You manage to kill all three within a matter of seconds, their lifeless bodies rolling back into the muck they leapt from, and allowing you to continue onwards. As you approach the Hydra's Fang, you can hear some of the crew talking about the fight. Less happy that you won (or lost) as much as reveling in the bloodshed. One comments about taking Storm Tooth for a meal later on when they grow tired of their rations. Another makes a ungentlemanly comment about taking Kryssa aboard. Another comments on how it was over too quickly, while another insists that those creatures can speak to sharks, and how she was hoping to see, well more.
As you approach the catwalk to the ship, an individual shouts out to you, "You lot. You the new crew? Huh, well, we will see. Toss up your tribute. Once we see if yur worthy, then we might allow you's aboard."

The thug looks a bit disappointed having been caught in his scam, but motions you lot aboard. "Alright, alright, get up here an get to work. Yur lucky ya made it in time. We are about to leave this god-forsaken town and get to some real fun upcoast."
Continuing the charade, you board, and begin doing some menial tasks for a minute, just getting a good lay of the land, or ship, as it where. You notice that the crew has removed all of the normal comforts and gutted the subdecks of unneeded furnishings, and also keeps the crew to a minimum in order to boost the vessel's speed.
Once on the ship, you notice hidden tripwires around the deck, located at would be the most opportune places to try to climb aboard. They release a small weight to knock would-be boarders to the water, then spilling blood and fish guts on them to draw sharks. The captain shouts out that he wants to be gone within half an hour, and then retreats to his cabin.
You begin to make your way to his cabin, but are stopped by the taskmaster, and instructed to clean the deck and bring up the catwalk.

Before you are able to try to push back, you notice a strange moaning sound coming from inside the ships hull, and also notice that the ship seems to be floating a bit low, considering how much has been removed to gutted to decrease the ships weight and increase it's speed.
Then suddenly the captain's door opens up, with you standing right there, and he steps out, looking you over suspiciously. You can tell he is about to questions you, but stops and turns to address the crew. "It's time we get out of here. We will dump are, um um, cargo when we are out to see a bit, so those bastards can feed the sharks and not, . . . the alternative. Once we are clear, you are gonna patch that hole, and we'll be back in business."
He gives the navigator a few instructions and then retreats back to his room, leaving the taskmaster to stare you down with a cruel smile. "Alright. I got just the job fer you lot. Head down below and fetch some pitch, ropes, and sail canvas. Now. Get goin'."
With little else to do just yet, you head bellow deck to avoid being caught until you can locate the tablets you seek. A small stair near the rear of the ship leads below, where you step into about a foot of cold sea water. Opening the door in front of you, you see the small supply room, but it's not that that draws your attention. The next door, leading to the section of the cargo hold at the front of the ship is barred with black chains.

![]() |

Rhuul looks at the chains. "The Smith always said I should pay more attention... But they look pretty solid to me. That door though..."
Rhuul graps some tools and tries to take the door off the hinges.
disable device: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14

![]() |

This could all be very interesting. . . As a Season 0 scenario, they left it pretty vague.
It doesn't take much to remove the chains (or the door for that matter) as it was clearly designed to keep something in rather than block entry, (and in fact your pretty sure that this crew would find joy in seeing anyone stupid enough to open it, um, um get what's coming to them). As you open the door, a small amount of water torrents from the room, but once the two rooms are equalized, the door gives with ease.
Lit torches in the room reveal eight prisoners, still chained and manacled. Each obviously drown from the small holy in the lower side of the wall, allowing the room to flood. The smell nearly makes you vomit, as these innocents had been left here to rot, and are most certainly the "cargo" that was meant to be dropped later.
Stepping in to investigate a bit more, you see a small chest in the corner as well. You reach to grab it, but as you do, one of the corpses springs to unlife, and tries to bite you, only missing as it is still bound in the chains that fettered it to the floor, causing her death when the room flooded.
She looks at you with hatred. "Release us. You where not the crew that chained us. Release us, and you, and only you shall live. We will have vengeance!"
