Fenna winces in an expression reminiscent of the battle against Kressle, hopping down from her pony she steps up behind Casimir and places her hand on his back. "Mighty Aroden, please bolster this noble warrior with your light." she pleads in Azlanti.
Dismount east, then 5' step east and CLW on Casimir 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 (Eep, that might have done more harm than good.)

I will be out for a few hours so just in case you need my action I will put it in a spoiler to open when it gets to my turn so it doesn't influence any actions

Vaysh backs away a little from the creature, and invokes a ray of celestial fury at the evil creature, but narrowly misses.

1d4Edric I need your round 1 action.
I don't think Edric has posted since Tuesday, we may want to run him a little through this....talk to you guys tomorrow.
Casimir
He did mention something about moving, so he may not have had the time or have lost internet connection. I'd say it's safe to run his actions until he shows signs of life.
I suggest he spends his standard action to activate the shield wall, move into position if needed, and direct Talia to attack.

Sir Edric Round One
Form Shield Wall! Edric roars at Casimir and Malthir, as he wheels Talia around to stand beside Casimir.

1d20 - 2 ⇒ (18) - 2 = 16

One of Talia's hooves slams into the disgusting creature, dealing significant damage.
Just saw Casimir ninjaed the intended actions I have put lol.

The trollhound continues to viciously lash out at the unfortunate Casimir...
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Casimir cries out in alarm as the hound gets around his blade and shield, only for Edric to ram his shield in between Casimir and the beast at the last second. The trollhound's wounds continue to heal...
Edric Round 2 Action-
From the top of his steed, Edric unleashes his fury upon the beast...
Ride check for Talia's attacks
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Talia's Attacks-
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
1d20 - 2 ⇒ (18) - 2 = 16
1d20 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1
1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Talia bites and stamps at the beast, and the trollhound lets out a cry of pain at the blows, just as Edric thrues his longsword at the hound, completely overreaching with his sword arm and missing.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Moments later, Malthir screams Die Beast! and thrusts his longsword into the creature, and it collapses from the many wounds it has received.
Out of initiative order for one round, maybe more... The beast is unconcious, but even now you can see its wounds healing rapidly... Time for a coup de grace perhaps?
Malthir Al' Dagon
Yes we will spend a round hacking at the beast , opening its throat for the blood to flow freely. We should fill the gourd and my waterskin. Does the gourd have a stopper or top? My want to fill that empty shield of faith potion container, if you kept it, as well. Don't know why we wouldn't have?
Wow, that was close Cas, I thought it had you for a second. Let's get this grim duty over with and then figure out our next steps.
What time is it at this point? Should we use this area to camp? What other items are here, we will searcht he camp, hoping to find out who these poor souls were that this beast finished. If the gourd has no stopper, I suggest we get the blood to Bokken the next day and finish searching Oleg's hex before heading to the boar area.

Its mid afternoon. You have time to finish exploring the hex, you'll just finish later than usual.
You take your fill of the beast's blood before searching the camp. It appears the trollhound even ate the people's clothes, leaving only their bones lying in the sun... The camp appeared to belong to a group of hunters, taking a late lunch. You find-
-Three spears.
-Three crossbows.
-One longspear Vaysh you might consider grabbing this, take advantage of the Sorceror's full simple weapon proficiency).
-Four small barrels of ale.
-22 gold pieces, 34 silver pieces, 87 copper pieces.
-A rack of skins, freshly skinned from Elk by the looks of it.
With the beast slain and the blood drained, you finish mapping out Oleg's hex and settle in at Oleg's for the evening...
133XP for everyone, and the 50XP for hex exploration and helping Fang if you hadn't already noted it down.

We should bury the bones to honor the fallen dead and see if we can find anything to identify who these people where. Maybe that we can at least deliver these goods to the family to help them somewhat through their loss
We dig a small grave and put the remains in it. I say a few words to Iomedae to honor them.
We are sure to build a fire in the pit and throw the troll-hounds remains in it and make sure it is very, very dead.
Can we keep the cleaned skull after the skin is off of it, will it regenerate? I think we should keep it to show the wolf Fang and the alpha that we are not their enemies and in fact we have mutual enemies.
Back at Olegs's we will ask him and some of the other hunters if they knew these men, showing them their equipment before doing anything with their items.
If we go back to Bokken's the next morning, we should ask him to identify the green herbal liquid we found that we don't have identified.
Fenna, you good with this and then move on to the next hex?
Alex, updating Oleg's map hex later today
Casimir
Am I cool in regards to any lingering effects of the trollhounds bite?
Cayden's codpiece, that was close. I swear, if you had not gotten your shield between me and the beast, Sir Edric, you would be digging an extra grave.
Casimir helps bury the remains of the hunters and agrees that their identities should be investigated if possible, and their gear returned to any surviving kin.
Scouting the remains of the area, returning to Oleg's for the night and then to Bokken in the morning sound like a good plan. We can the go after Tuskgutter as we originally planned.
Fenna, do you think Aroden would favor me with some more of your healing gift? Casimir is 7 hp from max
At Oleg's, Casimir will mingle with the hunters as usual.

The green liquid was some kind of herbal alcohol as far as you could tell, non-magical. You take the hounds skull, it won't regenerate :).
Let me know if your up to anything at oleg's, and tell me what your plans are for the next day.
As Cas mentions ride quickly to Bokken's, drop off the blood, and then go back accross the southern part of Oleg's hex on the way to scouting the area southwest of Oleg's. Does he have the Prot. x2 and Bless potions ready?
Mix with the guards specifically and hunters as Casimir does trying to continue to build friendships with them. Any news on the equipment we brought back from the dead hunters and anyone knowing who they are?

"Of course," Fenna replies to Casimir, placing her hands over his wound and once more calling out for the blessings of Aroden to heal him 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6.
"Yes, we should bring the blood to Bokken first thing in the morning, though it is unlikely to be of much use without the hair from the unicorn's mane to go with it. Perhaps we should head west after we have dealt with Tuskgutter, to where the creature was last seen?"
Looking at the remains in sympathy, Fenna helps to organise a suitable burial for them, working under the assumption that they, like many folks in the area, are followers of Erastil.

He did mention something about moving, so he may not have had the time or have lost internet connection.
C. All of the above. We are now moved in and have internet set up. Just finished reading through and wow did I miss a lot! Everything looks good to me so I'll just be picking up here, so I’m not slowing things down trying to post on everything that I missed.
Perhaps we should see if there is someone at Oleg's that we can trust and give them the blood to take to Bokken so that we can head first thing in the morning to find the Unicorn.
Fenna Thistleswade
"In honesty," Fenna says to Edric, "we are very unlikely to find a unicorn by looking blindly. I believe that it would be best for us to continue on with our original plan of heading towards Tuskgutter's last known location and hope that the wolf pack has some information about how we might find the unicorn."

Plus it would be good to have our defensive potions from Bokken, they should be ready by now. Don't worry Fenna, Tuskgutter will be ours in the next few days, Iomedae will lead us to it, I feel it. Edric, if we are meant to meet the unicorn soon, the Lady of the Sword will provide there as well! I will not let that boy down.
Malthir continues his unwielding faith in the Lady of the Sword...
DM Alexander Kilcoyne
Sorry, busy day. I'm going to narrate through some of the stuff rather than RPing it out today just to speed things up a little :).
During the evening there is the usual mingling of travellers and locals at Oleg's. Casimir tells a fine tale of their battle with the Trollhound, and although no one is sure who the travellers were, Casimir earns himself 8 silver pieces from appreciative hunters.
Malthir befriends an old and grizzly hunter named Durn, who tells the group that a group of Taldane once tried to settle these lands, but their attempt failed, with most of them perishing and the rest fleeing the harsh lands. However, there's a local rumour that they did discover a gold mine somewhere near the Thorn River.
Kesten Garess also approaches the group, and tells them that the Swordlord's have become aware of a Kobold tribe called the Sootscales somewhere in the Kamelands, a fair distance to the south near Nettle's crossing. Apparently something has stirred them up and sightings have increased dramatically- the Swordlord's want the situation stabilised one way or another, and they promise 1,000 gold pieces once either they have been wiped out or if an alliance is forged with them.
The next morning is a cold one, and the group shiver as they head to Bokken's. Reaching his hut, the Guardians drop off the Trollhound bloodand pick up any potions they requested of Bokken. The boy Nikolaj has yet to wake up...
Bokken also mentions that hes running short of a rare alchemical ingredient known as Fangberry juice. He promises the group a discount on his potions if they can gather a basket of these berries for him. The Guardians then proceed to the next hex, directly south of Oleg's and following the forest's edge.
Malthir, this is the hex down and right from Oleg's.

Karina travelled through this area on her way to the ford camp, and seems to have remembered many of the landmarks and trails through the hex. Despite starting the exploration and mapping late, your making exceptionally good progress throughout the day when you come across a strange site- a roughly circular area of radius 200 feet with many different skeletons- horses, boars, deer and human shaped. Your currently stood at the edge of this radius- but it's clear something dangerous lives in this area...
There are a lot of large spider webs scattered around the area...
This looks like the work of a trapdoor spider- a vicious, giant spider that leaps out of its home and strikes before quickly retreating behind the safety of its 'trapdoor'. These trapdoor spiders lack powerful webs and do not use web-spinning to hunt or catch prey.

I don't like the looks of this, I wonder what could be causing these deaths. We should dismount see what caused this
Malthir suggests that Fenna summon an ally as far as she can into the circle and send it towards the center to try and maybe draw out what is in there.

You see nothing detecting as magic, but bear in mind the radius is only 60 feet.
Casimir
Good idea, Malthir. Whatever lives here must be dangerous. Better to be careful. Karina, can you stay here and watch the horses again?
Casimir dismounts and draws his sword. He also unfastens the pouches on his bandoleer for easy access to potions and alchemical items.
We should decide who carries which of the potions from Bokken. I'm up for one of the Prot. from evil.

I would suggest that Casimir and Edric carry them since I have smite evil which gives me a deflection bonus.
We should be standing next to Edric in order to form the shield wall with Fenna and Vaysh behind us standing right at the edge of the radius.
Lets see what the summons brings us.
Fenna Thistleswade
Fenna looks over the bone-strewn area, judging the distance to the centre and pulling out a stick of incense. Setting the tip to burn, she begins a chant in honour of Aroden and his celestial servitors, gradually increasing in tempo until reaching a crescendo that results in a burst of silver light about 25' into the field, from which emerges a canine with flowing golden fur, running towards the middle of the bones.
Summon a celestial riding dog 25' into the area, which runs 120' further towards the centre. It lasts 1 round before returning to Axis.
Casimir
That depends...do we have a clear view of the entire area? If we lose sight of the dog, it won't do us much good.
In any event, Casimir sheathes his sword again and draws out his bow, nooks an arrow and prepares to fire on anything that might attack the summoned dog. Readied action

Sorry all but i've had a hell of a couple of days, and haven't had a chance to map this encounter as I wanted to :(
Following behind the summoned hound, the group barely have time to react as a giant spider suddenly scuttles out from underneath a large log, moves in and bites the hound viciously, before scuttling back into its hole with the same speed. The hound dissipates a moment later, its cries of pain lingering for a moment as it returns to its celestial realm.
Round 1 Initiative
Post monster ate the post the first time but this is how the initiative came out-
Big Nasty Spider- 22
Malthir- 20
Fenna- 18
Casimir- 9
Vaysh- 7
Edric- 2
Situation- Your about 30 feet from the spider's den. You have line of sight to it, but the spider has cover from the log its using as a 'lid' to its den. The spider is black, hairy and is a medium sized creature. I have you roughly in this formation mentally-
F M
- TE
V C
With T representing Talia's rear end as always. Feel free to use readied actions; likely your best move against the spring-attacking
Scuttering forward from its cover once more, Malthir and Casimir get a shot off on the spider each-
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Casimir Bow
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 Malthir Javelin
Both of the warriors seem taken aback by the size of the creature, and both of their projectiles fly well over the spider's form. It finishes its attack by attempting to sink its huge teeth into Malthir...
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
The sight could almost be amusing were it not so deadly, as the spider leaps at Malthir and effectively bounces off of his well-crafted armour.
After making its attack, the spider scuttles into its den once more.
Over to the Guardians.
Vaysh
Spider Lair
Vaysh dismounts as the Guardians decide to see what Fenna’s scout will uncover. At the site of the spider, she moves a step closer and begins her standard combat incantation.
Day is done, dusk is here, my dreamer do not fear.
Back. Sorry I haven’t been around for a couple days. Hope nobody missed me too much.
I made the change to the party loot to reflect Malthir taking 18.6 gp out of it. He did this to cover the potions at Bokken’s.
Since I dropped for a bit, can I get un update on the total XP that we are at? Thank you.
Perception 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17
Back btw.
Casimir
Casimir drops his bow and yanks his dueling sword free of it's scabbard. Raising it high, he waits for the spider to jump forth and attack again.
Be careful - those jaws look deadly. Best we stand our ground and wait for it's next attack. Edric, should we get the Shield wall up?
Round 1 Action
free action to drop the bow, move action to draw the sword, readied standard action to strike at the spider if it attacks again, including a 5 ft step to get into position.
Rolls to use
Attack roll 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Damage roll 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Round 1 Action
Malthir pulls out his sword as a move action and readies an action to attack the spider as it tries to attack again as well as forming the shield wall. That is one large spider, agreed lets see if it comes out to strike again and line up.
AC will be 20 with the shield wall.
pwr atk 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 damage 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Fenna Thistleswade
Fenna's eyes widen in shock at the fast movement of the spider, though her immediate compassion for the suffering of the celestial creature is quickly dismissed by her rational understanding of the cosmological rules which apply to the summoning of such beings.
When the spider launches itself ineffectively against Malthir, she moves up behind him, ready to call upon the healing powers of her god should the next attack prove more dangerous.
