After a fierce battle, the group is victorious and may continue the ritual.

DM Aku |
Hello guys.
I have one more test later today (they changed the date from saturday to today), and possible a special exam on Tuesday (Since I’m sure I won’t be able to score the all points I need to pass on the subject.), then I’m done and back to my normal schedule.
I apologize again for the delay and thank you for your patience.
Cecelia Wentworth |
Yep. Life happens. At least you are letting us know you are still alive.

Hound |
Would it just be more expedient for us to just kill the dogs and get on with the ritual?
Cecelia Wentworth |
We do seem to be a bit stuck at the moment, short of going back in time to keep RPing the dinner.

Yikes. Hope you are feeling better and that it wasn't anything too serious.
Nahia |
Hey Aku, I'm wishing well for your health and sorry to hear about your hospital stay!
Nahia |
Nahia, you can only precisely determine where the enemy is when you are whitin 5ft of the enemy. Please check the link for precise information.
Interesting, because that is in direct conflict with the Core Rulebook.
A creature with the scent ability can detect an invisible creature as it would a visible one.
I think since the Monster Rules both came later and are more specific, they are probably correct though. It would have been nice to know that before suggesting a party action based on it. But Nahia doesn't have scent and never has, so let's chalk it up to that.
Thinking about it, it makes sense in a lot of ways. Though the side effect of making blind sense better in nearly every situation is a little disappointing. Though I do wonder if that is supposed to mean that making a perception check to spot something in the distance is a move action. Hmm, something to think about...
Cecelia Wentworth |
Cecelia, I moved your token on the map for you.
Thanks and apologies in advance. Seems like a lot of the action in this game happens while I am at work, so not moving my token may be a recurring offense. As for this situation, I am greatly fighting the urge to make visibility worse, just to level the playing field. But I am holding out for now, since I don't want to scupper anyone who has area targeting options...We'll have to see how the Create Water plan works.

Hound |
We need to start carrying flour bombs and tossing them around. Maybe have the minions start chucking them from the side lines.
Mysty |
Apologies, but the flu has been very distracting, plus starting a new job
(Horrible timing). Hopefully starting to improve. Pls bot me if needed
DM Aku |
Hound eventually arrives and looks on the carnage. At this point, I say it is a waste of time hiring any more minions since they keep dying. We'd be better off layering the area with magic alarms and learning to sleep in armor or even get magic that eliminates the need.
At this point, I know it's just RP, but it's worth to mention that I'm not putting any con/pros of having minions. However they are what keeps the place running, leaving you free to, just play your character.
If you decide to dump the minions, you'll have to start rping for the lack of them, meaning: No one to clean, no sentries, hollow corridors, lack of life and so on.
DM Aku |
I'll assume that's RP, but let me clear something:
Moondogs: Good outsiders that hunt evil. They have no affiliation with Mitra or whatever.
The Baron: Baron Arkov Vandermir, the half-elf you guys met with Tiadora when you arrived at farhold. He is not part of the Knot of Thorns, however fear of the cardinal makes him willing to help your cause.
The Cardinal: High Priest of Asmodeus, your master and patron.
Mitrans: Zealot fanatics that wish to make the world bow to their own god.
--
Altho not all updated, you can see a list of NPC’s you met on the game here, on the tab: Act Two: The Horn.
Cecelia Wentworth |
On my end, I can honestly say its just RP. As I admitted in recruitment, I have GMed through this entire book and I'm actually about a third of the way through GMing the last book at this point.
However, I am trying to go with the flow because:
a) I don't want to use meta information (ie. Assuming the moondogs are allied with the Mitrans is a fair assumption, so it would feel like cheating to correct them, since I don't know what they have been told.)
b) I figure there may be some things you changed or the party handled differently (ie. I was wondering about the Baron thing, but thought they might have some kind of special arrangement with him).
Hound |
Ok, seems are actions are to.
1.Clean up the tower
2.Get Piazadora summoned so our new members take the oath
3.Keep watch and keep doing the ritual.
Cecelia Wentworth |
I believe Cecelia is already signed and ready to go with the contract, so you just need to get Bizan signed up.
Other than that, I would agree with Hound's plan. I might also ask what the shopping arrangements are in Farholde, since I was only slightly kidding about the scroll of Invisibility Purge. If that thing decides to come back, I don't really want to spend another month and half bringing the other one down ;p
Also, @Aku: Is it fair to assume that Cecelia can just heal everyone up at this point or do you want me to roll out every cast?
Nahia |
This is supposed to be free RP time. Have a dinner, make plans, reveal a secret, play a prank. : )
From a story perspective, we should probably hold off on summoning Tiadora. She got kind of mad the last time.

Hey, DM Aku, just a heads up, I'm going to be scribing some scrolls. Also, I'm going to be using Blood Transcription on that Snake Lady.
Hound |
Hound will just be stomping around cleaning up the corpses. Socializing is left to others.
Seren Little |
Random Check in (only been like exactly a year after Nahia messaged me last)! Just want to say that I'm super happy that this campaign still looks like it going on and fairly active, and that I still recognize some of the players. Seren will always have a special place for me, she's still far and away my favourite character I've ever played (In either RL or PbP).
Update for those who know me: Job has finally stabilized, and have access back to boards so yay, ability to PbP again! Couple of promotions later, and life is pretty good. Also new baby girl Caroline at home!
Hope everyone is doing great, and I'll likely be creeping the thread/campaign for the foresee-able future.
DM Aku |
@Cecelia:
Outside combat, usually RP time there's no need for rolls on most of the cases. Other than that, I don't kinda like 'discussion assumptions' and I really like (with many detail as possible) those little acts in gameplay as role play, it makes the game rich and enjoyable.

Guys, a head’s up.
I’ve been having some issues in the place I live for some time now.
My stuff keep ‘disappearing’ without apparent reason and the landlord isn’t really trying to help me with this.
I might be moving in the next couple of days, therefore no internet access at home for some days.
I’ll try to keep you guys updated and post a notice if/when I move out.
DM Aku |
@Bizan
For you, that is completely like a fish out of water with the current things happening in the game:
1 – Summon a Daemon Prince, bind/coerce him onto delivering the disease.
2 – The ritual will last 222 days.
3 – The knot subjugated a tribe of boggards, Hound being the new chieftain (He even has three boggard wife).
4 – The Baron is a middleman that can facilitate your life in acquiring out of ordinary items while helping you keep a low profile.
5 – There’s a place called: Drownington, and it has a manor and chief. Drownington is located in the middle of farhold. (check campaign tab)
6 – There’s a black market in Drownington.
7 – There’s an orphanage managed by an old wizard, sustained by the baron. It’s from there most of the minions are recruited.
8 – There’s a giant dread wraith on the third floor, the knot has an somewhat fragile alliance with him.
9 – Hexor and Vexor are friendly outsiders keen into helping you achieve your life’s dream!
10 – There’s a second group of villains in the town. They are responsible to keep you guys informed of what’s happening and delete threats when possible.
Nahia |
@Seren, Congratulations! I'm so glad to hear that you are doing well!
Cecelia Wentworth |
Nahia yells to be heard down the hall "And this is exactly what I mean by needing to loosen up!"
Don't worry, I'm sure she'll loosen up eventually...and I'll probably have her come awkwardly back as soon as one of the others show up. Hopefully she is at least fun to tease in the meantime. :p
Mysty |
Guys it has been an insanely crazy time for me. I have started a new job and had a not fun dose of flu, and I have to hang on to my prior job as well. Well I'm (touch wood) over the flu. So I'm back now. Sorry for the absence and hassles. I'll start posting tomorrow once I'm up to date with what's going on.
Nahia |
@Mysty, Sorry to hear about the flu and how crazy things are getting! I hope things get better for you soon!

Yeah, I expected a freak out. Nahia's just having a bit of fun with the fresh meat (pun intended) and setting the stage for your emotional weakening and inevitable downfall.
... Uh, did I type that last part out loud? Cause that was totally a joke... Right, a joke... ¬_¬
Hound |
Anyone getting their plans put through? Our Dm will probably punt this along next time he arrives.
