He checks it's windings as he says "I thought leaving it behind a good idea because it breaks easily and I couldn't think of a reason we would need to record any sounds."

Now

Looking to Sarano, he says "So plan for every forty to forty-five minutes to be safe?" He nods, "That should work just fine!"

Earlier at the lodge

Mol will happily store any gear you want to leave behind, and write it in the ledger. “Oh, that's lovely,” she says, looking at Eits. "Are you sure you want to leave it behind? I can see how something like this can help with the documentation for your chronicles, but I understand wanting safe storage."

Over the border

Zohruk wishes you well and sends you along your way. "Take care out there, and let me know any interesting you see. Belkzen is always changing, and intel is precious to me. Best of luck with your mission."

After a few hours of travel, the landscape of Belkzen is bleak. Barren, dusty and dry, the wind tastes of ash and distant smoke. In the high ground, the only plant life are lichens and a few thick-leaved succulents. In the low ground, there is some evidence that this land becomes a verdant floodplain when spring hits. For now though, it just looks dead. Stali spots a wide variety of drought-resistant plants, lying in a limp and dormant state. There are scattered dry trees, presumably with very deep roots, caves and rocky formations, and tall tinder-dry grasses. With Stali and Chak scouting ahead, and Vralk flying high, the group makes excellent progress into the hinterlands.

Vralk:
Vralk spots two armed groups of orc warriors, weighed down with crude and heavy packs. Vralk notices that none of the groups are traveling in your direction... They all seem to be leaving the area.

Stali and Chak scout ahead on the ground. Hidden in the tall and brittle grasses, they narrowly evade a group of orc warriors, some of whom are half-dragging limping and wounded comrades. A bit more disturbingly, you they come across evidence of what may have been the bodies of several orc hunting parties as you travel. The orc bodies appear to have been charred, torn apart and mostly eaten, with bits of flesh and bone scattered far from the original corpses.

Survival and heal checks, anyone? As always, you may take ten.

Truly, there has never been a crow more terrifying than Vralk the Mighty. All the orc warrior bands flee from his terrifying visage.

Sense Motive, GM, DC 18:

Bluff: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

Yep, Hilary is full of it. As usual.

___

Gallako, Stali, Chak or Survival 15:
There are deep claw marks in the ground in a couple places from a medium sized quadruped. They appear avian or reptilian, though it is hard to make the prints out because they only seem to come from takeoffs and landings. There are also bootprints from at least three or four medium sized humanoids of different weights and sizes. These bodies appear to have been charred, then looted, of some of their valuables, as there are slightly charred knife and sword sheaths, but the blades themselves are missing.

Stali or Survival 20:
There are scorch marks elsewhere, about 180, 120 and 60 feet away, without bodies. The pattern make you think these guys were herded.

Sarano, CSI Expert:

It's great that you've had so much medical training, Sarano. You can tell that these guys were hit with fire blasts in two separate directions. One of the blasts came from above, the other at ground level. However, you can also tell that a bunch of them were hit by arrows before they died, and at least one was CDGed with some sort of slashing weapon.

Analyzing the battlefield and the charred remains, trying not to cry at the smell of the charred dead remains, she manages to describe how they died none the less.

” However, a bunch of them were hit by arrows before they died, and at least one was executed with some sort of slashing weapon.”

Holding a finger and pointing at Vralk flying high above, ”Vralk be careful, you may not be alone, I think there is a dragon or something up there with you,”

Disturbed but not deterred from your mission, you camp overnight in one of the caves, and your watches go undisturbed. The next morning you set out early, with not an orc in sigh. It does not take you long to find Kala’s tears, a rocky mountain that soars over the landscape. Halfway up, you see a rocky ledge with entrance that you seek.

How do you proceed?

"Well, excuse me!. I hadn't realized that so Mighty a creature as you required assistance from a puny Crow like me"

Before proceeding himself, Gallako will proceed to cast a cure light wounds from his wand on Vralk

cure light: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6,

Everyone is up on Slide THREE

The two orc scouts, who had been laughing about the bird, suddenly come to full alert. "Fewmets!" One of them spits to the ground. "AT var ingen fugl! Vi har selskab!"

The other nods and shouts, "Kom med det!"

Orc:
"Fewmets! That was no bird! We have company!"

"Bring it!"

They retreat behind the partial cover of the cave door, waiting for you.

He then quietly moves along a narrow ledge and into the rocks.

This thread is STILL not updating properly, only saw it because I checked in for activity. Could I be 'added back', please?

The grandmother is surprisingly shocked when she makes it to the top of the cliff in one piece and not falling to her death as she anticipated. As Stali and the other stealthier components of the team make their approach, she does her job, which is to try and be clanky, loud, and draw attention while getting to cover.

Double Move, full speed, no stealth

Gallako will just start waving his flag and singing while advancing

+1 to hit/damage for everybody, an additional +1/+1 if within 30 ft of Gallako

Ah, but then we weren't in rounds or initiative... Now we are!

"Hellige lort! Har fuglen vokse?" The red orc looks momentarily surprised as he sees Andrietta standing obviously in the foliage.

"Nej, det havde ikke panser før!" Blue says, reasonably. Then he gives a nasty grin. "Det er stort heldige vi behøver ikke en ovn til at stege det!"

Both laugh at his joke, then Gallako sings.

"Clear at en, hurtigt!" Red looks troubled. "Der er flere af dem ..."

Orc:
"Holy crap! That the same bird?"

"Nope. Tha armor's new!" "Good thing we won't need an oven to roast that one!"

"Clear that one, fast!" "There are more of them..."

Perhaps unnerved at the way Andrietta is unblinkingly moving towards them, all but one of their shots miss the Paladin.

Hikaru moves closer so he can get to the door soon. I said he moved up so he was within rushing distance of the door, but never moved his icon... so now it's moved... next round maybe he can charge up there.. or at least get closer.
