Upon reading both back stories, I feel that the Samsaran would be a better role player. It's better written and flows neatly, and shows a bit of creativity. Even though she's a witch I think she would mesh better. If we absolutely had to pick one of the arcanists, I would pick the half elf one. My ranking/votes are thus:

Although I have to bail out as gm, if you are ok with it I can still play Agatha. My hassles (which are work related) are mainly time linked which means I cannot spend the time on gamemastering this game. But playing a character is less so.

Having said that I am feeling bad about not been able to do it for you. If you cannot find a gm, my work should calm down in about a month and I could be able to continue.
