Majenko Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Majenko Stealth: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (15) + 20 = 35
Barael comes up to the door (*cough*, *cough*) and listens. He can hear someone, something, giving a speech on the other side of the door. It's muddled though, so you can't quite hear the details.
Presuming you go ahead and open the door, you see a large room with a small stage along the windows. A zombie dressed as a blue-winged angel strums a large, standing harp - unfortunately most of the harp’s strings are broken. The angel is also trying to sing, but it comes out as mumbling babble. Four costumed corpses - a sea serpent, a castle tower, a swan, and a blue skeleton - look on from chairs but as they are still dead, they do not move.
I'm not going to roll initiative. I presume that the party, even slightly split, can finish off the lone zombie in the room without much difficulty. As Nokolay and Barael are already diseased (and likely charging in), no additional checks needed when the corpse pops…

Briar the Lesser |

Briar shoos the party to open the door at G11.
"C'mon, let's find Ruan."
If we had waited a day to prepare, we could have easily had found Ruan without all this running around...with *MAGIC*.

Fondo Barondo |

Fondo offers to clean off Dandi as the party moves back through the central room. "More gore, Niko and Barael? Hurry up now. No doubt Ruan is lurking in a basement somewhere, waiting for tender mercies."

DM_Euan |

Majenko Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Majenko Stealth: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (20) + 20 = 40
The small room behind this door is actually completely empty and bereft of blood and gore. A peaceful center to an otherwise gory building. It's a sitting room, with one chair and a couple low tables with food and drink, spoiling slightly.
There is nothing else in the room.

Barael de Gare |

Barael passes to the southern door I-12, and renews the procedure of listening before entering.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
He proceeds through the door as long as he has someone at his back. As zombies are the soup of the day, he intends on attacking any zombie before it has a chance to acknowledge new house guests.

DM_Euan |

Majenko Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Majenko Stealth: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (20) + 20 = 40
Two of the Carowyns’ ex-servants sit at a preparation table here holding dull knives, pantomiming the carving of a corpse on the table dressed as a huge pig - truly the long hog. When you open the door, they turn and try to do the same to you!
Nikolay gets to react, then it's my turn.

"Hey Nikolay. I see you've become a dual threat...the way you mix both magic and sword into your misses is inspiring."
See? I'm motivating...just like the Varisian....maybe Nikolay will prove me wrong.

DM_Euan |

Briar continues to wait for an opportune time to strike and looks around carefully. Barael rolls in behind Nikolay and strikes hard at Z1. Charlie casts bless on the party. Dandilion checks for thoughts (yes there are minds in your cone). Fondo moves over and takes a look at the scene. Nikolay does indeed kill Z1 cleanly.

Briar the Lesser |

Round 4, Init 12
Seeing Barael springing new holes in his body, Briar moves to J13 to get a better look.
Woah...is that an elf?
"Elf-Sister, what are you doing? Or do you need help doing it? We're just here looking for one pitiful human. A bardic type...sings with an ocarina. Have you seen him?"
Briar lowers his bow.
"Put those daggers away, we're not here to fight you or ruin your fun. But that human is with me...we can get you other Varisians to hurt."

"HarrowCast, we have time for some talk. This elf maiden means no harm to us. Maybe this was just a misunderstanding. Let us talk," Briar communicates to the HarrowCast before switching to elven to re-address the Lady.
"It's been too long since I heard the true elven tongue spoken by a pureblood. Thank you for giving me such a gift," Briar smiles and looks to the zombies.
"Did you create and stage all this 'art'? We didn't mean to ruin it all..there are some that did not rise to greet us and those remain. I have some magic myself, but not enough to create what was created here! You are a artist, no doubt."

Briar lowers his weapon and chats with the vixen elf. Barael finishes off the last zombie in the room and cowers from the new combatant. Charlie tries to keep Barael among the living a little while longer. Charlie further thinks that the elf was definitely interested in talking but the rest of the party made that impossible.
