Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"Who has our map? Does it give any clue as which way we should head?"

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

With a flourish I present to you the map of these caves as true as Doverspeak said they would be. Once the map ends it is uncharted territory.

The map is placed upon one of the carts (not the one with a body underneath.

Glancing at the human body under the cart, and a slightly angry expression: Orc

Spoiler:
They can't even honor the dead, they simply leave them to rot. I will burn them down.

Male Human, Qadiran Rogue 1

For how long he lies there? Poor fellow. You will be avenged.
Do. Not. Touch. He can be infected. Uh... Could be.
Tamir helps to light the map and studies it with his fellow adventurers.
What can he learn from the map?

"So what is the closest path to water source?" - Melchior said while poking body with his foot.

Dovenspeak's Map

Judging from the map, the main source of the silver was off to the east. The west direction leads to the main dining hall. As for where the source of the water came from, east seems to be as good a direction as any.

Anyone can give me a Heal check to see how long this guy has been dead. While you're down there, also give me a perception.

Female Gnome Druid/2

"Poor soul. I wonder who he was?" Clarissa hops off of Tiny to inspect the body.

Heal: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

"This man was killed by puncture wounds to the neck and chest. And it looks like he's been here for a good while, so I don't think he's contagious. We could attempt to move him."

Male Human, Qadiran Rogue 1

Tamir points to the map.
I think we should check the hall before venturing into unknown. Last thing we need are kobolds behind our backs.
Then he turns to the gnome, kneeling near the corpse.
Why would you want to do that? Wait, let me guess.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"I believe Tamir is right, the dining hall should be our first destination. As for the dead fellow, lets have a look..."

perception: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (16) - 2 = 14
heal: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (17) - 2 = 15

Melchior pulls the body by the leg, moving it from beneath the cart, while still holding gretsword in his right hand.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

Survivors would likely be west of us in the dining area, maybe some scavenging kobolds. The main body would likely be east, I've heard they mine. Is anyone well equipped for scouting? We can check the dining hall and one scouts the east, we can stay together, either way. It's wouldn't be smart to separate too much as alone we could be overwhelmed.

As Melchior pulls on the body he hears a snip. What was tha-- kaBANG!!!!

Everyone except for Grun give me a Fort Save.

Female Gnome Druid/2

Clarissa Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Tiny Fort Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Male Human, Qadiran Rogue 1

What?!
Then the explosion hits Tamir and any further thought was roughly interrupted.
Fortitude: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

I thought moving the body would be a bad idea. In character I'm reading the map and not noticing it much.

The body was a trap I believe. We touch nothing unless we need to, agreed?

I wait for whatever is coming.

Held action to dodge or hold my breath, as needed.

Fortitude: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
"Sure, but i feel urgent need to touch the one who made this trap" - Melchior says if he is still alive

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"Well, just from looking at the body one thing is for certain, Judging by the rate of decay on the body he's been here for about 2 weeks. He was definitely suffering from the plague before he died as well. Grun, I'd recommend you don't go near it."

Truaks looks back at Grun to see his reaction to this news. He Continues.

"I can also tell that the wounds show that these punctures were caused by crude crossbow bolts."

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

At Truaks comment my eyes narrow slightly and I shake my head.
I had no intention of touching the body. I have no intentions of touching anything except what is required. My abilities lie in the arcane; traps I will likely not see. You seem to have familiarity with wound patterns; you see that often in your line of work?

One person failed the Fort Save. They have been notified of the fail and what happened.

The deafening blast was caused by a Thunderstone, now burnt out and useless.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

Regardless of the circumstances they know we are here. We mustn't rush into danger, we can find every detail about the incidents here if we desire.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"It is unfortunate Grun, but yes I have seen my fair share of wounds along my travels. Some my own, others not."

Female Gnome Druid/2

"Oh gods that smarts!" Clarissa shakes her head to get the ringing in her ears to stop. "Well, we were warned that Kobolds are trap makers. That was a thunderstone, a well placed one too. No doubt the know we're here now."

Tiny shakes his head as well, whimpering a little. Clarissa starts speaking to him in a language none of you recognize to calm him down.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

I consult the map again, and try to bring everyone in to decide on the next action.
Come, everyone, we must coordinate our next move. Left, right, or another idea? Strong arms leading, scout first, mages in the rear?

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"I think we should take a look into the dining hall before moving forward through the mine."

Female Gnome Druid/2

"I agree with the Paladin with exploring the dining hall. But we should be careful. No doubt they heard that thunderstone go off."

She hops back on Tiny, spear at the ready.

Male Human, Qadiran Rogue 1

Tamior hands his torch to the orc and draws his bow.
I hoped to use it a bit later. I will go first - because of all light and noise from you they`ll never notice me.

Melchior was about to go so the mine but seeing everyone moving toward dinning hall just flows along.

Moving up to the door, everyone can tell that something isn't right. The room is quiet. Way too quiet...

Perception if you want to, but as a warning, you'd need to speak the language or have points into Linguistics to understand it.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

I'll make a check even though I only speak common, just to see if I can hear or see anything.

perception: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (16) - 2 = 14

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

Perception 1d20 ⇒ 5

Female Gnome Druid/2

Clarissa: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Tiny: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

Let us go to the dining hall and continue our explorations.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Agreed

Female Gnome Druid/2

Gonna push ahead.

Clarissa had the best hearing of the party, but even she couldn't hear anything in the next room. Maybe it's empty? (With me GMing, yeah right. :D )

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

With a hand on his axe and the other on the Crest of Iomedae Trauaks speaks.

"I will lead the way if no one wants to volunteer. Or is there someone who might rather scout it out first?"

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

No one has the necessary skills to scout well except the short one, and she didn't say anything. Either way we must be wary. Lead on.

Female Gnome Druid/2

Clarissa glares a Grun for calling her "short," but lets it slide for now.

She gets her spear ready and positions herself and Tiny behind Truaks. "I'll follow you in."

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Armed and ready for whatever, Truaks starts walking towards the sining hall.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

When Clarissa glares at me I grin slightly.

Truaks realizes as he enters that not only is it dark, it stinks to high heaven. This large, square room houses four long wooden tables, each with a bench on either side. On top of the tables lie a number of wooden bowls and eating utensils. In the southeast corner of the room, a small stewpot steams over a fireplace carved into the floor. The table in the northwest corner of the room, opposite where you came in, has been turned on its side.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

"oh holy... that smell. I'm not quite sure the cause of it, but with a fire still burning whoever was here can't be far off..."

"Yarg yap!" Suddenly a kobold from behind the table in the corner shouts a command, three more kobolds jump out and fire their crossbows at the nearest target: Truaks.

Kobold 1 To Hit Crossbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Kobold 2 To Hit Crossbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Kobold 3 To Hit Crossbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Kobold 2 Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Kobold 3 Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6

Oh my god I am so sorry! The dice have a mind of their own! Roleplay out how you take the damage. You're not dead yet!

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

not dead at -1a hp?

Just as Truaks starts feel a sense of something evil in the room he hears the terrible sound of kobolds.

Before he is able to turn around and face them the sound of their voices is drowned out as he hears the snap of several crossbow strings and their arrows flying through the air. Time begins to slow as a pain sears through his back and he falls to the floor. His world goes black and he falls into unconsciousness as Death's fngers try to take his last breathe, all before he ever has a chance to say his prayers to Iomedae.

Nope, you are not dead yet. When your health is below 0, you're unconscious. Every turn you don't have any healing effects placed on you you roll a d20 plus your constitution modifier minus your current HP. You're trying to roll a total of 10. If you succeed, you stop bleeding out and you don't die. If your health reaches your constitution score negative, you've passed from this life into the next. The first round of unconsciousness you don't have to roll, but every round after that you do.

To save time, I'll roll initiative for everyone. Post whenever you want to, then I'll post a resolve for your actions.

Initiative Rolls:
Init: Truaks: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Init: Grun: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Init: Tamir: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Init: Clarissa and Tiny: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Init: Melchior: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Initiative Order:
Truaks: 20
Tamir: 16
Clarissa and Tiny: 14
Grun: 13
Melchior: 8

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

So the first rouns I pretty much can do nothong right?

Truaks lays on the ground motionless.

Female Gnome Druid/2

Clarissa will ride into the fray atop Tiny and stab at one of the kobolds with her short spear while Tiny attempts to bite one.

Clarissa To Hit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Tiny To Hit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

But she misses horribly, as does Tiny.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

I am assuming I am within close range of said kobolds and how are they spaced, how far were they in relation to me? If within 30 ft I do the following.

I move to within 15 ft of the kobolds, 5 ft separation from them and cast Color Spray. My chanting is done in Orc with sharp muscular movements.

As I am moving up to the kobolds I state "Take him out of here, gain cover". Loud enough to notify the others but not be heard throughout the complex.

I try to have all of them in the 15 ft cone which emanates from me, will save DC 15. My AC is currently 16.

Grun moves to the opposite side of the table Clarissa is attacking at and, with one mighty spell

Kobold 1: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
Kobold 2: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
Kobold 3: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6
Kobold 4 (Leader): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14

fells three of the kobolds except the one Clarissa is attacking. The kobold shouts something in draconic and dashes to the other side of the room in an attempt to flee towards the door to the east.

Grun may make an attack of opportunity.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

Against the fleeing kobold:
Attack with greataxe 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
damage 1d12 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

coup de grace on the nearest stunned kobold
damage-26

Intimidate against any kobolds when they are free from the stunned condition, and I motion to the dismembered corpse(s) and back to them.1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 plus any circumstance bonuses. Stun lasts for 1d4+1 rounds 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
