Only GMs get to roll 2d615. : P
Thank you for the dot and circle, Zamanda. That saves me a lot of time.
Also, Ilsa, if you want to attempt to intimidate Rolth, that’s fine, but that won’t officially happen till you’re up in initiative. Same for Kalem’s attack.
Zamanda, in response to Kalem asking her to be ready for a fireball, as soon as she sees His Evilness Davaulus, she points at the middle of the room, attempting to burn Davaulus, the crazy man she doesn't know, and all of their several henchmen. The aasimar’s ball of fire explodes in the center of the room, engulfing all of its inhabitants.
Rolth looks mostly unharmed by Zamanda’s spell, but Davaulus looks worse for wear. Neither of the physicians look injured at all. Most of the cultists appear to have been seared by the bard’s spell as well.
The vats themselves still look intact after the blast, though their shells are blackened and flames now rise from their open tops.
Rolth Reflex Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Davaulus Reflex Save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Blue Physician Reflex Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Red Physician Reflex Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Blue Cultist Reflex Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Red Cultist Reflex Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Yellow Cultist Reflex Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Green Cultist Reflex Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Grey Cultist Reflex Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Pink Cultist Reflex Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Rolth, still grinning, says, “Now that wasn’t very nice, young lady. I’ll have to be sure to dissect your hands first. I’m sure their magical properties will be intriguing." He then casts a spell at Zamanda, but she resists it entirely. Zamanda Will Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 Zamanda, I’m pretty sure your Will Saves are +7 now, but please correct me if I’m wrong.
Davaulus shouts at the rest of his allies in the room, “Slay these intruders, that you may honor she whom you worship. Slay them and glory in their deaths.” The cultists, physicians, Rolth, and even Davaulus himself look a bit more courageous after his brief oration. The doctor continues saying the occasional morbid quip every few seconds.
Blue Physician moves forward and attempts to whack Kalem with his club. He connects, but barely does any damage after the bloodrager’s damage reduction. Blue Physician Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 1 = 24Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 = 4
Red Physician moves up and tries to hit Bashiel, but isn’t as successful. Red Physician Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 1 = 15
Blue Cultist moves forward, readying to strike anyone who gets past the physicians. Blue Readied Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 = 8
Red Cultist also moves forward and readies a strike. Red Readied Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 1 = 26
Damage: 2d4 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (2, 3) + 3 + 1 = 9 (Attack and Damage will apply to whoever gets in range of him first)
Yellow Cultist dips his scythe into the vat below him before moving toward you, his weapon now flaming and dripping with the vat’s foul concoction. 1d4 ⇒ 2
Green Cultist, Grey Cultist, and Pink Cultist do likewise. 3d4 ⇒ (3, 2, 4) = 9

My intimidate was mainly for pre-combat effect. I'm not going to use an action on that.
Ilsa reserves her ire for the defiant Rolth. Her gaze bores into him.
"So be it!" she yells back.
She wills him to break into a fit of bizarre, incontrollable babbling. Primarily, to shut him up.
Use Hypnotic Stare on Rolth (-2 Will and Attack), cast Babble on him (he happens to be 40' away, which is precisely my spell range for this spell. If it happens to work, anyone within 30' of him (none of the party) is affected.

GM.Zek |

Ilsa, remember that Rolth's standing 10 ft up on the catwalk, so he's actually a bit further away than 40 ft.

Kalem Darkborn |

Round 1
Hit: 25 = 25
Damage: 24 = 24
Kalem shrugged off the blow and then swung back, pulverizing the foe. The physicians weren’t the danger, it was the other combatants. With their scythes. He prepared to defend against it...
Current AC24. If a 24-27 is rolled against Kalem by anyone besides a physician he will use stone shield for +4 AC. He can do this 2 times

Zamanda |

Erp, yes, you are correct about the saves. I obviously haven't been diligent in updating everything. Yikes. Thanks for the catch.
Zamanda eyes Davaulus, but decides to shoot at closer enemies for a safer shot. There was time for Davaulus.
Angry, and with a touch of her fireball magic still swirling in her brain, she wonders if she can deliver a spell using her bow. She decides to try. She casts scorching ray, and then attempts to deliver it with an arrow at Red Physician:
(Scorching Ray delivered by means of Arrowsong Strike)
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 1 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Scorching Ray: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 5) = 14 (fire damage)
It seems to work, and she smiles at Davaulus, hoping she can do the same to him soon.

![]() |

Okay, shoot. I thought it was a great Babble plan. If Kalem or Bashiel drop their enemy, I'll delay and yell for them to step forward so I can take a 5' step up and still cast the spell defensively. If that doesn't work, I'll instead cast grease under all four of those at the door (DC 16 Refl).
concentration: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24

Bashiel Eland |

Davaulus was a bard all along? Also, now would've been a great time for my Angelic Bond. Shame there was no way to ensure we had them bottled up so we could get a good night's rest.
Bashiel calls out to the two vile men ahead. "Davaulus, Lamm, you bastards have gone unchecked far too long. By my blade I'll strike you down. And may Կենդանի Տերը կստանա ձեր երկրորդ հնարավորությունը, եթե արժե նրանց!" Full of righteous anger as he is, and with his mind filled with a clamor of ancestral calls to action, Bashiel's speech cuts between modern common and Ancient Osiriani. As he invokes his god's name, his blade flashes with green-gold light in recognition.
Declaring Ghostly Smite on Rolth as swift. AC +2 vs. him, +2 to hit and +7 to dmg.
He turns his attention to the small fry in the front, advancing into them with powerful swing of his longsword. Starting from red, 5ft stepping into him if he falls, and then preferentially striking blue mask if he's still up.
Longsword, PA: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 13 - 2 = 20
Longsword damage (S): 1d8 + 8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 6 = 22

Longsword damage (S): 1d8 + 8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 6 = 17
Ilsa, I'm going to bet you have a clear babble position :>

GM.Zek |

Bashiel, to be fair, Davaulus didn’t exactly get much of an opportunity to show off his abilities when you last met. And he’s not necessarily exclusively a bard.
Zamanda, I read the Arrowsong Strike and Spellstrike abilities more than once and I’ll still not 100% certain, but I think you need to hit with a normal ranged attack, not just a touch one, to deliver the spell via your ranged attack.
Ilsa delays.
Kalem shrugged off the blow and then swung back, pulverizing the foe. The physicians weren’t the danger, it was the other combatants. With their scythes. He prepared to defend against it even as the blue physician fell dead to the ground.
He turns his attention to the small fry in the front, advancing into them with powerful swing of his longsword. While his blade strikes true, it takes both swings to bring down the red physician.
Bashiel then steps forward, triggering the blue cultist’s readied attack. The cultist’s scythe cuts into Bashiel’s arm.
Ilsa comes off delay and takes a step forward. She also reserves her ire for the defiant Rolth. Her gaze bores into him.
"So be it!" she yells back.
She wills him to break into a fit of bizarre, uncontrollable babbling. Primarily, to shut him up. But his toothy grin remains. Rolth Will Save: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 7 - 2 = 22
Zamanda eyes Davaulus, but decides to shoot at closer enemies for a safer shot. There was time for Davaulus. Angry, and with a touch of her fireball magic still swirling in her brain, she wonders if she can deliver a spell using her bow. She decides to try. She casts scorching ray, and then attempts to deliver it with an arrow at the red cultist. She finds them harder to hit than the physicians were and her arrow misses.
Rolth, continuing to grin, shakes his head at Ilsa. “Now, now, now. That’s not very nice either. I’ll be hard pressed to decide which of you two young ladies’ hands I want to dissect first.”
“And you,” Rolth says, pointing at Bashiel. “You need to calm down.” Then the necromancer casts a spell at the paladin. Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 1 = 151d4 ⇒ 3
Bashiel suddenly feels weaker as the spell strikes him, all his skills somehow reduced. You have acquired 3 temporary negative levels, Bashiel.
Davaulus continues giving his morbid but inspirational quips and also casts a spell at Kalem. The tiefling shrugs off whatever effects the doctor had intended. Kalem Will Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Blue Physician is dead.
Red Physician is dead.
Blue Cultist takes a step forward and swings his scythe at Kalem, but misses. Blue Cultist Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 1 = 22
Red Cultist swings his own scythe at the weakened Bashiel, but also misses. Red Cultist Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 1 = 10

Kalem Darkborn |

Hit Blue: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32
Damage: 2d6 + 15 ⇒ (6, 2) + 15 = 23
This wasn’t good! They were attacking through a wall of idiotically suicidal cultists. Kalem took the head off another. Bit by bit he’d fight his way through...
Hit Red if Bashiel makes space: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Damage: 2d6 + 15 ⇒ (6, 3) + 15 = 24

Bashiel Eland |

@Party: I really don't like our current bottleneck because the enemy team has way too much ranged scariness and we're kept at bay. Why don't we withdraw and let them come to us?
@Zek: Some corrections and questions (enough that you'll regret showing your rolls in the open):
You say the blue cultist landed a readied attack, but his attack roll is a 8. If you meant the red cultist landed a readied attack, his own attack roll is a 26, which would also miss Bashiel's AC 27.
And because this player sure as heck doesn't want to be hit with Enervation, I'm not sure if your attack roll for Rolth is correct. Did he take a -4 penalty for ranged attack into melee (assuming he doesn't have precise shot)? Bashiel's Touch AC with smite evil up and with soft cover from Red Cultist is 17. And Ilsa's hypnotic stare applies to attack rolls in addition to Will saves, so thats another -2 to his attack roll.

![]() |

Ilsa scowls as Lamm shrugs off her spell. She could feel a diminishment of her mental powers, and knew she wouldn't be able to cast that spell again.
I'll come for you later!
Remaining determined but switching tactics, she turns her gaze to Davaulus. She could feel waves of fear welling up inside her. Rather than giving in, she pushes them out toward the enemy.
First, I'll switch my hypnotic stare to Devaulus (-2 Will, -2 Attack). I'll then cast Fear (DC 18 Will, and Devaulus has to roll twice and take the worst result from Nightmare ability). This should affect everyone in front of us in a 30' cone, and Bashiel is immune to it.

GM.Zek |

I did mean blue cultist, but like you said, even then he doesn't hit. I'm not used to 27 (!!) AC yet.
You're also correct about Rolth's attack. He doesn't have Precise Shot. I thought about Ilsa's hypnotic stare afterwards, but I didn't think it would be enough to make a difference at the time. You don't have negative levels. Yay!

Bashiel Eland |

@Ilsa: I've drawn your 30ft fear cone in with light blue, using the template on slide 5. An awesome number of targets caught! Sweet combo with Paladin fear immunity.
@Zek: Thanks Zek! Breathing a sigh of relief for Bashiel. 3 negative levels is a death sentence :O
Bashiel glares at the two ringleaders as more of their sycophants crowd in to block the way forward. "You can't hide behind your followers forever!" (Ghostly Smite on Davaulus) "And you!" He turns his attention to the cultist followers "May Osiris grant you mercy in your next life."
He brings his longsword against blue if he's still up, then red. If both are down, he instead readies to attack the next cultist that approaches. Want to keep exposed sides limited so he can't get flanked by those flaming scythes.
Longsword, PA: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 13 - 2 = 18
Longsword damage (S): 1d8 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 4 = 14
Longsword, PA, iterative: 1d20 + 13 - 2 - 5 ⇒ (16) + 13 - 2 - 5 = 22
Longsword damage (S): 1d8 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 4 = 11

Zamanda |

Hmm. You could be right. Too bad. I wanted to show off my new skill, but with that in mind, overall it seems like just casting the spell would have been way better... would have been easier to hit, and would have gotten two rays instead of one with no -2 for having to do rapid shot to deliver them both. I don't think the extra damage is worth it unless you have a higher bonus or more spells to throw around, so that you are more sure of hitting and not wasting a spell. Maybe I'll try again in a few levels, or when I get a much nicer bow.
Zamanda begins to summon a swarm of bats.
Full-round action. Summoning to the red square. (Last 2nd level spell.)

GM.Zek |

Thank you again for the cones/boxes. Really appreciate those.
Kalem took the head off another. Bit by bit he’d fight his way through… The blue cultist falls. Going to assume you don’t move forward in order to accommodate Ilsa’s spell.
Bashiel brings his longsword against red, ending another cultist’s threat.
Ilsa, remaining determined but switching tactics, turns her gaze to Davaulus. She could feel waves of fear welling up inside her. Rather than giving in, she pushes them out toward the enemy. Davaulus and the yellow cultist seem unaffected by the mesmerist’s spell, but the green cultist looks ready to flee in terror.
Davaulus Will Save: 1d20 + 9 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 9 + 1 - 2 = 22Davaulus Will Save, Nightmare Reroll: 1d20 + 9 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 9 + 1 - 2 = 21

Welp, you’re trying, Ilsa. : 3
Zamanda begins to summon a swarm of bats.
Rolth growls through gritted teeth as he observes the situation unfolding from his perch above. Pointing at Bashiel again, he says, “You still need to calm down. I won’t have you making a mess of these operations.” Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 1 = 14 I’m pretty sure that hits this time.
Bashiel Fort Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27 You’re fatigued for 8 minutes, Bashiel.
Davaulus draws his rapier as he moves toward Bashiel, saying as he goes, “Twice now you have tried and failed to affect me with your pitiful magic. Perhaps it’s time for you to realize the futility of your actions. Korvosa is already plagued. Those who need to die, will die. All you’re ensuring is that there will be four additional victims.”
The Doctor stabs at Bashiel, but his blow bounces harmlessly off the paladin’s armor. Davaulus Attack: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 10 + 1 - 2 - 2 = 17
Blue Cultist is dead.
Red Cultist is dead.
Yellow Cultist advances and swings his scythe at Bashiel, but the paladin’s defenses once again prove to be impregnable. Yellow Cultist Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 1 - 2 = 17
Green Cultist drops his scythe and lets out an undignified scream before running as fast as he can away from Ilsa. Green is on the ground floor below the catwalk, fwiw.
Grey Cultist moves forward and readies an attack for the first enemy to get in range. Grey Cultist Readied Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 1 = 21Damage: 2d4 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (4, 2) + 3 + 1 = 10

Kalem stepped forward, and seeing the doctor, swung his hammer. It ignited with flames as he did so. All of the foes were targeting Bashiel. He would teach them the folly of ignoring him. Though, he decided that he’d need some new armor soon. He didn’t think his chain shirt would cut it if they targeted him like they did the paladin.

Yep, Bashiel's fatigued unless he had soft cover from something when Rolth fired the ray. Adjusted his stat line AC and reflex to reflect fatigue.

Ilsa knew her spell didn't work as well as it should have because she still retained some of the fear within herself. Still, she knew she could rely on her companions to push forward.

Kalem stepped forward, and seeing the doctor, he swung his hammer. It ignited with flames as he did so. All of the foes were targeting Bashiel. He would teach them the folly of ignoring him. Though, he decided that he’d need some new armor soon. He didn’t think his chain shirt would cut it if they targeted him like they did the paladin. His hammer smashes into Davaulus’s side, but the doctor remains upright. The tiefling’s second strike is less successful and can’t make it through the cultist’s armor.
Bashiel says, "Enough, you madman!" as he focuses his words, and his fury, against the 'Doctor'. As he swings, his longsword trails green-gold light. A great flare of light bursts forth as his blow falls upon Davaulus. The paladin’s first blow is dealt with holy fervor, his longsword slicing through Davaulus’s armor and opening the doctor from left to right. A second blow isn’t needed.
As the doctor begins to fall to the ground, you can hear him whisper, “...in his name…”

Before Davaulus’s body actually has a chance to fall over, Ilsa’s stare rouses him back to temporary unlife. He stands upright and sways back and forth in place, not unlike the zombie Ilsa had somehow controlled before. Ilsa, to avoid having to post Davaulus’s whole stat block, just let me know where you want him to go and what you want him to do and I’ll make the appropriate rolls. His movement speed is 30 ft. You can specify two rounds worth of actions for him in your next post.
Zamanda continues to concentrate on the swarm as it appears. The bats proves to be quite effective as Rolth suddenly grabs his stomach in pain. Rolth Fort Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Rolth is hunched over as the bats surround him. “Accursed bats! I think I’ve determined which one of you I’ll start dissecting first,” Rolth says, directing the comment at Zamanda.
The necromancer hobbles out of proximity of the swarm before retreating along the catwalk.
Davaulus sways in place. To the casual observer, it’s not clear how he’s still standing, considering that half his guts are now strewn on the floor from Bashiel’s blow.
Yellow Cultist slashes at Kalem, but misses. He then takes a step back to make room for another cultist. Yellow Cultist Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Grey Cultist steps forward and slashes at Kalem as well, but also misses. Grey Cultist Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Kalem stared in horror and fascination at the zombie doctor. But then Rolth, obviously worse for wear, began to hobble away. ”Oh no you don’t!” he muttered as he ducked beneath a scythe and took off after him. ”Zombie the gap! He’s not getting away.” Kalem sprinted. Scenes of the manor and the torture above fresh in his mind. The bastard wasn’t getting away so easily. He just hoped that Ilsa could control the zombie doctor well enough to fill in his place at the doorway.
Acrobatics avoid AOO and double move: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Zamanda |

Technically, I have no control over the bat movement. They can fly 40 feet and they are supposed to go to whoever/whatever is closest. I'll move them, but if you disagree, please adjust as you see fit.
Zamanda still continues to concentrate on the swarm spell, though it is all she can do to keep them cohesive as they start flying in more than one direction. The bats finally move as a group to the west and begin to snack on the pink cultist.
Also, that "keeping them cohesive" thing was just flavor. The bats stay for 2 rounds after I stop concentrating.
Bat Bite Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Yeah, that was a pretty satisfying end to the good Dr. He's not done yet! Since Kalem is already going after Laam, I'll go ahead and have the doctor turn on his former allies and attack them. I will also undo my stare, so no negatives to attack. That's pretty cool!
Ilsa watches as the dead doctor remains on his feet. She mentally directs him to turn on his fellows and attack them.
There is great fear in me--but I'm going to push it outward. They want me to be scared of dissection? I will not fear them--they will fear ME!

Bashiel Eland |

Since Ilsa didn't say anything, I'm not sure if Bashiel would lay off the attack if Davaulus just kept standing after being disemboweled - that could be some weird Urgathoan magic, after all. That said, I wanna see how this awesome ability works, so...
With Davaulus disemboweled, Bashiel turns his attention on the still living cultists trying to assault Ilsa. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees the doctor standing- and curiously enough turning upon their foes- but it doesn't yet register in the heat of battle. He unleashes another pair of strikes on the grey cultist, advancing to strike yellow if the grey one falls.
Longsword, PA: 1d20 + 13 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 13 - 2 - 1 = 28
Longsword damage (S): 1d8 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 4 = 17
Longsword, PA, iterative: 1d20 + 13 - 2 - 1 - 5 ⇒ (11) + 13 - 2 - 1 - 5 = 16
Longsword damage (S): 1d8 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 4 = 12
He spares a glance towards the south, where Kalem is running Rolth down.

GM.Zek |

Kalem stared in horror and fascination at the zombie doctor. But then Rolth, obviously worse for wear, began to hobble away. “Oh no you don’t!” he muttered as he ducked beneath a scythe and took off after him. “Zombie the gap! He’s not getting away.” Kalem sprinted. Scenes of the manor and the torture above fresh in his mind. The bastard wasn’t getting away so easily. He just hoped that Ilsa could control the zombie doctor well enough to fill in his place at the doorway.

Out of the corner of his eye, he sees the doctor standing - and curiously enough turning upon their foes- but it doesn't yet register in the heat of battle. He unleashes another pair of strikes on the grey cultist, advancing to strike yellow if the grey one falls. He cuts down the grey cultist, but after advancing on the yellow cultist, his second strike misses.
Ilsa watches as the dead doctor remains on his feet. She mentally directs him to turn on his fellows and attack them.
Ilsa steps into the breach created by Kalem. Along with her mirror images, her hands abruptly transform into deathly claws, with rotting flesh hanging off and long black fingernails. Another image of Ilsa appears behind the gray enemy, and she rakes at him with both claws. Her first claw scrapes along the side of the yellow cultist’s head, but her second misses. The man looks badly injured, but is still standing. Grey’s dead, so I’ll direct your attacks to yellow. He’ll have soft cover due to the corner, but you’ll still hit with your first strike (and wouldn’t hit with your second one anyway).
Zamanda still continues to concentrate on the swarm spell, though it is all she can do to keep them cohesive as they start flying in more than one direction. The bats finally move as a group to the west and begin to snack on the pink cultist. The swarm was pretty much equidistance between Rolth/Kalem and Pink Cultist, so I’m fine with where you moved him. But you’re right, he would normally just move to attack whoever’s closest.
The swarm engulfs the pink cultist, scratching and biting at him. Pink Fort Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Rolth grins at Kalem. “I didn’t intend to kill you first, but since you seem to be so eager, I’m willing to make a change of plans.”
Lamm takes a step back before sending a spell in Kalem’s direction. Two fiery rays jet toward the tiefling, but only one finds its mark. Even still, Kalem resists some of the effects.
Ranged Touch Attack 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 Ranged Touch Attack 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 3) = 12
Davaulus turns toward the pink cultist and stabs at the man twice with his rapier. Davaulus Attack 1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13 Davaulus Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23Damage: 1d6 + 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + (4, 6) + 2 = 16
The pink cultist falls to the ground dead, a look of shock still plastered on his face.
Yellow Cultist swings his scythe at Bashiel, but fails to penetrate the paladin’s defenses. Yellow Cultist Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Green Cultist is nowhere to be seen, but is presumably still running away in fright.
Grey Cultist is dead.
Pink Cultist is dead.

Davaulus (dead, but animate 3 rounds)

Pink Cultist (dead)
Kalem (-9 hp)

Kalem, I had mentioned this before, but I had been handing out too many instances of my Tricks at the same time. I only have myself and one other (I had currently been giving it to Bashiel). You're the next one in line when I can share another, though!
Ilsa, seeing things in hand at the doorway, changes her focus to Rolth and Kalem on the catwalk.
This one that has sown so much fear will confront it himself.
She wills the dead Devaulus toward his former ally, and Ilsa follows in his wake.
I'm going to double move Devaulus and myself. I'm assuming he has 30' movement, but if that's not the case, we'll need to reduce how far I moved him.

Zamanda |

Zamanda stops concentrating on the bats when she sees so many people go down or move, and she realizes that they are about to attack Bashiel.
Bash! Move away from the bats! I can't control them! They'll go for whoever is closest!
Bash goes before the bats do, so even though I am moving the bats over his square, he still has a chance to avoid them if he moves. (And assuming that I stopped concentrating and shouted as a free action before he goes.)
Bat Bite Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
DC 11 Fortitude save to avoid being nauseated for one round. Bats also wound the victim, causing a one-point bleed effect each round (until a DC 10 Heal check, or any other healing).
Zamanda realizes that she had better get away from the bats as well, in case they lose the rest of their prey and go on the move again, and so she double moves up onto the catwalk.
Since I stopped concentrating before this turn, the bats will only last one more round.

Bashiel Eland |

With the danger presented by the cultists rapidly fading, Bashiel notices the corpse of Davaulus, standing victorious over another cultist. He pauses, uncomprehending. The Doctor was dead, right? Was this one of Ilsa's apparitions? He takes a hesitant step towards the Doctor, sword rising. Better to be completely sure it isn't some Urgathoan trick.
Zamanda's shout interrupts his thought process and he turns his attention to the more immediate threat of deadly bats. He steps past the remaining cultist without much concern and heads for the northern catwalk.
(Double move up onto the catwalk, leaving the cultists as the creature closest to the bats)

GM.Zek |

1d10 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
I’m fine with saying Zamanda can shout a warning to Bashiel before he acts. She could have done that on her last turn. Besides, talking doesn’t seem like something that has to be restricted as much as other things. Long speeches might be another thing, but quick warnings generally seem fine.
Ilsa, Davaulus does indeed have 30’ movement.
Kalem, if you don’t mind when you have a chance, please add your resistances to your quicks stats. Thanks!
Kalem walked through the flames, his eyes mirroring the attack against him. “You talk too much.” His hammer went out in a figure eight, as he attempted to crush the wizard. Both blows slam into the necromancer’s body, but the man proves to be surprisingly resilient. Not all of the damage even seems to directly injure him.
“Bash! Move away from the bats! I can't control them! They'll go for whoever is closest!” Zamanda shouts.

Ilsa, seeing things in hand at the doorway, changes her focus to Rolth and Kalem on the catwalk.
She wills the dead Devaulus toward his former ally, and Ilsa follows in his wake.
Zamanda realizes that she had better get away from the bats as well, in case they lose the rest of their prey and go on the move again, and so she double moves up onto the catwalk.
The bats swarm the yellow cultist, biting and scratching him. He falls to the ground and lies still.
Rolth shakes his head at Kalem. “What are you even doing with all these folks? Don’t you think you belong with us? You would fit right in! You could actually make a name for yourself, too. Such wasted talent.”
He glances over at Ilsa and Davaulus and a somehow even more wicked grin bursts onto his face. “How lovely! You three can die together.”
Then the necromancer focuses on casting a spell, even in such close proximity to the bloodrager. A surge of crackling lightning surges forward from the wizard’s hands. It arcs and zips from Kalem, to Davaulus, and to Ilsa. Shockingly, Davaulus doesn’t seem affected at all. Ilsa and Kalem take the full force of the lightning. Even though Kalem seems to have some innate resistance, he still takes a hefty blow. Cast Defensively: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23 Damage: 8d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6, 6, 6, 3, 3, 5) = 36

Green Cultist is headed for Tian Xia.

Kalem Darkborn |

Will do. 31 damage!
If Bashiel runs I think he can give me a flank. If so, attack after he does so for +2
Hit: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19
Damage: 2d6 + 15 ⇒ (3, 2) + 15 = 20
Hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Damage: 2d6 + 15 ⇒ (1, 4) + 15 = 20
Kalem grunted in pain, his first swing being interrupted by the arcing lightning. But he was resilient enough to stay on his feet for a second, and much more accurate, attempt. He didn’t match the banter, as his teeth wouldn’t stop tingling.

Bashiel Eland |

Bashiel's too slow to get there in two move actions, sadly. And run only allows straight line movement (plus since Bashiel is fatigued, he can't run or charge regardless).
With his heavy armor and fatigue weighing him down, and his alarm at Davaulus still moving around distracting him, Bashiel isn't able to close the distance on Rolth. Instead, he drops his longsword and advances eastward while drawing a javelin. Uttering a prayer to Osiris, he throws the seldom-used weapon at the foul necromancer.
Javelin, fatigue, smite evil: 1d20 + 8 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 8 - 1 + 2 = 15
Javelin damage, piercing: 1d6 + 4 - 1 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 4 - 1 + 7 = 16
'I suppose that's why I rarely use them.'

Zamanda |

The bats go for the closest person, which is unfortunately me.
Bat Bite Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Zamanda watches the bats come for her, unable to move quickly enough to avoid being bitten. However, she is about to move away after they settle in, since they are unable to get moving again for a few seconds.
This is their last round. Just don't go into their square and you will be golden.
After Zamanda moves away from the bats, she carefully aims at the strangely antagonistic guy, and shoots.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 8 - 2 = 23 (rapid shot)
Attack 2: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 8 - 2 = 20
Damage 1: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Damage 2: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Also took one point of bleed damage.

Ilsa winces in agony as the lightning passes through her. No amount of images could save her from that.
As she feels the connection with Davaulus dissipating, she sends him one last time to attack Rolth. Only lasts 3 rounds, so I'll have him attack him as his last effort. I'm guessing he collapses after he attacks, so hopefully shouldn't get in Kalem's way.
Ilsa focuses her mind on keeping Rolth from accessing his powers. Cast Mental Block, DC 16 Will

GM.Zek |

I’m going to assume Kalem delays so Ilsa and Davaulus can act…. I probably should have had Davaulus act on the same initiative as Ilsa to start once she took over.
Kalem delays.

Davaulus moves forward at Ilsa’s command and stabs at Rolth with his rapier, but misses. Davaulus Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
The unliving doctor drops his rapier as his strength begins to fade. He slows turns his face toward Ilsa and one of his arms stretches towards her as his mouth yawns open. Then he collapses, truly and completely dead.
Kalem grunted in pain, his first swing being interrupted by the arcing lightning. But he was resilient enough to stay on his feet for a second, and much more accurate, attempt. He didn’t match the banter, as his teeth wouldn’t stop tingling. The bloodrager’s second blow smashes into Rolth’s hip and the man actually yelps from the pain.

After Zamanda moves away from the bats, she carefully aims at the strangely antagonistic guy, and shoots. Only her first arrow lands, piercing his thigh.
Rolth takes a step away from Kalem once more. The necromancer is in bad shape. He’s bleeding from multiple places and an arrow is sticking out of his thigh.
Shaking his head, Rolth says, “No, no, no. This won’t be the end of my story. It can’t be. So many more tapestries to make, so many more experiments to undertake.”
The man actually growls at you before beginning to cast another spell. Even as he does so, he says, “Your foolhardiness will ensure your doom. The others here will see to your deaths and I will revel in them. Do try to suffer a bit more first.”
Then Rolth vanishes. The room grows silent. You are, for now, alone.
Zamanda (-1 hp, 1 bleed)

Zamanda tries to ascertain what spell was cast.
Who was that guy, anyway? He was nasty. ... At least we got Davaulus.
Zamanda starts looting the bodies.

GM.Zek |

Zamanda recognizes that Rolth cast Dimension Door.
More later, but didn’t want to leave y’all hanging about whether or not he was still in the area.

Bashiel Eland |

"Rolth Lamm..." Bashiel squares his jaw as he answers Zamanda "Son of Gaedren Lamm and possibly the ringleader behind all this - plague included. We may have gotten Davaulus, but Rolth getting away is worse by far."

GM.Zek |

Zamanda searches the bodies and comes up with quite a few items.
On the physicians and cultists she finds:
2 Leather Armor
2 Masterwork Clubs
Plaguebringer’s Mask x2
Healer’s kit x2
5 identical magical breastplates
5 identical magical scythes
A couple identical keys
Silver Unholy Symbol of Urgathoa x5
20 magical potions which all appear to be identical
On Doctor Davaulus himself, she finds:
A magical potion
A magical flask labeled “elixir of true healing”
A magical mithral chain shirt
A magical rapier
A magical amulet
A button key that appears to be the same size as the empty slot on the cargo lift
700 gp
Both doors to the south (from left to right) open into a storage room and an unfinished room. Nothing of note lies within either.

Ilsa growls in frustration as Rolth Lamm disappears.
"Gah! We had him!" she exclaims, wondering if he might be somewhere nearby still.
Ilsa looks carefully for any places he might be, but though she feels he may be nearby, can't figure out how far his magic might have carried him.

Man. Keep holding off on buying a magic weapon in the hope of a two handed one being found. Maybe after this I should look into enchanting the hammer...

Zamanda |

Zamanda pockets the keys and makes sure they gather the rest of the stuff, and then tries each of the keys that they found in an attempt to unlock the secret door that Ilsa and Kalem found.
If none of them fit, then she tries to pick it open:
