Sybil Vekker |

Sybil steps in, carefully avoiding the nettles and following Irnk. Once she is in, she takes a long look around, trying to find any out of the ordinary before addressing Walthus.
"Mr Proudstump, would it be possible for you to look for tracks? We need to find where the resident pass in order to follow them."
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Taking his position, holding the torch, Dao follows leaving the rest to guide.

![]() |

DM Roll: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Irnk goes first, entering the passage... after a short distance he is able to see a corpse on the floor, some 20 ft ahead, in the middle of a cavern. There is something draping the cavern wall, floor and ceiling... he touches it with one hand. It's sticky, and he pulls some of it when he withdraws his hand.
Spider Silk.
Roll perception and initiative.

![]() |

Galford still holding the torch wonders why they have stopped. Bringing up the torch slightly higher...
Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Initative 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

![]() |

DM Roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
From the spider silk a dark shape, with a round body surrounded by many legs, shows up in the ceiling and quickly throws something towards Irnk.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 5 - 4 = 19
Irnk finds himself entangled in a sticky spider web!
An entangled creature takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity, can move at only half speed, and cannot charge or run. An entangled creature can escape with a successful DC 20 Escape Artist check (a full-round action). The net has 5 hit points and can be burst with a successful DC 25 Strength check (also a full-round action). A net is useful only against creatures within one size category of you.
An entangled creature can escape with a successful Escape Artist check or burst the web with a Strength check. Both are standard actions with a DC 12. Attempts to burst a web by those caught in it suffer a –4 penalty.
Your turn!
Irnk is between you and the spider in the ceiling!

Apex Stormshard |

Goblins... Can't be hurt by fire? I didn't know that...
Apex speaks a few arcane words, and then casts her hand outward toward the trapped goblin and the spider, catching Irnk, the net, and the spider in a cone of flames.
Burning Hands: 1d4 ⇒ 4
That should cover my standard and move actions, and hopefully burn away the webs and hurt the spider. Also singe Irnk a bit, but he told me too

![]() |

The web burns to a crisp freeing Irnk... but the spider is unharmed, beign more than 15' away from Apex...

Irnk, Prodigal of Old Deadeye |

FYI; Goblins are totally as flammable as anyone else. He's just not going to admit it...
and he'd rather get burned, but be free of the webbing, than stay stuck in the webbing.
GM Corsario; is the spider by any chance larger than Irnk?..
Freed of the entrapping strands, Irnk barrels toward the grotesquely engorged arachnid.
Wait. Is that thing on the Ceiling?!

![]() |

"You know? I never did pick up a bow even though I learnt how to shoot one....bad timing?" Galford deadpans after a quick check of his equipment of course......and finds a shortbow nestled on his back.
Standard Action to draw it, lol.

![]() |

The Spider takes cover in it's web, and stays unmoving, in the ceiling.
Your turn again

Sybil Vekker |

Stress overcoming her usual restraint, Sybil snaps at Dao.
"Just take the bow and prepare to shoot the spider!" she says, almost yelling without even turning toward the tengu.
The dwarf then proceeds to observe the creature, trying to figure out why it threw a web at Irnk and whether it really poses a threat to humanoids "Is it big enough to kill and eat small or medium creatures? Is it afraid of fire?".

![]() |

There is a immobile small creature in the cavern floor...
...after a short distance he is able to see a corpse on the floor, some 20 ft ahead, in the middle of a cavern...
It's small, but you can't distinguish if it is humanoid...

![]() |

"Shoot it? Yes Aunt..." Galford shrugs and fits an arrow before lossing a shaft at the spider.
Shot with an arrow 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 171d6 ⇒ 1

![]() |

Sybil bomb arches up towards the spider, slower each moment, and misses it by an inch, falling down to the ground, clearing the cowebs in a big part of the floor, splashing fire to the corpse in the floor. Irnk is unarmed, as well as the spider.
Galford's arrow flies true, but gets stuck in the cowebs, without reaching the hidden spider.
The spider peeks out from it's cowebs, moving to a wall some 20' from Irnk, and tries to catch him in a web again.
Web: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
The web flies towards Irnk, that knowing the way his enemy attacks, manages to move to a side, wait until the web hit's and gets stuck to the wall behind him. The spider makes a mistake and is still attached to the other side of the web it has just shoot.

Sybil Vekker |

Sybil holds her breadth, while she closely watches her bomb miss the spider (since she had drunk targeted bomb admixture, there should not be any splash damage to anything). Cursing (well, to the extent that Sybil curses) under her breadth, she unstraps her crossbow and loads it.
Move action to draw weapon, move action to chrage crossbow.

![]() |

Ok, changing that... the bomb destroys only one square of the webbing on the floor... The rest of the floor is still covered in cobwebs.

Irnk, Prodigal of Old Deadeye |

Seeing the spider temporarily anchored by it's own web, Irnk takes a chance and grabs the line, yanking futilely.
?Strength?: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6, wasn't certain if this qualified as a Strength check or a CMB, given that they have the exact same total modifier it may not matter.
::Sigh:: Of course, given that roll, it matters eve less...

![]() |

Spider Strength Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Even with the slightest pull, taking advance of the situation, Irink manages to unbalance the spider and take it out of the web, and fall on it's back next to him!
The spider legs move panickedly on the air.

![]() |

Apex staff hits the Spider, but without enough force to hurt it.
Waiting for Galford...

![]() |

Seeing his chance, the Tengu lets fly with an arrow!
The spider's legs kicking out causes his to giggle at the hilarious breaking his concentration but for a moment.
Shoot 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 61d6 ⇒ 4

![]() |

The spider jump back up, it's fang reeking with poison!
Irnk gets an AoO
It goes for the kill! It attacks Irnk, trying to poison him.
Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
The spider bites his leg, but his armor protects him from damage. The spider backs away a little, and raises it's two front legs, menacing...

Sybil Vekker |

Sybil takes aim and shoots at the creature. Quickly realising that the shot will miss, the dwarf struggles to load another bold as quickly as possible. While she does so, she calls out to the tengu.
"Dao, go help Irnk, try to block the spider's retreat to its web!"
CrossbowShot: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 +1 to hit if within 30' feet and -4 if the spider is consider in melee with Irnk. Also, spider gets +4 to armor class if she has cover.[/occ]
[ooc]Won't even bother rolling damage.

Apex Stormshard |

Apex's staff circles wide, and then zooms toward the spider once more.
I'll try to keep it back while you get a better vantage! she squeals to Galford and Irnk, and then starts grabbing at her belt pouch for her scroll case.
Move action, retrieve scroll. Standard action, Hand of the Apprentice.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4

![]() |

The tengu nods even as he drops his bow and draws his blade.
lol Standard action to draw my blade.

![]() |

Yes Galford moves though it's web area isn't it?

![]() |

I was afraid of that.
Reflex to avoid Web 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

![]() |

Galford manages to move between the webs in the floor and get next to Irnk.
Avan and Walthus are behind, unable to approach.
The spider moves back, trying to avoid Attacks of Opportunity.
Acrobatics Check vs CMD: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
After it is outside their reach, it quickly climbs back up the ceiling, hissing, angry and threatening.
In the ceiling again, outside your melee reach. Your turn.

Sybil Vekker |

Again, Sybil lifts her crossbow and takes aim. Yet, this time, she waits for the spider to come out of hiding before letting the bolt go.
Hit it before it goes behind Irnk and Dao... she keeps saying in her mind.
Standard action to ready an action. Hoping to avoid maluses for shooting in melee and cover from her allies.
Readied crossbow attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Readied crossbow attack: 1d8 ⇒ 4
