Dropping his crossbow Edric curses as the mites swarm around him. Akwardly he draws his long sword and slashes at the mite to his right.

Edric strikes for first blood, gutting one of the snarling mites surrounding him and shifting position.

Unable to help his fellows, Dingetooth glares at the killer of one of his people, his eyes bulging out of his sockets onimously.

Will Save DC11 or become shaken please Edric.

The final, deafened centipede lurches awkwardly forward and lunges for Malthir.

Edit: *sigh* Gary had said the dice roller had been fixed for previews and edits, and when I tested it, it had. Rolled a 17 for a total of 21 on attacking Malthir but you'll have to take my word for it.

Take two damage Malthir, and please make me a DC13 fortitude save or take...

Male Human Cavalier (Order of the Dragon) 1

Will:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
The normally stoic knight seems overwhelmed by the onrush of mites and cramped confines of the cave, in a shaky voice he calls out,Guardians regroup! Lets get our backs together so they can't surround us! And Yelena were in damnation is that fire!

Yelena steps forward, her hands weaving small, intricate motions as she breathes silent whispers to herself. Staring into an invisible horizon, she intones softly, "The door is unsealed, and the Servitor beseeches." The witch extends her arms forward as if in supplication and a searing gout of flame erupts from her outreached fingers.

Yelena takes a 5-foot step west to N2 and casts burning hands, targeting mites at M4, L3, and K3. I could have caught all of them, but it would have hit Edric as well. That would violate the whole 'I'm here to protect you!' thing going. ;)

Damage 2d4 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6
Reflex DC 15 for half damage.

Fortitude Save 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Malthir shakes off the poisonous bite of the creature and decides that dying by poison isn't such a great idea. He has no idea of what the poison will do.
Round 2 Action
5' step back draw antitoxin and consume it.

That would draw 2 attacks of opportunity I believe from centipedes in O3 & M3. My AC would also drop to 18 since I would have to use my shield hand to hold my sword while I did this. Switching hands is a free action I believe, I just loose the use of my shield? Please confirm? Also I will probably have to make multiple saves right or is the centipede poison only 1 save to completely resist the poison?

It's nice, but I still don't trust it to save me vs. 5 potential saves each round. It is going to take me a number of rounds to fend them off and kill them.

Your Humble Narrator

Two of the mites are burnt to a crisp by the spell, while one of them barely remains standing (grey cross indicates disabled). The severely wounded mite desperately attempts a last stab at Casimir before falling into unconciousness, but the stab falls short of the duelist.-

The remaining mite quick-steps around Edric to stab at the lighter armoured Casimir, the dagger parried.

Four more mites surge up the shaft but don't get to attack this round, their bodies covered in Casimir's grease.

Malthir takes a step back to consume anti-toxin, and two of the centipedes lash out while he lowers his guard.

Round 2 actions

As the flames of Yelena's spell burn the mites, Casimir lets out a triumphant whoop.

Great shot, Yelena - hit them again! Use the wand if you have to.

Seeing the stalwart Eagle Knight shaken by the fey magic, Casimir maneuvers to stand beside him, offering his own magically aided words of encouragement, and at the same time giving Yelena a clear shot at unleashing another bout of flame. Once in position, he reaches into his bandoleer and once more pulls out his flask of Alchemist fire.

Stand firm, Guardians. There may be a lot of them, but they are weak and puny. They will fall by our blades and spells!

As his words of bardic power ring out through the chamber, he ads a more personal note to Fenna, who stands watch over the bound Dingetooth.

Fenna, would you kindly teach that little runt that it is impolite to stare!

Edric covers his face with his sheild as Yelena's fire comsumes the mites. He is about to give a greatful cheer but falls shorts as the dead are quickly replaced. Desperatly trying to regroup with his companions the Knight slashes at one of the mites as he steps to stand beside Casimir.

With that, she furrows her brow and begins to weave her hands in an almost hypnotic rhythm as she prays to Aroden, "Please, give these wretched creatures a glimpse of your all encompassing vision."

As she utters the final syllable of her request, a nebulous haze of shifting colours fades into view across the table and into the group of gremlins.

All of you are in a threatened square from the creature in some way or another except for Malthir.

The centipede finishes its action by lunging for Casimir whose armour provides no proof against the massive teeth. The centipedes massive jaw crunches into the duelist and an nasty crack sound is heard as Casimir's ribs break; the bite of the centipede almost engulfing the man and leaving him bruised and bloody all over, but still standing, albeit barely. Damage:1d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 1 = 8
I think Edric is misplaced as well I believe I was in -M,0. In either case if he kills the centipede he takes a five foot step into that square.

Round 4 action

Through the agony of the broken bones and bruised muscles, Casimir feels the poison sap the speed from his limbs. His body tries to combat the ongoing effect. Fort save 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

As Fenna's healing touch clears his hazy vision a bit, he looks about him to try and find a way to get clear of the monstrous centipede and the grenade rolling towards it.

He allows himself a moments grim pleasure as the flames of the alchemical substance continue to burn the giant vermin. Fire damage 1d6 ⇒ 5

Realizing that his only path to safety will expose him to yet another attack from the huge centipede as well as the remaining mite, he raises his blade in deft defensive maneuvers and whispers a quick prayer before making his way around the table, and into the south part of the room.

Fight on, Guardians - remember, things have looked grim before, yet we have always proven victorious!

Standard action: Total defense: +4 to AC, which is now 21 unless the poison reduces my dex further.
Move Action: Move south around the table to J2
Free Action: Maintain Inspire Courage

Fenna was in that square on your init count last round so I put you in the next convenient space.

Edric frantically hacks a centipede into small pieces and steps into position to fight another. The huge centipede hisses in agony as the alchemists fire continues to burn it.

Casimir Only:

Take 1d4 ⇒ 3 Dexterity damage.

Casimir lifts his blade into a guarded position and attempts to move away from the centipede, who lunges for him with its teeth in response. Casimir manages to evade the deadly teeth and get clear of the exotic grenades blast radius while deftly parrying the dagger of the mite, his movements still somewhat graceful despite the poison flooding his system.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
2d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 5) + 9 = 18

1d20 ⇒ 16
1d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Dingetooth continues to crawl towards the giant centipede, and with a massive lunge the centipede bites at Yelena while its tail simultaneously whips out to hit Fenna. The teeth pierce the witch's defences and the teeth sink into Yelena with a sickening crunch, and the centipede leaves the Tiefling unconcious and bleeding out on the ground. The tail slap is not so successful, as Fenna neatly leaps over the attack.

Yelena:

I have you on -2HP. I also need a DC19 fortitude save from you or take 1d4 ⇒ 2 dexterity damage.

Bite-
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
2d6 + 9 ⇒ (2, 6) + 9 = 17

Tail Slap-
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
1d3 ⇒ 1 Non-lethal Damage.

The deafened centipede lunges for Malthir once more, the Paladin's worn armour barely preventing the blow as the weary warrior continues to stumble clumsily..

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
1d6 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4

Round 5 Initiative-

Yelena- 23
Mites- 19
Malthir- 18
Fenna- 12
Female Mite- 6
Centipedes- 5
Edric- 4
Dingetooth- 4
Casimir- 3
Massive Centipede- 2
Deafened Centipede- 1

On the cruise so just catching up now. Alex you missed the fact that I attacked defensively on my attack in round 4 so my AC was 2 better which would have caused at least one or more of the attacks to miss. My AC was 18 prone or 22 standing for round 4 and 5 until my turn. I probably woulnd't bother mentioning it but we are on such dire straights I want to make sure we have every chance. The centipede handler I assume is evil so my AC vs. her is 21 (protection from evil spell on me) so she should have missed as well.
Willpower save 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 vs. her ability
Anyways I would attack longsword 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 7 + 1 - 2 = 24 damage 1d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7
Fort save 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

In case they are needed
Fort save 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
Fort save 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30

He calls out to the shaken knight, hoping to rally him from his frantic attack at the smaller centipedes.

Edric, for the love of all the gods - we need to take down this giant beast before it slays us all. Help me bring it low - I need your armor, your blade, your knight's challenge!

Edit: Mal, don't forget that's a possible crit - we still have keen edge on our blades.

I was attacking a centipede so it probably doesn't matter but just in case 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 1 - 2 = 7 dam 1d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 1 = 11

Lol - nope, that definitely won't matter. Good to hear that you probably have a bit more hp - looks like you're gonna need them.

Apologies for missing the defensive fighting- give yourself 6HP back Malthir as a quick ad-hoc fix. The dex poison stands though. Yelena can post out of init order as all she has to look forward to is a stabilisation roll. Malthir no further fort saves are required at present but i'll use those rolls if necessary.

Yelena's fate is unknown as blood slowly trickles from her wounds. The remaining mite gleefully stabs the fallen witch with his dagger but manages to completely miss, the mite being too wary of Fenna to attempt a coup de grace..

Malthir seems to hit his stride and slays another centipede, bolstering the flagging morale of the Guardians.

Fenna's up.

And to answer a question on MSN publicly... Yes Dingetooth the annoying mite has crawled INTO the blast radius of the grenade... It may have to be your TPK consolation to see him blown to smithereens...

Fenna frowns in concentration as she struggles to see a way for the battle to end well, then in a moment of what might be madness or genius steps out of the reach of the monstrosity's teeth and begins a prayer to Aroden, making no effort to maintain her guard.

5' step back then cast cure light wounds on Yelena provoking an AoO from the massive centipede. 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Concentration in case it hits, 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

"Now, Edric!" She calls.

Here's hoping the thing doesn't have combat reflexes...

Oh and-

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 Centipede

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 Dingetooth

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 Mite

Dingetooth and his fellow mite are blown apart by the force of the grenade as it explodes, and the centipede is badly wounded by Yelena's alchemical device as well. Fenna gets her spell off as the centipede is distracted by Casimir's retreat, healing Yelena.

The last remaining Mite, the female handler of the centipedes, steps away from the melee, drawing a dart and throwing it at the heavily wounded Casimir, but the dart falls woefully short.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
1d3 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

The remaining, undeafened Centipede continues to lash out at Malthir with its teeth, but doesn't penetrate his defences.-

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
1d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Edric's up.

Male Human Cavalier (Order of the Dragon) 1

As Edric continues to hack madly at the centipedes;
Attack:1d20 + 5 - 2 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 5 - 2 - 2 + 1 = 21
Damage:1d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 = 9

the calls from his comrades break through to the knight and he looks back to see Yelena lying in a pool of her own blood. For a second it looks as if Edric will once again loose himself to his fear but, gritting his teeth, he turns towards the vile monstrosity that has wrecked so much havoc with the Guardians. With a mighty cry Edric rushes forward;
We shall send you back to the pit of hell you have crawled from beast!

Crap. That's all I have to say. I'll start prepping a new character, just in case.

Please see Fenna's action- you should be concious now on a small number of positive HP despite failing the roll to stabilise- so you can act next round. I'll need another fortitude save in round 6 too. Edric thats a crit threat on your last attack, but no pressure to roll it as the hit's dropping the centipede anyway. Casimir's up next.

Edric slays another centipede swiftly with an expert sword stroke, and repositions himself.

Also Edric- i've moved you where you requested, but if you wanted to you could move into melee range with the big centipede as its attack of opportunity for the rounds been used up.

If I can get within Melee than please move me there.

My mistake!

Yelena struggles to her feet, woozy from the loss of blood. She stares about in a stupor as she attempts to gain her senses. Her limbs twitch and jerk from the poison coursing through her veins.

You should be out of range anyway, if it has a 10 feet radius.
