I've been worried about Damersel, too. I understand that real life takes priority, but the lack of communication is what bothers me. I don't think 1 post/weekday is unreasonable for a player, and at the very least just let us know you're swamped and can't post in full today or this week, whatever. But the lack of any level of engagement makes me think that the player's withdrawal is inevitable and, worse, will probably be unannounced. So it's left to the rest to decide when the player's quit playing for him. Which sucks for us, because nobody wants to be the bad guy if the player actually has a good excuse...

Agreed. No one wants to be the bad guy. I would hope he would be understanding though, as Im sure he would expect any of us to be if the situation were reversed.

I hope he's ok. I think maybe the group should keep going for a while and see if he shows up. We can get to or through another encounter with him as an NPC, maybe? Recruit again after that? Just suggestions.

TBH, one of the reasons I've been worried about Damersel in particular is because if you look at his other aliases, he has a history of disappearing without notice.
He left a game he was DMing without notice, but he still posted here, so I don't think something tragic happened to him. I think he's just resistant to recognize that he doesn't have time to participate in these games. The result is a gradual withdrawal and disappearance, instead of a forthright concession that lets the group figure out how to continue the game with the least interruption.

Oh, and help me remember: My Knowledge/Memory Subdomain power is Recall.
With a touch, I can have you re-roll any Knowledge skill check made in the last minute, with an insight bonus equal to my Int mod (+3).

I think I like Jericho Mason the most at this point (with Jericho's post being the last one posted). Tom's idea for him sounds interesting.
The other concepts sounds good too, though, so I wouldnt be opposed to any of them in general.
Tom's my DM in a pbp Second Darkness and so far has shown good reliability. I know he posts a lot from a phone so his access to the boards is pretty good.

TBH, I'm kinda hoping more people apply. I think an armored melee character would balance this party best. We're all strikers, with no defenders.

Yea, Im finding it kinda strange how few people applied to the last, and are applying to this one. Could possibly be cause of Cloud's specificness in what we are looking for, but that doesnt seemt to stop other games from getting alot of responses.
I wonder if its cause of which AP it is...

FWIW, while Rutter is correct, I care less about if their build is optimized than if they can post everyday. We can start balancing party abilities if we can gain some levels! For that, we must post.
I don't know if the AP is the issue. Interesting question.
I like Jericho's shiver addiction and his other concepts.
And a mobile fighter can still be a tank. The extra abilities are not hampered by armor or based on speed.

Are we still on track for Jericho to join us soon? We've just joined the guard, but according to his background, he's left the guard and joined a militia. Unless he wants to tweak it to having left the Sable Company or the Hellknights and joined the guard.

Also, the 1000 gp for the mission that we just received. Rutter doesn't need any of the items (they're too big for him) - he'll take his portion in gold and/or gems.
Should we be charged the market price for the items we claim from a stash or the selling price? I guess the market price is more fair for those who have specific items they need to purchase that we're not likely to find, such as wands. But that discourages us from claiming equipment that can be useful short-term, but doesn't fit our long-term vision of our character. For example, Rutter might not want to claim a +1 dagger now for 2000gp, because my ultimate vision for him is to dual wield kukris, but if he was charged the same price he could sell it for later, he might go ahead and take it for now.
HP roll: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21 (nice use of a 20)
Real HP roll: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 (stupid dice roller - if we can use the average...)

I would figure anyone wanting gear from the list would take it for the market sell price, as part of their share. So Rutter could take the dagger for 1000 (cause thats what we would get for selling it anyway), and then when he gets tired of it, he could sell it for that himself.
