"I can see through it... " Awen passes his hand through the illusion to prove his point

Squinting her eyes at her companions
"What kind of witchcraft is this?! I am not convinced, it must be a skeletal ghost!"
Knowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Upon rethinking her previous statement...
"Perhaps you are correct on your assessment Awen... You are the authority on such matters I would say."

Awen passes his hand through the skeleton. He does not feel anything.
Lone confirms, that this skeleton is not a skeleton like he knows it and Winella finally finds out that the skeleton is an illusion coming from a silent image spell.
Arthrax continues to fight the skeleton, but his weapon swings through the illusion.
Whoever is still not sure that it's an illusion gets a +4 bonus to their will saves, Awen told you that it's an illusion and Winella and Lone can confirm that with their knowledge skills

Ignoring the spectral shape, Awen invesitgates the peephole closer. After that, he inspects the weapons, trying to identify any special properties to them

Winella moves into the room to inspect what is in there and to find any magical effects
Casts Detect Magic
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
"I wonder what else is in the room..."Winella says half to herself out loud almost subconciously

Concerned about the shadow and peepholes, Awen moves out of the room to the other door. He checks the door carefully for traps, and listens for anything beyond and then makes sure everyone else is ready as well
Take 20 on perception for trapfinding and listening, so 31

At work...please move me to whichever portal we are about to enter.
After the skeleton disappears, Arthrax grunts in dismay. Such things were unnatural! He sulks, realizing he is the only one who didn't see through the obviously fake creature. Still, he moves to the front of the group, waiting for Awen's approval before opening the door.

Winella moves to Awen and awaiting to new set of doors to open ready for whatever may lay beyond
"I'm also decent at assisting with such things with spell or skill if you ever think you may need a boost."

"Many thanks Winella. I will remember that in the future. These foot prints are funny.. did anyone see anything? We need to figure out what's going on here, but I want to clear this floor first. What do you think?"

![]() |

After thinking a bit on what Awen asked...
"I agree we should finish this floor before going upstairs however we maybe should post someone at the bottom somewhere that can watch the stairs so whoever went up doesnt come back down and out while we move further into this floor, what are your thoughts?
Did the tracks come from outside then up the stairs or from one of the rooms?

![]() |

The foot prints appear somewhere in the middle of the room out of nothing and go up the stairs
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Arthrax opens the door to the south east room. Although formerly full of finery, this large hall has been completely ransacked. Scarlet drapes lie in tatters on the floor, obsidian pedestals are smashed, and shards of red and black clay cover the floor. The southeast corner is the only exception—a large table sits there undisturbed. On it, the cultists have reconstructed an idol of Moloch: a large, armored flame creature with the head of a bull.
Three torches line the chamber, but they are near the end of their lives, casting only dim light.

"What are you searching for Awen? Does this idol appear as a fake to you?"

" I am just making sure. You never know what kind of traps or secrets may be laying about. This place gives me the creeps, and not just because of all the spy holes, the obviously new and cleaned areas and things, but no one around. I think that someone is toying with us. But I am also just suspicious and mistrustful by nature!"

![]() |

"Well I suppose we should move into the next room, this place hasn't cooled down any and now we have someone here playing games with us, I do not enjoy that, lets get through this quickly before the situation gets worse. Who is getting this door?"
Winella moves to the door listening, observing it for anything odd, wiping sweat from her forehead, straightening her hair subconsciously, beginning to fan herself with her blouse again.

Awen sees a face of a man through the peephole, but in the second he sees sees Awen he disappears somewhere in the room. Awen again sees only a shadow.
Neither Awen nor Winella detect any magic in this room. The idol seems to be a copy of the original.
Winella examines the door to the east, but she does not hear anything. There are also no traps installed on this door.
Suddenly the door behind you closes with a loud bang.

![]() |

"I saw a face through the peephole! I knew something was screwy!"
Awen will examine the door to see if it can be opened. If not, he will try to open the other (east) door.

![]() |

Winella furrows her brow
"Let us go through the door before us, the sooner we get through this place the better in the end, it's starting to give me the creeps! If would be so kind Awen or Arthrax"
Gesturing to the door and looking to see which of them is going to open it.

You enter the room to the east. Against the east wall sits an ornate brass throne, sculpted to resemble an enormous hand of flame. Wood painted to resemble tendrils of smoke rising from behind the throne merge into a detailed mural of Moloch’s idol on the wall. Beautiful tapestries line the other walls, depicting a grand battle between soldiers of flame and the dervishes of Sarenrae.
The fire ball disappears when it hits the other side of the room.

Awen will then examine the second secret door that Winella pointed out.

Arthrax sulks as everyone ignores his discovery in favor of the witch's, eventually drifting over to take his place, should his companions decide to enter. He admits to himself, albeit silently, that the more hidden entrance is likely the one they should take.

The secret door behind the tapestry seems to lead into a room you did not recognize before. While you examine the secret door you suddenly hear foot steps behind the secret door behind the throne. It sounds like a large squadron of soldiers approaching. The soldiers clank and clatter as they move and then halt before the reception chamber and discuss the readiness of a horde of fire creatures that have assembled in the Inferno Heart.
