The Wicked GM |

I kinda wish Vendra had succeeded at her Will save so we can have an interesting chase.
Hehe, me too, considering the time spent making the chase "map." Oh well. It's a known fact that even the best laid plans of mice and GMs often go awry. But it's also fun to see the PCs tackle the challenge.

Garvid Krein |

Oh, I like chases! However, it always seems they happen in the games where I'm playing someone wearing a refridgerator, and the fact we're in the Constitution book prevents Garvid from engaging in high-speed pursuits.
I am looking forward to evading the Maidens, though.
GM, I know it's not strictly in the rules, but is it possible for someone to make a coup-de-grace with non-lethal damage? Via a steel boot to the face, or something similar? I'd understand if it's not the way the mechanics work, but it's a rather cinematic thing, so I thought I should ask for the future.

Sure!

The Wicked GM |

Busy day, I'll advance tomorrow. Anything to add in the meantime?

The Wicked GM |

I'm pleased to inform you all that you have survived the perils of Korvosa long enough to have reached LEVEL SIX!!!
Please level yourselves and post your gains here in discussion. You gain a Hero Point, but there's a max of 3. I'll ask that you have yourselves leveled up by the end of the weekend. Questions?

Marial "Mouse" Redfist |

Mouse considering employment in the Guard when this is all over? I think I know a couple of guys/gals there. Or, most of them, actually.
Well, I figured she has been working for Cressida for some time, and she is spending the night in the Citadel. She's gotta pick up a few things. ;)

The Wicked GM |

I think Mouse would make a great fit for the guard! Something to work toward long-term, maybe (assuming the city survives...).
-----------
Levels are looking good. Still waiting on Talfryn. Ya'll are getting powerful! Don't forget to update the stats in your taglines as well, and make sure my initiative and perception rolls are correct under the "Player Dice" spoiler over in the campaign tab.
-----------
Here is the breakdown of liquidating loot this go-around. Please add the following items to your character sheets and/or inventory sheets. Remember, after I announce a distribution, it's up to you to keep track of your gear and wealth!
Specific Distributions
Yazi - a potion of cure moderate wounds
Pietro - a bottle of air
Talfryn - a pearl of power (2nd level)
Li - the brass, Abadaran key, inscribed "261" (I'm simply assigning it to you b/c you opened the box).
General Distribution
Then, all characters (even those who receive a specific distribution) should add 2,213 gold pieces to their wealth.
Take a day to update and consider purchases. Tomorrow I'll push the story forward.

Lord Talfryn Blackoak |

Thanks for your patience, everyone. Here's Talfryn at Level 6:
HP +9 (6 +2 Con +1 Toughness)
+1 bab
+1 F/R/W
Extra 3rd and 2nd level spell slot
+6 skill ranks (perception, intimidate, history, local, spellcraft, religion)
+2 background skill ranks (lore, arcana)

The Wicked GM |

Welcome back Talfryn!
What Yazi would like to buy:
- Headband of smartassness (aka inspired wisdom) +2 = 4000 gp
- Enchant her breastplate to be spell-storing = 1000 gp
Sounds good!

Norelia "Li" |

Li's skill points:
Acrobatics, bluff, climb, diplomacy, disable device, knowledge(dungeoneering), knowledge(local), perception, sense motive, stealth
Background = profession(baker), sleight of hand
Li is also carrying the weird dagger right now. I'm assuming that is why she had a bad dream...

Norelia "Li" |

Just looked at the updated loot. Can Li have the +1 chain shirt to replace her MW chain shirt? Also, we should probably keep the extra CMW potions as well.
Roughly how much money should we be having to buy stuff?

The Wicked GM |

Just looked at the updated loot. Can Li have the +1 chain shirt to replace her MW chain shirt? Also, we should probably keep the extra CMW potions as well.
Well, this creates a slight predicament. Normally I'd say 'Sure, claim whatever you want!' (Like I urged everyone to do over two weeks ago after Maynard and Clawson were looted). But I've already announced the distribution (I just haven't cleared the loot list), and if we back out the armor I'd have to retcon the distribution. So...I'm going to let the distribution stand, to avoid having to re-calculate and, more importantly, to encourage the players to use the loot sheet and claim items that they want. If items aren't claimed, they will be liquidated.
Speaking of, and as consolation, I've added a "Wish List" tab to the loot sheet. If there are items you really want, list them there under your character's name. When the AP offers up a comparable item, I'll look to that list and consider inserting something from the wish list.
Roughly how much money should we be having to buy stuff?
I can't answer this for certain, as I'm leaving tracking your individual wealth to you. But we can estimate by adding your starting gold (max for your class), plus the total wealth received from the "TWR" tab (which tallies all distributions we've had), minus any purchases you've made. So 240 + 8,609 - any purchases you've already made. Does that help?
Other Questions?
Edit: Yazi acquired four (4) potions of CMW, not 1.

Garvid Krein |

I'd be willing to start the idea of us chipping together for items that someone really wants. We're a bit behind WBL, and while I kind of like that, since we're not in it for the money (at least Garvid), it would be wise to spread that money as best as possible.
Li, after my purchase is done, I'd be willing to help you with buying a +1 chain shirt, but I'd be having about 50 gp remaining.
The wish list is a nice addition!
GM, how would I approach buying a Belt of Giant's Strength? So far the Guard have been pretty damn helpful, but I sincerely doubt there's an assortment of Wondrous Items in the evidence lockers.

This is a good idea! You'll just need to come to some agreement as to who's pitching in how much, then update your wealth accordingly. The +1 chain shirt costs 1,250 gold sails.

I like your suggestion about the Bank of Abadar. Of course Korvosa has its assortment of magical shops and bazaars. Pietro obtained an elixir from a shifty market dealer, for example. If you're feeling creative, check the Korvosa map and we can pick one of the names and run with it (the Guide to Korvosa has some info about many of them). I certainly enjoy reading what you guys make up yourselves, and in the rare case it treads on the story I'll let you know.
Also, are we being debriefed by Cressida, or are we assuming that happened and she'll call us when the situation changes?
At this moment in-game Cressida is still off in search of Vendra, presumably oblivious that she's been turned in to the Citadel's custody. I have a plan to bring her back around soon, though.
Great questions, anything else?

Marial "Mouse" Redfist |

Sorry I haven't chimed in yet! I laid down yesterday meaning to check in on my games after a nap...and woke up fifteen hours later, just in time for IRL Pathfinder night. Apparently I really needed that nap. ;) Working on a Gameplay post now, and I've put my wishlist into the spreadsheet (which I'll echo is a good idea).

Marial "Mouse" Redfist |

Looking over my options, I believe I'm going to trade in my masterwork studded leather and pick up a +1 chain shirt and a shawl of shadowy disguise (inspired by recent escapades). Because I'm sooooper good at spending low available funds responsibly. ;) That should leave me with 19 gold, 5 silver. I'm spending another 4.5 on various sundries shopping on the way back for 15 gp left.

Garvid Krein |

Bit of a shorter post, sorry. I think we could write an entire book on how to purchase things in Golarion at this point, and it'd be actually a decent read, I loved all of those!
Yazi, I think Li has the key. I suppose we could have her and possibly Mouse sneak behind the back, and I somewhat doubt someone will answer the door, but after last night, I'd imagine most of us not wanting to split soon, and Garvid would prefer doing things above board when possible.
Besides, there's nothing wrong with being polite, even to the hypothetical cabal of noble cannibalistic daemons out to get us. I haven't read the books. If that is indeed what's on the other side of the door, someone stop Garvid.

Norelia "Li" |

Li will gladly contribute to Garvid's belt of giant's strength. I had missed the loot originally from Vendra's goons which is why I had mentioned the +1 chainshirt. Li had enough money to purchase one so now that Pietro bought it for her (thanks!) she can use that money towards Garvid's purchase. How much does Garvid need? I can contribute half...

Garvid Krein |

Oh, I had enough to get one. And I have 58 gp remaining, which I'll reduce to 50 for maliciously raiding Carlin's sweets stash.
Just saying, as we're about as far away from murderhobos (we live in a manse and don't kill people if we can help it), we're somewhat under WBL, but I very much enjoy that from a story standpoint, since we're not in it for the money!
The pooling was an idea, since if, for instance, His Lordship or the doctor want a headband or Mouse needs a belt (which strike me as the three next possible upgrades for the party), we can pool the money and get them one faster. It's an idea, I think.
Point to make, since I took a sneak peek at Talfryn's page - we're taking average health, not full per level. I was confused as to why the wizard was hot on the barbarian's heels HP-wise! But I wouldn't worry about it, and as the arse who pointed that out, I'll make it a priority to take as many hits directed his way to my face.

Dr. Pietro Bartori |

I think that pooling our money is totally within character for this group, as was for Pietro to give Li the armor when he had the extra cash.
As to what I would want, I agree that a headband of intelligence would be best from a mechanical POV but it's so boring.
I think there's some sort of container that allows me to keep an extract overnight, effectively giving me an extra extract per day so that would be nice.
What else should an alchemist want?

Yaziyah Tanja |

We can make another tab in the Loot spreadsheet and dub it the party purse, people can drop donations there. What do you think?
Pietro, I think what you mention is a preserving flask.
Also, if anyone needs help with character management, I have a HeroLab license with almost all the bells and whistles and I'd be happy to help.

Marial "Mouse" Redfist |

Sorry for the delayed post - life needs to stop being so contrary. ;)
I'm good with pooling cash so people can afford bigger purchases faster. With the spending I did I don't have much to contribute at the moment, but as Garvid says, we've got enough camaraderie that I can totally see us working that way. Maybe we should even just look at spending our next big windfall as a group, rather than splitting it out into shares? It might be easier.
Pietro, sometimes the oldies are the goodies for a reason. ;) I totally get you, though - I hate buying the same exact things every time I make a character. Part of the reason I picked up the boots and scarf Mouse has, since they're useful for her and not the same as every character gets.
Mouse's vote is to approach the house from over the hedge, but she'll of course defer to her elders and betters in the matter.

Garvid Krein |

I love it how none of us ever bought any rope. That's dungeoneering 101 failed. And regarding the Big 6 - I agree with both the good doctor and Mouse. There's some very, very flavourful items, especially for alchemists, that you'd not be able to buy unless you're delaying the Big 6. I haven't ever played a barbarian before in my life, so I'm a bit less prone to have to be annoyed at the potential furious courageous yadda-yadda weapon, though.
I think the best way to proceed would be through the front door, if Talfryn manages to unlock it (If it's barred, rather than locked.) If it's locked, then we can go through those windows Yazi saw - none of us is massive enough to get stuck in a window, I suppose.

The Wicked GM |

Thanks for noticing that, Garvid, but I calculate Talfryn's hp to be between 44 and 50.
Level 1: +6
Level 2: +4
Level 3: +4
Level 4: +4
Level 5: +4
Level 6: +4
Toughness: +6
Con (14): +12
Sound right? Where have you been sticking your favored class bonuses? If in hp, that would indeed land you at 50.
Also, Li, have you updated your hp for level 6? I had you down at 45 during the vampire fight, and that was level 5..

Norelia "Li" |

Good question...I'll check.
Also, Li has rope as part of her rogue's kit. She also has a grappling hook as well as a grappling bolt that she can shoot to a longer distance than can be thrown.

Yup, in HP. Apologies if my breakdown was off, but glad we're on the same page.

Garvid Krein |

Yeah, I've seem to have been mistaken by the post earlier on where it showed 6+stuff, and I jumped to the assumption you thought we were taking maximum. I ran the maths after I saw the GM's post, and, obviously, the GM's never wrong. :)
Sorry, and I didn't mean to cause any offense! Offer of taking stuff to the face still stands, though.

The Wicked GM |

the idea was for Lord T to end his spell on the inside of the manor and open the door from there. Was that not possible?
Sorry, I didn't see Talfryn write that he wanted to do that. Fyi that will probably trigger initiative. That ok with you, Talfryn?

Dr. Pietro Bartori |

Well, he didn't but Pietro suggested it out loud here.

3 people marked this as a favorite. |

Pietro: I found this thread for alchemist, if you haven't already seen it.
Here's the artwork from the anniversary edition for this fight.
I also added a table of contents to our campaign tab if you'd like to navigate through our past exploits!

A friend (retired vet) passed away yesterday, and today is US memorial day holiday. If any of you have served your countries or are close with those who have, a profound thanks. I may not have a post up until tomorrow.
