up? Not to throw an ally under the bus, but it looks like he's taken 12 damage by now.
The statue continues to shrug off Kurvast's attacks, but this time replies with a blow if its own. The monk grunts with surprise as a stony limb crashes into his ribcage. He coughs violently, barely remaining on his feet.
Better to lose the metal and save the bones, he decides. Abandoning caution, he swings the earth breaker low, aiming for the statue's knees.
Flurry of maneuvers, like previous turn.

I went ahead and moved you, Mur. 5' step back only gave you two options while keeping you within 10' reach, and one of those options put you next to the other statue, which I don't think you wanted to do, so I moved you to option B, which is closer to the center of the room.

GM - Sahba took 8 from the statue, then 2 from the first bomb, making her staggered. Instead of the attack she would have taken that round, she would have withdrawn with her move action. Is it possible to retcon her last two rounds of attacks and have her avoid the last bomb as well? If not, no biggie, but her last round of attacks wouldn't have happened because she was unconscious at the time.

![]() |

So, I just realized I made a mistake, and in this tier only, there is only 1 statue. So, with that in mind, I a bit of a retcon is in order. Assume that only the statue near Kurvast was real, so all attacks went to it. We can remove the second bomb, (which will also get Sahba some HP back). Because there was only one statue, I'll take back the first hit that Sahba took, (so a total of 10 HP back). The statue is now destroyed, though it resisted a lot of damage.
As the statue crumbles to rubble and so much dust, you notice a rather large opal sitting within, which looks like it would bring quite the price at any market. A sign on the far door reads “Scriptorium—Quiet Please.”

A cursory search of the room reveals a hidden treasure locked away in the base of the statue that just tried to kill you. Within a hidden chamber Osirion Faction Mission lies a small collection of ancient scrolls called “The Aucturn Enigma", a dozen black vellum scrolls sealed with crimson wax and molten silver. Of interest to any Chelaxian, there is also a hidden statue of the archdevil Mephistopheles, just small enough to pocket.
Nothing else really stand out. Heading towards the next room, past the door labeled "Scriptorium", the light from the various spells just doesn't seem to penetrate the ambient darkness, or it might just be that it just feels that way in the sheer pitch darkness this deep into the basement. This dark, vaulted chamber serves as a scriptorium,
where texts from the archives next door may be read or copied at leisure. Bare wooden shelves, empty except for some extra writing supplies (sheets of parchment, bottles of ink, and quills), line the eastern wall, and three desks with high stools stand in the center of the room between six columns. A small sign on the southern door reads
“Archives—Private.”
A body lies slumped in the southwestern corner, still clutching a club. Its legs have been eaten away by acid, and the corpse is already showing signs of putrefaction, with patches of mold on the skin. A broken lantern lies next to the body, its oil spilled on the floor. On closer inspection, his remains seem to be infected with some sort of strange mold, though that doesn't seem to be what either killed him, due to many large gashed and wounds on his body.
A small blood trail leads from the room that you just left (with the statues) across this room to the southern door, then back to the corner where he now lies. To the east is another door, a label on it reads "Storeroom 3".
The two northern desks each contain small, empty candelabra, two bottles of dried ink, and old quill pens. The southern desk has been used more recently—the candelabrum holds the stubs of half-burnt candles, the ink bottles are still wet, and fresh ink stains the quill pens. A handful of books and scrolls, treatises on the solar system and the empty space beyond, lie open on the desk. Underlined passages and marginalia written in Osiriani.
You also notice that a piece of parchment has slipped between the desk, and would have been easily missed. It is also written in Osirioni, but seems much newer, and the quickly scribbled note is much harder to decipher.
So far, I have a running record of no one making those two checks, and thus missing a great portion of the background of what is actually going one. :)

Moved myself and my meatshie... I mean Mur, into the room.
Reading the jourals, Grace whispers under her breath, "But what does all this mean?"
"Can anyone else make sense of this? It makes references to a Dark Tapestry and the Dominions of the Black, as well as the Gate of Beyond. A sorcerer named Kubburum Ishme-dagan and a wizard named Ralzeros the Overwatched are highlighted here, and here. Anything ring a bell?" She looks around hopefully, then reads the other journal, "Apparently, there is some sort of jar that is the key to awakening to Beyond, whatever that means, and this jar is also some kind of life support system for some individual, presumably this Beyond character or someone from there, and is key to destroying it or them after some event happens. Anyone happen to see a jar of some sort anywhere?"
"I can't make heads or tails of what this is referring to, I'm sorry."
Unless a Knowledge (Arcana) helps, I'm stumped.
She then looks around the room for the jar that Imrizade's journal indicates.

Hearing Grace's question the dwarf speaks up, "I believe the girl that we're supposed to be finding had a strange silver cylinder that might be considered a jar..."
Virgil rolls an extract in his fingers for a moment, but gives up on it and tosses it back into his jacket. Cautiously, he asks, "Out of curiosity, are there any descriptions of that wizard and sorcerer? Would 'bald, male, and not at all cherub-like in his demeanor' fit either of them? No reason... just curious"

Grace asks quizzically, "Cherub-like? I... I really don't know. I can look again, though. There might be something in the later sections..."
