As the Kaava Cutter readies to set sail the next morning, a half-orc woman with a big glaive strapped to her back and a pack dangling haphazardly from one arm runs pell-mell down the dock. As she's wearing scale mail and stood over six feet tall, it is a loud progress. Pity the various dockhands in her way.

"Woops! Woah! Sorry! Hey, watch out! Ack, sorry about that! Hey! Hey you on the ship! Don't leave without me! Kooooruuum!"

Huffing and puffing up the gangplank, the woman's momentum keeps her barreling forward to stop herself against the mast with a solid sounding thunk. Not seeming too fazed by that, she flashes a tusked, if sheepish, smile around. "Pathfinders, right? Uh, me too! The name's Shaya. Just got inta town! My brother's supposed to be around here somewhere. Uh... half-orc, like me. About yay high?" Shaya's eyes scan the group, her expression slowly falling. "...his name's Korum...?

Kul-Amon snaps out of his contemplation. There are times for mysteries aplenty, but this time is not one of them. Straightening his back, he finishes the note he had written for Hadrianna, a note where he excuses himself but explains that he has been sent out by the Pathfinder Society to distant Magnimar, a place he has heard of but does not quite know where exactly it may lie. He further apologizes, but hopes that she will be able to forgive him and meet him when he gets back. He finally states he will be sending further messages to the Temple of Pharasma.

Motioning one of the nearby street urchins to come on over, he hands over the message with an entire gold coin. "Youngling. Kul-Amon gives you this message. You will take it to Hadrianna of the Lady of Graves, a priestess of Pharasma who keeps watch over a graveyard in Eastgate. Should you not deliver the message, Nethys the All-Seeing will know. So I will know. And I will find you youngling. Now go" he commands, an intimidating look upon his face.

The youth scampers away and Kul-Amon sighs, and slowly turns to walk up the plank onto the ship. "No Shaya Steel-Skinned" he answers, stepping up onto deck. "Brother Korum the Wolf-Caller has been put under the protection of Drandle Dreng, a fate only marginally better than being hunted by the claws of demons" he states gravely, taking in the new addition from top to bottom. Once satisfied, he nods gravely a smile forming on his scarred face. "Strong. Of body and of attitude. Kul-Amon, humble servant of the All-Seeing Eye, sees you and recognizes you. Welcome sister. We are going to Magnimar. Or to Varisia. Kul-Amon is not sure which any more. But Kul-Amon hopes that Varisia or Magnimar has steel-smiths who can give me armor for coin. Kul-Amon remembers that chains can be woven like wool and made into complete armor. Kul-Amon would have one of these. Blades in the North hurt just as much as blades in the South."

After an uneventful voyage, the team arrives at the port city of Magnimar. You quickly reach the conclusion that Dreng was not lying when he referred to it as 'The City of Monuments'. Statues and architecture celebrate the history of this storied land. Kara reviews your orders and is able to navigate to the lodge. Unlike the Grand Lodge in Absalom, the chapter house in Magnimar seems to be no more than a well appointed estate.

After a brief wait, in the foyer, an ebon-haired human enters the room, followed closely by a half-elf."Welcome to Varisia, welcome to the city of Magnimar, welcome to the Pathfinder Lodge of Heidmarch Manor, but most importantly, welcome to my home." Venture-Captain Sheila Heidmarch greets you in her low, breathy voice, finishing with a warm smile.

"Varisia is a land of ancient wonders and exciting possibilities," she continues, "and I've found it most helpful to keep a team of Pathfinders on call at the lodge at all times, should anything of interest to the Society come up unexpectedly. This assignment is only temporary. We'll rotate in a new team to take your places in a few weeks, but rest assured, there's plenty of potential for you to make a name for yourselves as Pathfinders here."

"I've arranged for you to stay in Bakrakhan House, one of our guest cottages, for the duration of your stay here. It's currently unoccupied, so you'll have the place to yourselves. You're on duty starting tomorrow morning, so take some time to settle in, wrap up any unfinished business you have in the city today, and should the Society have need of you, I'll contact you directly."

"Ebrylis, if you could show them the way, please," Sheila says as she turns and departs.

A half-elf guardsman steps forward. "This way, please," Ebrylis says. "Bakrakhan House is the last house on the end. I'm sure you'll want to unpack, set up your bunks, and so on. Dinner's at sunset in the manor's dining room. Look for me at the gate if you need anything else. I'll leave you to it." With that, Ebrylis strolls back down the path.

Klo, as always, seems happy to let the others do the talking. He lumbers down the hallway, following the half-elf towards their new, temporary home. He splits his attention between looking at all the discoveries of their new surroundings as well as watching the group’s newcomer … Shaya.

In his room, he sets down his backpack, but retains his spear as a walking stick. As Kara sits down, the big man finds his way to a window as he waits for the rest of the team to prepare. He gives the sprawling metropolis around them—with its soaring spires and huge statues—an uncomfortable scowl.

thanks! Busy weekend, busy monday.

Through Kul-Amon's explanation of what's going on with her brother, Shaya listens with a bemused if polite expression. "Ah.... right! What you said! So, Nethys is it? Little too bi-polar for my tastes, but as suits you! Beauty is where you find it, wot wot?"

She occupies herself on the voyage up with... painting. Since flat sea-scapes grow boring in time, she will inevitably ask each of her fellow Pathfinder to sit for a portrait during the northbound voyage, though she is not discomfited if any refuse.

Her paintings have more enthusiasm than skill behind them.

In Magnimar, Shaya whistles when they enter the port. "Holy cats! Look at the size of those archways! That bridge! Gonna have to paint all this..."

She heartily shakes Sheila's hand on meeting the venture captain, approves of their lodgings, and invites herself along for the shopping trip- although she has nothing more she wishes to purchase. But she is an outgoing soul, striking up conversations cheerfully with any merchant they deal with, and pausing here and there to sketch particular sights before hurrying after the others for the return to the lodge.

Yeah, I'll have to edit the campaign-map link (or GMs can use that map as they wish, deleting whatever previous graphics are there, but using the same url). I can change the link tomorrow

Shaya isn't so quick upstairs, sauntering along next to Kara and asking her stories of her 'captain' title. When she hears Yargul's shout, she at first merely blinks in confusion. "Intruder? Wha?"

Then she hears the wump of a small goblin body landing, followed by Yargul's. She sticks her head out the door, eyes widening.

Placed myself in 'house downstairs' to start, then used move action to go out into the goblin's square; I'll use the standard to go for an attempted grapple (no improved grapple here though).

"Sweet Shelyn's shampoo, are you taking our stuff?! You're giving green folk a bad name. Hold still!"

Attempted grapple, will provoke: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

@Yargul, you only have to make one of the two 'choices' per box. I am certain this is easier in person. So, your first roll makes the Acrobatics check (Square #1), the second roll was enough to get you up & over the wall (Square #2). You would need to make a third check as you have to commit to either 1 or all 3. So, you need to roll a CMB or an Intimidate.

"Eep! Run Plarg!" Seeing the angry paladin coming her way, the goblin runs to the wall and squeezes through a small crack.

@Shaya, the goblin beat you on initiative. So your action this round would be to come out of the house. If you'd rather, you could retcon that by trying three checks in an effort to get ahead of her. Your first check has no obstacles, so you would have to make checks for the next two squares.

"ANGRY GNOME COMING THROUGH!"

Standard Action
Jikan tries to part the crowd, and it seems to work.
Intimidate (Slow Speed): 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 4 - 2 = 14

Move Action
He moves on and yells at the goblin. "We'll get you! I'm right... behind you!"

The merry chase continues as the goblin...

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21

darts under a passing horse.

Round 3 continued. Bold may post.

Silver Crusade

Half-orc Paladin 2 (CORE) | HP 20/20 | AC 17 | T 11 | FF 16 | CMD 15 | F +7 | R +4 | W +6 | Init +1 | Perc +0 (darkvision) | Smite 1/1 | Reroll 1/1 | Active Spells: None

Seeing the goblin getting ahead, Shaya draws herself up and bellows: "CLEAR A HOLE!" at top volume. "GET BACK HERE, THIEF!"

She wades forward, bowling people over and throwing apologies back over her shoulder as she goes-- a scene reminiscent of her dash down the dock.

Attempting the move-three-squares option as a full round

CMB DC 13: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Intimidate DC 12: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Boo. Well, failed one, by 5 or less, so I move one square.

Actually, I think I'm going to use my reroll and GM stars on that CMB check.

SHE SHOVES PEOPLE DARN IT: 1d20 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 4 = 21

Shaya almost trips, but somehow the barreling half-orc keeps her balance and gets well ahead of the goblin! She grins as she recognizes her progress. "Awwww yis. Man, Korum's not here to see it."

Full round attempt

Escape Artist, plus grease: 1d20 + 2 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 10 = 26

Intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Kara dives through the wall breach and breaks into a run, yelling and shoving aside those in her way. Outta the way! Thief, thief!

She looks at the City Watch and points to the fleeing goblin. Don't just stand there, get it!

@ Kara, the three squares includes the on you start in as you have to overcome an obstacle to leave it.

Kul-Amon's temper begins to fray. "Step away from Nethy's Chosen!" as he tries to push those in his path away!

Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 - 2 = 10
CMB: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 - 2 = 6

The crowd does not seem to respond well, with several locals approaching him and asking him "What his problem is".

Woops, in that case (re: what was said to Kara), I'm back a square too. Adjusted myself. So much for getting ahead of goblin!
