Been watching the Dark Souls 3 launch trailer and was thinking of an 'Ashen One' character.

Cleric/Warpriest of Groteus?
Actually thought of a halfling character for any Cheliax games as an 'Ashen One' who speaks to other halflings about not having any more children and thus deliver his people from bondage by eventually having them all die from old age and emptying cCheliax of their slaves.

I am one of those people who just can't play Dark Souls. The first one was just too frustrating and I can't play the sequels if I haven't played the originals. It's a setting and a concept I really like though. I guess I'll just have to watch some Lets Play videos and appreciate it with someone else's skill.

I can't play Dark Souls either. I have a general complaint about the learning curve. Not that it is too steep (I play a lot of old rouge-likes and have an off-again on-again love affair with Dwarf Fortress), but that it is too random. Other than the very basics (how to dodge, how to block) very little skill learned is transferable to the next part of the game.

Also, apparently Paizo ate my post from earlier where I checked in saying I was waiting to see what happened with Rose.

You know what, I'm not going to argue. Instead, I'd like it to be stated, clearly, that in the future if I have my shield on my person, assume it is strapped to my arm. If I need to drop it or put it away, or do anything with it other than carry it, I will say so.

Why Rose’s plan failed?

I dropped subtle hints of where the celestial attacked first: Boggards running after being attacked.
With her flying and invisibility, Callistae had already searched the cave entrance (where the treant would fit) for any indication of Jurak, she found nothing (she is familiar with the place, being friends with the treant for many years already).

Since Callistae cannot tell when someone is good or evil (she doesn’t have detect), her preferred method is to use Charm Monster and ask her questions without any worry of being deceived. She uses the spell because the caster is aware when the spells fail. The rest was simple to watch Rose try again and again to lure the celestial to the caves, which she had already visited.

I’ll wait until selection is over, so we can have the new players to join before the moondogs return. I think it’ll be better that way, I just hope I don’t kill them in the first combat… ;O

“Asmodeus is with you.” Adrastus Thorn indoctrinates you into the deeper mysteries of worshipping the Prince of Hell. Whenever you channel energy, you gain a +1 trait bonus to the save DC of your channeled energy.

“Deception is a tool. Master it.” Adrastus Thorn teaches you the subtle arts of deception and how to sense when they are being used against you. You gain a +1 trait bonus to Bluff and Sense Motive.

“Discover what is real and what is illusion.” Adrastus has taught you to see through deceptions and to never lie to yourself. You gain a +2 trait bonus on saving throws against illusions.

“Fear nothing save our dread lord.” Adrastus Thorn has shown you fear and taught you to master it within yourself. You gain a +2 trait bonus on saving throws against fear effects.

“Focus strengthens your will.” Adrastus Thorn drills you on ways to avoid magic that seek to take control of your mind and divert you from your mission. You gain a +2 trait bonus on saving throws against charm and compulsion effects.

“Let us perfect your favorite spell” Adrastus Thorn drills you again and again in the use of one particular spell. Pick one spell. This spell’s effects manifest at +1 caster level.

“Wear your armor like a second skin.” You have drilled extensively in wearing armor in combat. When you wear armor of any sort, reduce that suit’s armor check penalty by 1 to a minimum check penalty of 0.

“You shall be my angel slayer.” Adrastus thorn spends exhausting amounts of time teaching you about good celestials, their strengths and weaknesses. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Knowledge (planes) and you can make untrained checks about good-aligned celestials and receive a +1 trait bonus to any damage roll you make against them.

What I want you to do is: take those as model and create one that fit your char. Just remember that bonus do not stack! If you already have a +1 trait bonus on intimidate, creating a new trait that gives you another +1 is meaningless. It will not stack! (Even if the rules says the should, I'm says otherwise. It will not stack!). The purpose of those traits is not to make you better at one particular thing, but to make you have more options (But you can still make it so you are better at one thing you already is good at). Post here your trait suggestion and we'll work to make it happen in game. If you do not want to create one, just pick one of those I posted. Others traits (From paizo) are not allowed at this point.

1&2) Cohort - I read through the current players; it would seem the party already has a cohort. With the way I flavored Harsk, he seems more apt to stay in the city, plottimg stuff for Valence, and that's cool with me. But as I PMed you about, I built him as a PC instead of an NPC per the Leadership rules.

So: 1- If he isn't going to have mechanical roles, do you want me to rebuild him, or just let him exist off-camera in whatever way he....exists? 2- Do you want an alias just for him?

3) The modified Leadership post contradicts what you told me via PM. Should I use my Int as highest skill, or Dex as the primary for my class? Except, arguably with my focus on skills, Int might be the primary...

With regards to the trait, assuming this would be the result of Thorn's training, my initial idea would be to ask for something like this:

"Never let your enemy see hesitation or weakness." Adrastus noticed quickly that Cecelia's doubts and unfamiliarity with her new powers provide openings for her enemies to strike. He has trained her to harden her resolve and remain focused in battle. +2 to concentration checks.

Trait: "True power stems from the will to use it" +2 UMD as Adrastus shows Valence how a real caster activates items.

Organization: Do the PCs already have one? And would whomever else has Leadership like to tell me a little bit about who you are and what you do? I'm sure we'll get to it in gameplay, but there are a lot of personality nuances that probably don't translate the same on-screen. Valence could gauge the PC's personality a lot better than I can, and that would change how well he could work with them and how willing he would be to have an organization with them.

Edit: While I'm at it; three Disguise rolls for my magic cloak.
