I thought one of the volunteers was doing it? I know the PFS team is basically down to two people so they're stretched thin.

With Gameday VIII approaching real soon I have been receiving a similar question.
When can we start?
With this being a global event Gameday VIII will begin at Midnight UTC on September 9th (that would be 7 pm Central Standard Time on Sept 8th)

Question: does anyone know if the "free Character Rebuild" boon (available until Sept' 19) is only available on the Achievement Points chart... that does not exist yet?
Or is the Boon available somewhere and I am just a poor lost soul who cannot find his way?
I believe the former. Unfortunately.

Did they eliminate the free rebuild before level 2?

You can rebuild your character for free so long as you have not played after having 12 xp or more.
For reference, see "Rebuilding Your Character" in the Player Basics section of the guide.

Thanks, must have missed it.
Yeah, it's easy to do with the current layout. Hopefully once they have a little time to breathe someone can format it for easier reading and searching.

Missing characters in GMDoug's PbP Gameday Games
I've PM'd all of the below characters and posted reminders in the discussion forums. If you are one of the characters signed up for my games and happen to see this, please post ASAP! I will remove any inactive players who have not posted or contacted me by tomorrow at 5PM Pacific daylight time.
William Boatman AKA Kiromel — never posted. PM Sent.
Bogard — posted in discussion forums but not in game. PM sent. Botting for now, but I want to see a post or a response.
TCovenant: Never posted. PM sent.
Gruscovac AKA Dargon Blackrock: Fellow player contacted in real life. Can't seem to send a PM. Private messaging likely toggled off.

Right now we have just started an online Convention so not many games are recruiting. Usually there are people posting asking for games or GMs posting with game recruitment fairly regularly. Keep an eye on the thread and something will pop up.

GM Blake |

How would a person throw their hat into the ring for selection for games here?
Typically, individual GMs will post a link to their recruitment threads in the Recruitment tab of this 'Campaign.' Some GMs will post recruitment threads in the Recruitment section of the Online Campaigns board without posting a link here.

It is possible that a GM could ask you if you would like to fill in for a no show, though!
GMs if anything opens at a low level game, that would be great!

I'll try out running a game of 2e now that I've played a couple.
Reserving a spot for echoxero, otherwise there are five open spots.
Starting ASAP.
This is not a gameday/convention game.
This is for the horror version of Mosquito Witch. I'll be doing my best to really make the game have the appropriate horror feel because it sounds like it would be fun to try in PbP. (It was fun doing a horror version of Penumbral Accords in PbP)

So, is there maintained somewhere a list of games currently in recruitment? Or is that more a matter of searching the thread?

![]() |

Usually GM's post when they are no longer recruiting, but yeah, just skim the recruitment tab. Typically tables fill up fast, but I'm picking up 0 players. I've only had 1 say anything and even the reserved spot player hasn't dotted in. Has everyone played mosquito witch or something?

I would be up to playing it but my bandwidth is absolutely full with Gameday going on.

Howdy Krik! Nice to see you around again :)
GM Zer0darkfire is correct - you'll generally want to keep an eye out over on the Recruitment tab as that is usually where GMs will post openings for their games. Since we're not quite a week into PbP Gameday VIII a lot of our players and GMs are currently running at near-to-maximum capacity on games, so Recruitment is probably going to be quieter than usual for the next month or two. Once Gameday games start wrapping up we'll probably see a bump in activity over in Recruitment.
So...it may take a little bit but just be patient and keep checking in :)

GM Wayfinder |

@GM Zer0darkfire: I would have been interested - and especially curious about the horror component! - but am playing Mosquito Witch in the GameDay.
It's great that you are offering a game, and a bit sad you have no takers, but I am sure, as others just posted, that it is only because of the timing...

GM Z..D.. |

I am not sure if this is still a thing in second edition, but does running second edition games count towards the OSP. I am in the process of typing up chronicles and wanted to be sure which event number to use. OSP or My own.

GM Z..D.. |

That is what I thought as well. Just wanted to make sure I was on the same page as others. Either way, I still get the ACP...once it comes on line it is.
Speaking of which, I love the whole ACP idea. Just needs to get up in running.

As long as we're talking reporting, I've got a question. I've ran four games with friends. We want to stick with reporting it under the same event we've had for a while, since our LGS closed. Chronicles are already done and have that event code on them (though that could be changed with reporting if it falls through).
The event belongs to one of them, who said he extended reporting privileges to me. I still can't report from it or even access it with a link from previous games. Anyone know what to make of this?

If you can get the event owner to send you a screenshot of the listing of GMs allowed to report and then send the screenshot to one of the PbP VOs, we can take a look and at least narrow down where the problem is.

A Changing of the Guard
Hey everyone --
I have really loved being Venture Captain of the Play-by-Post region of Organized Play. I came on board as a Venture Lieutenant way back in November of 2016, when I helped Jesse close out PBP Gameday V! I can honestly say that I have the best region in all of Organized Play, full of imaginative role-players from all over the world.
But I have become increasingly busy as a freelancer (yay!) and want to give my freelancing more time. I have decided to step down as a VO on November 1st, 2019 -- on roughly the third year anniversary of me becoming an online VO. I feel the time is right. Like a Starfinder First Seeker, I imagined this as a short term gig where I implemented my vision, and helped online organized play prosper.
My vision for the region was pretty simple: I was going to make online play a friendly space for newcomers and old hands alike, and help those who don't do PBP understand our region better. I think that I've achieved these modest goals.
During my term of office a number of great things happened:
The good news is that one of those VOs, Derek Larsen (aka Tyranius), will become our new VC. Considering how much work he already does for this region, the transition between us should be pretty seamless. Supporting him will be our other VLs, Christine Bussman and Michael Hallet, and all our wonderful venture agents. The online VO team has always been a cooperative effort shared amongst many hands, and we have several weeks to ease the transition.
The other good news is that you won't be losing me, not really. I'm just transitioning roles. I'll still be a GM and an outspoken advocate for online play. I'm never giving up on my PBP community.
I love you all!

Question re. Hero Points and PbP
re. the PFS Guide
At the beginning of an adventure, each player receives 1 Hero Point.
GMs can then hand out additional Hero Points throughout the session in recognition of the characters’ deeds, at a rate of approximately 1 Hero Point per hour of play.
So, how do you deal with this in PbP?
If a scenario is supposed to be a 4 hour tabletop game, then I can just split it into four parts, and give 1 extra Hero Point during each of those 4 parts if I feel it is deserved etc.?(and maybe once towards the end of a Quest that is supposed to be a 1 hour tabletop play ; or more accordingly for an AP etc.)

I tend to figure that for me most scenarios average out at about 35 days, which translates down to about 9 days per "hour". So I was thinking I'd probably do about one a week.

GM Wayfinder |

Hello fellow gamers and GMs, hoping all are having fun in their adventures!
I wanted to know if there was a link to the PF 2nd Edition pregens, made for PbP?
I can only find the playtest ones, I think...

![]() |

@GM Wayfinder- As far as I know they have not been formatted by anyone here yet. If someone has please bring them forward and we can get them added to the community folder.
If not then it will definitely be a project I can do right after I am freed up from Gameday.

I wanna make a PFS2 character! :)
Where can I find a 2E character sheet? bonus point for form fillable or automated spreadsheet! :)

These shiny red boots have high heels that are excellent for kicking elf butt, Mr. Peppers.*
(You know, not being the VC is incredibly liberating. I don't think I would have posted that if I were remaining a VC... I just spent five minutes removing the words 'Venture Captain' from my profile. I think I got all of them, so yay!)
