Setebo walks through the ship, testing the wood, the ropes, tyhe strange fungal sails.

"I think this ship has seen her last harbor. There may well be enough good wood under this mold to make a raft strong enough to reach the mainland up north, bit of a walk back from there though. Still, good to have another plan if the lighthouse is gone."

Cash added to spreadsheet. Did the fungus folks on deck have anything worth recording?

Scarab Sages

If Helga fails then Amisi will try her skills

Spellcraft on the bracers: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Spellcraft on the Wand 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11

Linguistics on the logbook 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

Natalyah's disappointment is clear to read on her face. With her hopes gone, so does her patience. "Are you finishes scavenging?", she says irritably. "Might as well see if we can find some more useless bones on this ship", she mutters and tries to find a way down to the second deck.

The main problem with repairing the ship is the two large rocks that punch though the hull into the orlop deck(thats the deck below the hold for you non-naval types)

Female Half-Elf Bard 2/Ranger 2

"Well, that answers that question," Helga sighs. "It was worth looking, and it might be repairable."

Female / Female Human: Jambala Jaeg Descendent) and Deinonychus Saurian Shaman LVL 4

Atzi grimaces at the two large rocks punching throw the deck and then glares at Natalyah when her irritably returns. "Best we scavenge or else we won't have a way to buy our way off this island. Or did you think a passing ship would give us a free ride? And if they are slavers... We best have something to trade or else we better be able to out fight them and take their vessel."

She continues searching the ship until she is sure it is clear. "Once we finish with this island we will continue our exploration south and circle back to our camp and discuss our final move. This place looks solid and easy to protect. If we cut down the bridge and build our own. Perhaps one we can pull up and hide when we are attacked, then we can turn this into a solid shelter and perhaps strengthen and rebuild what we can."

Just got back from my interview, sorry for the wait!

She rubs a free hand against the wood and smiles. "With how damp the wood is it will be very hard for an enemy to burn us out, fresh water and food is close by as well... What do you think everyone?"

"We'll have to clean the mold out but it could be serviceable. I'm not concerned about slavers. Trading with them anyway. Chances are they'd simply take what you have and you as well. Ha!" With the Caithan sets down his heavy pack and unstraps Rollo as well. And goes about the task of clearing the fungus out of the room.

Details on the contents of the log .

This ship is the Nightvoice, a Pathfinder vessel out of Absolam and a ship who's fate a certain gnome back in your camp might be interested in.

The last few entries make for harrowing reading. The captain notes putting in at a small island for water and finding a strange plant a pod of which was secured for later study..

He then goes on to describe a malign influence which seemed to possess the crew..realising the danger he determined to ground the ship on the Shiv..by the time he made it he was the only Human on board the others having perished their corpses giving rise to plant creatures the like of which the captain had never seen.

Locked in his cabin he records the ships final hours before it came to rest in this spot. His final entry talks of taking the 'seed of evil' and removing it to a pinnacle of rock just offshore.

Female Half-Elf Bard 2/Ranger 2

Helga reads out what she finds of the log.

"The pinnacle ... that must be the spire of rock that we saw," she shudders. "I have some alchemist's fire still. I think we have a good use for it," she declares grimly.

Female / Female Human: Jambala Jaeg Descendent) and Deinonychus Saurian Shaman LVL 4

Atzi sighs and rubs her aching temples, she hid her frustation as their once perfect camp was still under threat. "Let us hope it is as easy to defeat as the rest of these creatures were. I agree with Helga, let us climb the spire and burn this Seed of Evil. Perhaps we could use the spire as a way to watch for the savages once it is clear?"

Harboring a vague hope that her companions would abandon the hunt for the planmen and move on to more pressing matters Natalyah's patience breaks yet again. "Then stop talking about it and lead us there", she mutters. "The faster we can get this over with the faster we can move on to more important things."

I'll most likely be unable to post until monday, so DMPC Natalyah should a fight break out.

"WRAAHCHOO!"

The room seems to shake with the Setebo's sneeze.

"Thorry. The mold themes kind of thick."

Setebo wipes his watering eyes

"Maybe dot the best plase vor a camb. Goat island better"

Setebo blows his nose in a stomach churning fashion and retreats onto the main deck and slightly fresher air.

You wait till the daily heat wave passes then make your way back across the islet to the rock pillar.

The climb will be easy(it's a DC 5) but Rollo will not be able toclimb the ropes of fungus that head up to a ledge some 40 feet up the side of the rock

"Looks a good climb. Rollo might need a hand though. Hold on.."

Setebo removes his shoulder bag, quiver, and spear. Taking a length of braided silk rope from the bag Setebo turns to the Captain.

Setebo holds the rope out to the captain, a wide smile on his face.

Atzi signals Quetza, as he continues to circle lazily above the spire, before taking hold of the knotted rope and pulling herself upward towards the top of the spire. She carried with her a set of short spears, her scimitar and her buckler. take 10 on climb check 10 + 2 = 12

Female Half-Elf Bard 2/Ranger 2

BTW Wellard, you never told us what the bracers and the wand were, and both Amisi and Helga rolled for them.

Rollo on a harness..I'm a bit doubtful..though by the animal companion rules he is a small creature till you hit 4th level. He won't be very happy though

No, rollo's medium. He uses wolf stats. Which makes things harder actually. First we have to convince him to get on the mutant's back, that's a ahndle animal roll, than SEtebo makes a climb check with a penalty, If I Aid Another that's a +3 on that roll so it's not [i]that [/i difficult, then of course we have to repeat the process to get him down. Yeah, I'm thinking no.

Caithan laughs and casually waves off Setebo. "No thank you friend. Rollo will just have to stay here until we return." Giving the loyal warhound a scratch behind the ears CAithan prepares to make the climb up the vines.

Stripping down to fighting gear(that makes sense given the distance you have to go on the ropes of fungus) and leaving your packs under Rollo's watchful eye you clamber carefully up the ropes to the ledge which is barely big enough to hold all off you safely. A low opening in the rocks surface is shrouded with sheets of fungus that writhe unnaturally in the slight breeze.

I'm assuming everyone takes 10 on the climb so even Amisi can make a DC5 at that

Female / Female Human: Jambala Jaeg Descendent) and Deinonychus Saurian Shaman LVL 4

Once Atzi reaches the ledge she clambors up and crawls her way a few feet from the rope, before standing and brandishing her Scimitar in a protective manner. Guarding the rope until everyone else was able to finish climbing up. She eyed the odd moving fungus with a wariness akin to a predator entering another animals den. She didn't like how unnatural all of this seemed...

Female Half-Elf Bard 2/Ranger 2

Bracers to Amisi if there are no objections, and either of us can use the wand.

Helga draws a cloth across her nose and mouth to try and keep out spores and readies her flasks of alchemist's fire.

Good with leaving Rollo to guard but Setebo could have made that climb carrying the Captain. Assuming heavy load from Capt and gear gives a -6 to climb taking 10 still puts Setebo at a 12 total. Rollo would likely have been a medium load giving a take 10 total of 15. Climbing is one of Setebo's special skills. That said guard dog is a better position for Rollo.

Setebo takes the climb with ease. He makes sure to bring up the rear of the group so he is in a position to provide help if needed.

Arriving at the ledge he draws his saber, the spear was left below, and takes a tenative poke and one of the fungal sheets.

"This is not a good place, I think."

Natalyah crouches next to the entrance and peers down into the darkness and sighs. "They will see us coming", she mutters. "Don't let them hear us as well", the ranger continues and gives a stern look at the less stealthy members of the party. Not expecting a reply Natalyah draws her short sword and holds it up to Amisi. "Conjure a light on this", she says and decends into the darkness with her blade gripped tightly in her hand.

Scarab Sages

Amisi casts light on the tip of the short sword and hopes Natalyah will be fine.

I assume 10 minutes are passed since the last spell.

Setebo breaks free from the two tentacles but they have left their mark in bent ribs and strange burns.

As in the previous fight with the plant thing Setebo seems to grow, becoming larger and more monsterous. Again his hands twist into claws unlike last time though as he grows now the bruns and bruises seem to fade. Setebo steps forward closer to the thing and brings his sabre down in a vicious, if badly aimed, two handed swing.

DM. Forgot to note raging saves Fort +7. Ref +2. Will +3. Sorry. Also miscalculated the thrown club damage. Should be 2 points higher. I appear to have applied half STR for some reason. I'm cool if we have gone too far to correct. Thanks.

Helga! Be careful with that flask. Remember only you can prevent Setebo fires.

Amisi looks for an option to cast burning hands without engulfing all her comrades while still staying out of reach of the creature.

Damage would be 2d4. Reflex DC16 to halve it. She will use the ALchemist fire when casting - this means if the creature fails the saving throw it will be affected as if hit by an Alchemy fire as well.

I can move up to 30 feet and possibly I could try from the side. But difficult to judge in an online game when position is crucial.
