Nice dragon intro, let me grab my pop corn... :D

The redcap that attacked Arv was supposed to roll twice and take the lower result, as per my sudden block.

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

Thank you Venetia. :) Then Arv is not injured, the attack missed, Much to the frustration of his fey opponent. ;)

Male Half-Elf Haunted Oracle of Life (Ancient Lorekeeper) 8/Hierophant 1

Jay actually wouldn't get hit. His Prayer gives all the Redcaps a -1 penalty on their attack rolls, damage rolls, saves, and skill checks.

I do not think that I should have been able to be hit, I cast Fly in the first round and should have been 20 or so feet in the air watching for the dragon.

Kiri grins as the dragon appears. Drawing on dark magic that she abhors, but knows may be necessary to cause the defeat of the dragon, she calls upon necromantic magic to defeat the dragon.

Use Mythic Power to cast Bestow Curse via Wild Arcana.

Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12<-- range of 170' via Spectral Hand

Dragon Will Save: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18 v DC21

Spell Resistance: 1d20 + 7 + 1d6 ⇒ (13) + 7 + (3) = 23 vs SR23 <-- 1 Mythic Power/Surge

2 more Mythic points used.

Bestow Curse decreases 1 ability by 6 points. I will reduce the dragon's Dexterity by 6 points.

Kiri then calls to the mage near her.

Edeldhur, hit the big lizard with some thing to make him clumsy, tired or exhausted.

Elf Wizard

"He is still too far away Kiritta!" - Edeldhur retorts, as he readjusts his positioning to gain line of sight.

With practiced gestures, and relying on his mythical nature, he does again what he is best at, and launches an offensive spell at the massive dragon threatening them.

Empowered Fireball: 9d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 6, 3, 6, 5, 6, 4, 2, 5) + 3 = 46<-Empowered means 69 damage

To overcome Spell Resistance (DC23): 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 2 = 29<- Success!

Dragon Reflex Save (DC21): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13<- -3 penalty from the Curse = Reflex save +8

Apologies for the delay, will go through previous posts to get everyone's buff's right. Janus was correct, no hit, just barely. :) Apologies Kiri for some reason I missed the fly spell. will upadte when I get a chance.

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Still a hit on Arv. :(

Very nice strike on the dragon, Shizza!

Elf Wizard

ROAR!

Female Human Paladin (Holy Tactician) 5 / Noble Scion 3 / Mythic (Guardian) 1

I wanna fight the dragon too! To double move to the dragon or not to double move to the dragon, that is the question.

Venetia moves between the two redcaps and attacks the one less hurt.

First attack: 1d20 + 13 + 1d8 ⇒ (4) + 13 + (4) = 21 Legendary Surge!
1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 1 = 10
Haste attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31
1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 1 = 13
Second attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 = 7

That's another 30 damage to the redcap, not sure how it only had 12 damage before since I dealt 19 to it with a cold iron weapon, and I forgot to add the bard song damage bonus before, so that's another 2 damage that I dealt before so I should have dealt 51 damage to this redcap now.

Surges left of legendary item, 3/4

Apolgies for my above mistakes, I am working on getting everyone stuff listed. Had some guys get injured at work so its been crazy hectic and no sleep during INvestigation. Sigh... Love and hate the oilfield sometimes.

@Venetia Ya clerical error again. Your first hit downs it and reduces it to negative one, if you want to choose which one you hit with your other two attacks thats fine.

Working on big update post right now! :)

Female Human Paladin (Holy Tactician) 5 / Noble Scion 3 / Mythic (Guardian) 1

If I dropped the one to negative with the first hit, then both the other hits should drop the other one as well.

Male Half-Elf Haunted Oracle of Life (Ancient Lorekeeper) 8/Hierophant 1

Having little else to do, Janus hops in front of the mother and child and gets ready to fend off any more Redcap attacks.

Still waiting for the Dragon's response to being cursed.

Post got eaten reposting now!
Round Wrap up followed by next round actions!

Much to the frustration of the black dragon it's minions continued to fair poorly against the heroes and it too came under concentrated attack. It roared in outrage as it's magical defenses were penetrated by mere humans "INSECTS! I WILL TEACH YOU A LESSON FOR YOUR ARROGANCE!" It moves forward then, angling in to attack Ni'Tir, who towers over the Fey she was still struggling with...

The Black Dragon flys straight towards her, its flight more jerky then before fdue tot he curse it was inflicted with but not slowing down the beasts ability to fly. As it got within striking distance of Ni'Tir it rose up once more, hovering before the huge dinosaur and surrounding the both of them in a massive debris field that rose up thicker then before and obscured the sight of the pair just before they engaged in combat.

Within the Sphere:

Arv is caught up in this debris field as well, taking note of the intense pressure within the 60ft spehere as the dragon hovered a mere 20ft off the ground. However he is then splashed by a thick spray of blood as the injury the dragon inflicts on Ni'Tir is substantial. Bringing the poor druid down in a single devastating bite and eliminating the largest threat to the dragon, save for the wizards that annoyed it...

Bite Attack +IVS -PA: 1d20 + 24 - 5 ⇒ (10) + 24 - 5 = 29
Bite Damage: 6d6 + 12 + 10 ⇒ (4, 5, 5, 2, 5, 6) + 12 + 10 = 49

Ni'Tir teters for a moment, her huge form stumbling as her vision darkened. The blood loss coupled by the injury sustained in the intial breath attack brings her crashing down on her remaining opponents.

Falling Damage: 6d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 5, 5, 3) = 27

Dragon Staats:

Hover:

If a creature of size Large or larger with this feat hovers within 20 feet of the ground in an area with lots of loose debris, the draft from its wings creates a hemispherical cloud with a radius of 60 feet. The winds generated can snuff torches, small campfires, exposed lanterns, and other small, open flames of non-magical origin. Clear vision within the cloud is limited to 10 feet. Creatures have concealment at 15 to 20 feet (20% miss chance). At 25 feet or more, creatures have total concealment (50% miss chance, and opponents cannot use sight to locate the creature).

Those caught inside the Sphere

Everyone save for Venetia and Janus are caught inside the radius of the sphere of debris.

Those within the spere:
Ni'Tir has fallen, two of her opponents are smashed with her loud crash to the earth. The two fey are pinned beneath her as the dragon turns its baleful glare on the pair of Wizards. Despite all of its injuries the dragon appears more then able to fight on and with a terrible vengence it now rains devastation on the group.

"YOU SHALL ALL FALL, IN MY MASTERS NAME YOU WILL DIE BARONS!"

The dragons malevolent words are easily heard over the screaming winds that now surround your companions. The crash of something large is easily heard as well as the battle rages on within.

The remaining fey look even more frightened now that the dragon had entered the battle, the two who were distracted were quickly cut down by Venetia, eliminating another two opponents from the field of battle...

Grapple check with Arv: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

The little creature gains the upper hand with your tentacle but hasn't broken the grapple, merely stopped you for now from depositing it into the acid pit only yards away.

One of Ni'Tir's remaining opponents moves towards the flagging Danath, taking advantage of his injured state as they attempted to slowly overwhelm your group...

Despite two more bloody hits Danath staggers under the assault, yet somehow remains on his feet...

Danath:
Attack Danath: 1d20 + 10 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 10 - 1 + 2 = 25
Damage: 2d4 + 10 ⇒ (3, 1) + 10 = 14

Attack Danath: 1d20 + 10 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 10 - 1 + 2 = 20
Damage: 2d4 + 10 ⇒ (1, 2) + 10 = 13

Attack Danath: 1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 10 - 1 = 15

Venetia's grace in battle proves the undoing of two of her opponents who collapse under her powerful strikes. However the one behind her takes a powerful swing while the paladin's back is exposed...

Venetia:

Attack Venetia: 1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 10 - 1 = 28
Damage: 2d4 + 10 ⇒ (2, 1) + 10 = 13

Janus's opponent sneers at him as he gets in its way at trying to reach the mother and child, both of whom are huddled closely together in fear of the oncoming fey. However the little feys hit goes wide, earning him a string of fey curses. His previous opponent curses as well, dropping his scythe on the ground again and glares at Janus as it tries again to lift its greased weapon...

Janus:

Attack Janus: 1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 10 - 1 = 15
Damage: 2d4 + 10 ⇒ (3, 2) + 10 = 15

Reflex: 1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 10 - 1 = 14

Will update the remaining ones when I get to a computer that allows me to view the glade map... Sorry :(

Go ahead and post your actions. If you need anythig clarified let me know~

Knowing that this giant menace must be taken care of immediately, or the hope and dreams of the Barons will come to naught, Kiri flies into the sphere of dust until she can clearly see the dragon and then calls upon her magic infused with the new mythic powers she has gained as she sends a dark black line toward the black dragon.

Move: Fly to within 15' to avoid the concealment.
Standard: Cast Ray of Exhaustion using Wild Arcana (1 Mythic Point)

Fort Save: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18 vs DC20

Blurr Check: 1d100 ⇒ 100 <-- 20 or less is miss

The ray strikes the dragon and suddenly the creatures muscles simply seize up, causing the monster to plummet to the ground beneath.

OK I've just returned to almost 30 posts and am confused. Is the map updated? Besides a reflex save for the dragon breath, is Szymon in the debris field? It's not marked on the map. Are the two fey near Janus/woman and kid still there? It would be really great if the DM would identify his monster posts with round numbers. Thanks

Not being able to do much of anything to the rampaging dragon, Janus decides to assist the people who can. After ordering Noelle stay outside the field of debris, Janus bravely takes a few steps closer to the fray. Relying his memory to recall the location of the Redcaps and thus avoid healing them by accident, the Oracle of Life quickly lets loose another wave of positive healing light upon his allies.

Male Half-Elf Haunted Oracle of Life (Ancient Lorekeeper) 8/Hierophant 1

I know that. I was talking about damage she took before being physically attacked. I might be reading the post wrong, but it seems like Ni'Tir took a lot of damage from the dragon's breath. She got a Natural 20 on her save, so she only took half of the 44 acid damage for 22 total. The Acid Resistance 20 should have shaved it down to a measly 2, but the narrative says that "it's easy to see that much of her thick hide was dissolving" and all. I point this out because it might make a big difference in the near future.

Posting this for ARV: (No worries bud! :) )

Arv continued to restrain the little angry fey until he reached the side of the pit, carefully traversing the edge as the sweet almost sickly smelling air compelled him to move away. Being an alchemist he was strong enough to resist the urge to retreat. Uncermoniously he deposited his opponent into the pit and before it splashed into the acid he had already turned away and watched as Kiri's spell bounced off the dragon...

Round 8

The dragon keeps up its powerful hovering as its minion's move to try and take down the heroes. Despite its injuries its presence was still as powerful as before, assured that such earthbound worms could not be it's downfall. Then it's wing beats paused, casuing its debris field to falter before it resumed its powerful rythm. It craned its neck to look back towards the north. After a couple wingbeats it begins moving forward once more, the great debris cloud subsiding as it ignored the heroes completely. The air snapped with air wingbeat, the shear pressure was enough to drive the small fey to the ground as the black dragon passed wordlessly overhead speeding off to the east. It slowly ascended skyward but never looked back...

FRA - Run - Leaving Combat to the east

When the dragon departed the fey broke completely. They weren't fools, over half their number had been slain and now that the dragon was gone they had no reason to stay. They began to scatter, in all directions, the one facing Janus snarled at the woman and child. "Keep dem then! We'll..." He pauses as his scythe slips out of his grasp again. Snarling in frustration before cursing Janus once more and abandoning its weapon.

just unconcious she wasnt injured enough to die. But as per Corsarios wishes the main characters cant die. We can lose companions and gear but our characters will survive.

Note to self, get Cold Iron Weapon, sheesh.

Danath falls to one knee and pants for breath, he'd been injured multiple times and was thankful the battle turned when it did. As Janu's healing swept over them he rose to his feet. Stonger then before he moved over to the fallen beast Ni'Tir had become and checked on her. She was groggy but alive. He frowned as Kiri chased after the dragon and after a moment began dashing after her as well. Albeit he was much further behind...

Kiri:

Sadly your not able to get close enough but I will finish this wrap up as your the only one chasing after it at the moment.

Kiri's chase didn't fail to gain the dragons attention. In fact as she flew after it she noticed it looking back at her. However since she was too far away it didn't pay much more attention to her. It did however create a cloud of darkness behind it, temporarily allowing it to dissappear from Kiri's line of sight.

Darkness 35 ft off the ground with a 70 ft radius

The dark cloud swirls a few hundred feet in front of Kiri, blocking out all the light in that area...

A great black cloud begins to swirl, five hundred feet off to the east, one hundred thirty feet in height and blocking out the line of sight you had of the ascending black dragon...

Seeing the Redcaps running off, Janus immediately turns his attention to the unconscious Allosaurus sprawled across the forest floor. He quickly gives his familiar an infusion of his magic, and the little dragoness immediately makes her way over to Ni'Tir. Once there, Noelle quickly casts the healing spell on the wounded druid.

Cure Serious Wounds on Ni'Tir: 3d8 + 7 ⇒ (2, 4, 5) + 7 = 18

Janus then turns to the rest of the group and asks, "Is anyone else hurt?"

Kiri:

The cloud twists and starts to writh before you after you yell your insult across the span between you and your opponent. After a moment the cloud forms, twisting into a similar shape as the dragon that had just fled. Despite its inconsistent form its sneer and malice was still easily recognizable across its shadow muzzle.

It was then Kiri heard the dragon’s voice, although it wasn't with her ears but within her mind. It’s intrusion was loud but not painful, it wasn’t a persuasion or a charm either but telepathic. ::Do not misunderstand mortal! I will take great pleasure in breaking you as my pet! And your time shall come!:: The sick feeling of that thought invaded Kiri’s mind for a moment, the acrid smell of the dragons lair. The chains in which she would be bound hanging heavily from her limbs...

For the briefest of moments her mind was there...

Trapped…

Then the thought ended followed by the dragons image appearing to silently laugh, its head rolling back as the feeling of pleasure rolled across the bond it temporarily shared with Kiri. But the feeling was soon replaced with a sort of intrigue, the image then appeared to be deep in thought, appraising her as she floated so far away from it. ::However I must admit I was surprised...you are unlike any I have faced before. No Redemption. No Mercy. Only Death! It is so satisfying to face one who seeks to end her enemies as viciously as I! We shall meet again my pet!::

The form began to dissipate back into the cloud of darkness in which it formed, however its presence in her mind remained for a few moments…

Feel Free to make a response. :D

Back with the group~

Ni'Tir's form shifts as she awakens, bones crack and burnt reptillian skin becomes ebony smooth skin once more. She was groggy but on her feet, regarding the scene of the battles post chaos warily before realizing their enemies were gone. She crouched down then and held her head, her hands in her dreadlocks.

Symon's questioning is answered by the befuddled looks from the mother and son. The boys mother answered first, still clearly shaken by the whole ordeal. "They.. We don't know why but... They were trying to catch us. We don't know how we evaded them but if it wasn't for you they would have caught us both. Thank you all so much!" She is nearly in tears as she explains. Her son is quiet, nodding in thanks to Symon as he stares at Symon's bloody mace...

While waiting to see if he needs to heal anyone else, Janus briefly turns his attention to the mother and son and says, "I'm Janus Sevenstar, a healer of the church of Erastil. Sorry I couldn't do more other than distract them. Unlike my friend Szymon, I never thought to carry a cold iron weapon with me. By the way, I don't mean to pry, but I am curious as to why a black dragon and an army of redcaps were chasing you in the first place."

DM Corerue:

Kiri smiles at the Dragon's confidence:
Yes, and then you shall learn the lesson of why people do not own dangerous pets.

With that, Kiri turns around, giving the dragon one last look as it flees, and returns back to the rest of the party.

After a minute or so, the white haired harrower returns to the group, a look of clear frustration on her face.
Stupid lizard. I was that close, as she says this she shows her fingers with hardly enough space to see through between them, that close to making that damned reptile fall from the sky like a rock.

"You know it, we know it... and I'd say the dragon knew it. It is defeated. Unless you intended to eat or stuff it, that should be good enough for a satisfying sense of accomplishment. Job well done by all."
Arv squats down and begins setting up his portable alchemy kit.

Kiritta simply stares at the half-orc alchemist.
I think that you misunderstand these vile evil creatures. Dragons live centuries, far longer even than the oldest of elves. It will return to its lair stew over its loss to us here. Then, it will begin to harass us and those who will eventually populate Slobada.

Eventually, we are going to have to fight this menace again, I just hope that we are prepared when this occurs.
