Yes, you are 5ft up, (can't climb past someone else). It will take a (at least) 3 more Climb checks to get up, but you are stuck beneath whoever is first on the rope.
I misread, and it is actually a part of a movement to climb (rather than it's own action), so the top person can climb at half of their normal movement speed, but can double move each round, potentially moving up to 30ft in one round.

Sorry I'm in your way aeden. I'm actually not sure what else to do. I could try making 2 climb checks to get out of your way but every time I climb I risk falling. I could try attacking the web myself but it would cost me a move just to draw.

You can Take 10, so ne risk of falling. That first time was a 1 time thing as the rope was kind of jostled around.

Sure, im fine with that. Sorry busy weekend.

Generally, unless something is directly threatening your ability to concentrate on a task, such as an adjacent enemy attacking you, or incoming spells or ranged attacks, you can take 10.

i should ask now to reduce more confusion. it looks like i am still on the rope 5 ft from the top. i assume i need 1 more climb (move) action to reach the top. once at the top is there enough room for aeden to climb up or will i need to move out of the way and is there space for that? will that be a separate action or can i use my remaining movement?

![]() |

You'll of course need the gm to verify, but I'd imagine that you'd still have the remainder of your movement. Since you normally climb at 1/4 your speed each 5 ft of movement should cost 20 ft. If you have any left after that, you could probably move that far. You can also make a climb check with a -5 penalty to move half your speed in a climb, so each 5 ft of climbing would cost 10 ft. Again, this is subject to the gm's adjudication.

Yes, your next action will basically be -10ft from one Move action to finish climbing up, and from there, you can try to Acrobatics past it. Instead, you could try to attack if from where you are at. It would be best if you could Bull Rush it or something.
Looks like I need to reread the Climb rules, too. I could have sworn it was 1 Move = 10ft, then I glanced through and saw it was at 1/2 speed, but that is wrong, too.

Init hasn't been updated but I feel like everyone is basically waiting on me since Krumthi, Toran, Wyran, and the fisher have all posted their actions, so I'm going to try to move this thing along. This seems like a complicated encounter for such low level PCs. My Acro is +0 and my CMB is +2 anything useful I try is going to be vs. on the creatures CMD. Tumble past it is unlikely to work and overrun grants a bonus for additional legs. Bull rush has the greatest chance of success though I provoke AoO.

Sorry, it's me. Just had little opportunity to post yesterday, and I'm considering just pushing past this encounter and getting on with the actual game. I hate encounters that just leave players sitting there waiting to contribute or act.

![]() |

Another thing I have been thinking about is that for parts 2 and 3, there is another player that wants in. That would put us at a total of 8 players, and I will need to spit the game into to separate ones for that, assuming no one drops out.
We are not there yet, so it's not a big deal, but I may also reopen recruitment for 1 or 2 more players, so I'm just sort of weighing things out.

Wow, I missed a lot of posts. Sorry I didn't check in yesterday, hecktic day IRL. Woke up to frozen pipes which made us late leaving for my daughter's Doctor's appointment an hour away, car trouble on the way home. Looks like I was all tied up in game any way. I suggest we divvey the loot. I'm fine with Krumthi using the cloak. Some one who doesn't have emergency healing should take the potion. IIRC and I may not, I'm new at this, PFS doesn't make distinctions between arcane and divine scrolls so it looks like Wyran and myself can cast Endure elements without UMD, however I currently have it prepared already. Looks like I should hold on to the scroll of Spider Climb. I take it we don't need to make spellcraft checks to ID these items?

![]() |

I hope you can use that spider climb on me lol
AND just so y'all know my last character that ran threw this was a combat controller not a physical damage dealer...

Yeah, I'm having a great time with my Sorcerer now that I've decked him out in control-type spells over damage spells.
I think this team is mostly 'hit thing until it dies' types though.

No worries. Real life comes first. Hope everything is better though. :)

I tend to kind of waive that most of the time. It generally just slows down the game and a lot of the time people would guess what something is anyway. There are not a whole lot of cheap cloaks for example. I assume out of everyone, someone can make the checks, so I just generally tell you what it is, unless it's an uncommon item or figuring it out is relevant to the story.

Just wanted to let everyone know that at this point, I am going to be heading out any time. It is very likely that I will not be able to post at all after tomorrow or so, for up to a week. So just forewarning. I should be able to tell before I leave, but in case I can't, within the next 40ish hours (from this post), I might be with no internet.

![]() |

Congrats my friend. Whenever it happens, we'll take care of this end.

I agree. I just had one in Sept, and it's a lot of work, but it's worth it. I hope everything goes well and smooth for you and the wifey.
:)
Also, just putting this out there. . . DM Beckett, . . . great name for a boy or a girl. Strong name. J/K

I was wondering why no one was posting. It looks like my last post got eaten. I am having a bit of trouble with Google Maps here, so I am looking into ways to do something else. Google is blocked at work (the nerve. . .), so most of the day I am not able to follow along with the maps at all. I finally have personal internet, too, but I am not going to be able to use it too much. So, for now, until I can get something better, a lot of the combats are going to have to be kind of descriptive based.

Hey Joe if you have another low level scenario you are going to runmy friend and I would like in.

I just got back to the states today. I had some things happen and was not able to get online for a long while.
I know I have a lot to still do. I'm going to try to begin to tackle it tomorrow. It's just been a long day.
I apologize to everyone, and I will try to get this all sorted out. If people are still interested, I'd like to finish this one and continue onwards. I should not have any more issues being back in the states.

Beckett! Glad to have you back. I hope everything is ok.
I'm still here and eager to continue, but we might have lost some others. Take your time. It's good to know you're back.

Im ok. Things where bad for a while, but Im good now. Just want to get back to working and gaming.
