Awen does not see or hear anything. No traps at the doors, no noise coming from the other side so Arthrax opens one of them. The door leads to a residence hall of the old cult, which were spread through the many spires and minarets of the Inferno Heart.
The chambers constitutes the central hall of the tower with several more rooms, both above and below the entry points, along with bed chambers, guardrooms, a rude kitchen and dining hall, latrines, and storage closets. Nearly all are long abandoned, with the floors covered in a thick layer of desert sand, the simple furniture broken, food longsince desiccated or rotten, and no signs of life.
Awen

"Well, nothing down here.. Lets see what is at the top of these stairs.." Awen allows someone with a sword to go in front of him, and takes second position, his bow ready
Winella
|
"Yes Awen we should continue up the stairs to find this blasted statue, its becoming tiresome with this heat!"
Waving her hand and trying to fan herself again, moving toward the stairs, motioning to her companions to come over to the staircase.

Thanks for the information! Have fun :)
The staircase opens onto a grand hall of polished obsidian and red marble. The walls are decorated with reliefs of a gleaming brass city, a massive sandstorm scouring a desert, and a horde of fire elementals descending on a city full of terrified humans. Rivers of slowly bubbling lava crisscross the floor, all streaming out of an elaborate altar at the far side of the room. Atop the altar sits a squat golden idol, 3 feet tall, of a bull-headed man, its arms raised and its hands holding a large thorned sword and a huge battleaxe. The idol’s eyes glow a deep crimson. Lava flows impossibly fast out of the bull-headed idol’s open mouth and down its torso, fanning out from there into rivers on the floor. Behind the altar, an obsidian relief of geometric forms stretches from floor to ceiling. Smoky forms flit across the relief ’s surface, their fiery eyes staring out at the room.
In front of the altar you see a young woman turned at the altar. She turns around when she hears you entering the room. "Who are you?" she asks and taking out her whip. "You are not supposed to be here, get out of this citadel or you'll burn!" she continues.

Arthrax Bellringer
|
"Well done, Awen. A shame she wouldn't surrender." Arthrax looks upon the woman with pity for a moment, before turning his attention to the figurine. He frowns for a moment, then shrugs before taking his axe and attempting to knock the figurine from its perch, having no intention of trying to grab it while lava is flowing from its mouth.
Awen
|
Awen nods in agreement with Antrax's words. He then goes to check the body to make sure that she is indeed dead, and to search her for anything interesting. Once that is done, he takes a good long look around the room.
Taking 20 fpr 31 on perception

Awen checks Hafshi and finds out that she's still breathing, but her wounds are really bad. -6 HP and dying
The cleric carries the following: wand of cure light wounds (50 charges), scale mail, masterwork light mace, masterwork whip, cloak of resistance +1
Arthrax pushes the idol from its perch, it drops to the floor and the lava stops flowing from its mouth. Removing the idol from its perch immediately closes a small but perceptible portal to Malebolge growing within the idol. From the portal you can hear cries of terror, anguish, and the sounds of metal-on-metal combat before it closes. Once the portal closes, the lava quickly dissipates from the temple.
Awen
|
Awen will bind the cleric, then look around. "Can anyone stabalize or heal her? We should bring her in if we can.. the officials may wish to question her."
Arthrax Bellringer
|
The warrior nods to the ranger, turning to gather up the fallen idol. "Alright, we have what we came for. If someone wants to get this, I'll gather up our fallen priestess so we can get out of this hellhole." He will pass the idol on, shouldering the unconscious priestess and working his way down the steps, trying to get out of the place.
Awen
|
If Awen did not find anything else of interest in the room, he will take up the idol and follow Arthrax out of the building.
GM Baerlie

Awen
|
"Someone should see if there is any more magic or anything laying around.. we dont want things to resurface later."
Awen
|
"If we are able to destroy it, we should. Lets all have a go at it, and see what happens." Awen steps forward and tries to smash it with the hilt of his sword.
Going to take 20 on this, as he would keep trying until exhausted. Total is 22. Maybe if we got everyone together, we can all aid each other. Who has the highest strength?
Winella
|
Winella casts Guidance Arthrax, rolls up her sleeves, looks back and forth with a sheepish grin, spits on her hands.
"I have seen someone do that before and it seemed to help...
