Likewise.

Ok, the metamagically maximized extra busy spell I've been under has just lessened with one of the big things completed yesterday. If I don't post in several hours from the time of this post, I'll very likely be able to within the next few days.

Speaking of our new adventuring buddies, I intend to do what I've done for past new party members: an intro thread for each new PC, introducing some background context and some character until each thread converges with the party's timeline. I'm aiming to start that up for you both this weekend.

GM Kartari |

Ok, Brias and Fulk can start posting at long last. :)
To clarify, I started a separate gameplay "thread" (so to speak) for just the two of you. It takes place two days in the past relative to the rest of the party. Your thread will, eventually, catch up to the party's and then there will be one common thread for all. For now, think of it as a character bonding opportunity as well as a segue into the main thread.

Brias is apparently sassy. I just learned this while typing his last post.

HELLO!
So uhm long story short. I am rather under the weather.
I shall be as Sunny as I can for as long as I am able. However one day (Sadly possibly soon) The Poster known as 'Sunny' will be no more.
For me it has been loads of fun so lets live the fun to the fullest while it lasts.
will post like mad and catch up ass quickly and best I can

GM Kartari |

That does sound serious, Sunny. I do hope the best for you.

GM Kartari |

Does I needs ta' be rollin' fer thin's an' stuffs?
Not yet...

*Sunny* |

I iz bein' un till tha very endest! (^_^)

GM Kartari |

Sorry for the delay everyone. I'm really ready for bed right now, but I'm going to redouble my efforts to post more often. I'll be back within the next couple of days, so Tuesday night if not Monday.

![]() |

I jumped the gun a little bit. Please assume my actions occurred on my init.

GM Kartari |

No worries Zelda.
And no worries, Fulk, I won't make you guys stress over it. LOL. I have an idea or two coming up to help facilitate things. I just don't want to see "Oh, so for no reason whatsoever can I join you?" "Cool, lets go" with no explanation why Brias is leaving his practice and his patients behind, LOL.
I should mention that you can feel free to be very creative, as this is largely a roleplaying segment to bring you both into the main story line. Again though no worries, I have a couple of things I'll post that will help.

Brias |

Hey guys, thanks for having patience with me. I had an unexpected medical issue last week that has left me a bit out of commission. I am feeling better now and will be getting caught up on everything over the next couple of days.

GM Kartari |

Sorry, I thought we were waiting on more people for some reason for the main group. I'll definitely update both threads tomorrow, probably in the morning!

"Better" may have been premature when last I said it. It seems to be true now, though. I will jump back in; hopefully, I have not missed too much.

GM Kartari |

Oof, well glad you're well enough to post now. And LOL, looks like we posted almost simultaneously.

Brias |

Just edited my post, Brias.
I appreciate him having an assistant. I was worried about his clientele while he goes off adventuring. Thank you for that.
If he trusts her enough to have her be his assistant, I think he would trust her enough to let her know the truth of his ancestry. After all, she's bound to see him without his hex up at some point.

GM Kartari |

Sure! Yeah, that's pretty much what I was going for. :)
Fulk and Brias, feel free to create details about Drogeda or Annik BTW. Stories of shared past events and such, as you are inspired to write.

Brias |

Would anyone with some experience playing 1e mind glancing at my list of spells for me? I'm worried I may have missed taking essential spells through ignorance of the rules. Given the other characters in our group, should I have prioritized higher level healing spells, for example? Brias is a healer, both by magic and by natural means, but I don't want to step on anyone else's toes who spent valuable resources on healing magic.
Level 0 Spells (DC 14): Arcane Mark, Bleed, Dancing Lights, Daze, Detect Fiendish Presence, Detect Magic, Detect Poison, Grasp, Guidance, Light, Mending, Message, Putrefy Food & Drink, Read Magic, Resistance, Spark, Stabilize, Touch of Fatigue
Level 1 Spells (DC 15): Enlarge Person, Hex Vulnerability, Remove Sickness, Comprehend Languages, Mage Armor, Chill Touch, Beguiling Gift, Blood Money, Cure Light Wounds, Endure Elements (from patron)
Level 2 Spells (DC 16): Augury, Beastspeak, Boiling Blood, Callback, Bear’s Endurance (from patron)
Level 3 Spells (DC 17): Bestow Curse, Dispel Magic, Remove Curse, Polymorph Familiar, Protection from Energy (from patron)
Level 4 Spells (DC 18): Scrying, Spite, Phantasmal Killer, Spell Immunity (from patron)
I am very open to suggestion. I mostly just took things that sounded cool or that I felt maybe fit his flavor.

I'd say Brias is likely to be our primary healer, Rhia can heal but is specifically designed to fight undead and is likely to use healing spells in combat for that purpose if they get close.

Brias |

If it's okay with you, DM, I might adjust some of Brias' spells to feature some more high level healing/restoration magic?

GM Kartari |

Sure, Brias. Feel free.
As for advice, I've not played a lot of witches before (just one actually, and briefly... although Aliseya has been called a witch LOL). But what you have looks good to me, and Rhia's advice is sound too.
When we get to a certain point in the near future, I'm expecting the party to be just Rhia, Zelda, Fulk, and Brias, and I'm thinking of keeping one of the NPCs on. I think it's safe to say that Christoph is not coming back to the game. And, sadly, Sunny unexpectedly will not be with us going forward.
Currently, I'm giving Zelda a few more days to post. I'll move the game along this weekend.

I don't have low light vision or dark visions so there is no way I can see them to attack.
Correct that I just saw the dark vision part and missed the perception roll if I didn't have dark vision, my bad

Brias |

The way you all have handled turnover in the ranks and kept this game going is commendable. I am genuinely impressed.
And I am sad about Sunny, too. That's one hell of a thing.

GM Kartari |

Thanks Brias. Yeah, I guess I for one am very stubborn, LOL. It's been a (revolving but) great cast of characters over the years.

Sunny... yeah. We've played in other games for years here. I'll most remember Sunny as being the bubbly light that contrasts and balances my character Reijo, a very grim and angry man, from other games (check out my profile).
It's weird: I feel like I want to go to the wake, but all I know is a name and that they lived in Australia. I'm not entirely sure they passed yet, though the long absence would suggest it. So... you're in my thoughts and prayers from the US, Sunny. Thanks for all the enjoyable storytelling.

![]() |

Sunny was here for a short time but seemed like a fun person to play with. I am sorry to see her go.
As far as the game goes, I am determined to be the last one still here

Rhia Van der Geist |

I've been in a number of games with them over the years. Always a spark of fun energy and brightness. They will very much be missed.

Well I went back and looked at my last post. Good thing I didn't have any typos

GM Kartari |

LOL Zelda. I hate typing on tiny phone keyboards myself. My fat fingers always massacre the English language, so I wind up spending three times longer fixing all the typos.

GM Kartari |

Two weeks went by, and it felt like one. Sorry about the delay. I'll post for both groups shortly.

GM Kartari |

I hope everyone who celebrates had a Happy Thanksgiving. :)
Looks like Brias and Fulk found some potential danger. :)
For the thread with Zelda and Rhia, just waiting on a post from Rhia, and also for a course of action.

Brias |

Oblivious Brias is just like, "yep. Those are spider webs, alright."

GM Kartari |

Ha!
I'll likely post an update Sunday at some point. Once we get past the holidays, I should be able to get back to a weekly post, at least.
