Lastly, Veres's arrow flies over into the room beyond.

It then that you all notice that the room beyond seems to have been
smashed or torn apart, exhibits of animal and beasts scattered, with limbs and sawdust across the basalt floor; among the debris a fleshy lump seems to move. From this distance it's tough to tell exactly what is going on.

Brayne races forward and jabs it with a spear opening a wound in the ooze. Almost immediately the diseased flesh starts to heal itself. As Veres begins to sing of Hungry Flesh it all becomes clear, including that they seek to slam, grab and constrict anything living in there path, and that there filthy touch can cause disease. That is if your not consumed by the by the ooze, which allows it to grow to monstrous proportions. The hungry flesh regenerates constantly, but whenever a hungry flesh takes piercing or slashing damage the regeneration seems to increase. The amorphous bodies can squeeze through even small gaps, and its slime trail can be quite slippery. Luckily Veres doesn't think they divide and of course acid and fire are the only true way to eliminate them.

Veres lines up another shot, desperate to help her friend Brayne, the last notes of her song fading from her mind as she lets the shaft fly.
Didn't start the song up again this round as it would take an action and I couldn't see doing that when we are so close to saving Brayne. I opted for the attack instead.

"Your spear Brayne! It's causing it to heal faster than you can hurt it with each strike!" Veres calls out to Brayne.

I don't know if it's actually healing more than it's taking, but it's sure good at hanging on. You could use your spear to do blunt damage instead, treating it as an improvised weapon with a -4 to hit.

Garduk's alchemist's fire continues to burn the hungry flesh, but he short arms the his Alkali flask. But Brayne's attacks, Veres's arrow, and Kulga's sling stone all hit and the flesh is torn apart.

Combat over

Piles of gooey flesh lie lifeless on the ground, and Brayne's not sure he is feeling so good.

Garduk offers Brayne his wand of infernal healing.

"Sorry about the fire blast; it seemed like the best way to get you out of that thing. But you don't look so good."

Once Brayne has used the wand (if he does), Garduk tucks it back into his wrist sheath and looks around for anything of interest, poking at things with his club and being careful not to touch the remains of the oozes with his bare skin.

Was taking the gamble earlier that the damage would do a bit more than the regeneration.

Brayne shakes his head as the ooze falters and once more let's out another sigh of relief. He declines and thanks Garduk for his offer as he produces his own wand.

It was making a little progress Brayne; once the fire damage hit it, it was even more effective.

I assume you mean the curving staircase? It actually lies behind A small door at the eastern end of the room labeled “Private Events Only.

You look around by the hungry flesh remains and only find rapidly decaying ichor. About that the time Brayne looks behind the door and spots the stairs leading up, but he is still not feeling well and becomes aware of several disgusting, fleshy tumors that have suddenly popped up on his skin, including one by his mouth.

Before taking a step further, Brayne pauses as he realises the disease coming into play, coincidentally pointed out by Garduk. "Ack, Ugh! I'm...sick?!"

Assuming next onset is one day, I'm good to continue since that con damage shouldn't have any affect to my modifiers at -1

After an examination of his physical state, the half-orc stubbornly persist. "I should be fine, let's carry on!... Ah, yes Incantation Hall, perhaps it'd be wise to clear the floor before we head through that 'private event' door." Brayne leads the group to the hall confidently regardless of his ugly state, although deep inside he cringes at the thought.

The Hall of Incantations contains a dozen pedestals displays magical trinkets, stones, baubles, and rings. Spellbook pages have been carefully framed and hung around the room’s perimeter.

Garduk grimaces with his twisted smile, feeling like a child entering a sweet shop. He begins with the item to the left of the entrance and examines it, reading any identifying plaques and using Spellcraft when appropriate to identify the items or spells on display. He will work his way around the room clockwise unless interrupted, and will cast read magic to read the spellbook pages.

Garduk begins to look at each item and very quickly has his excitement turn to disappointment. All of the items on the pedestals are replicas, none of them detect as magical at all. On each plaque in small print bottom it says 'Replica of an item from the Blakros Collection'. All in all, they are convincing looking fakes. The spellbook pages are real however, representing a wide range of arcane cantrips. All arcane cantrips are present.

One last exhibit resides on this level and a sign above the entryway reads Hall of Mysteries.
