Utrath's stone smacks into one of the archers in the stomach so hard that his immediate reaction to the pain he bends over forward and then falls off the scaffolding, crashing into the ground below.
Rabe brings his blade to a heavy blow now, forcing Captain Ellis to spit up some blood from the force of the blow and he leers at the barbarian who stepped back to get magically healed by finder of stones.
Captain Ellis
Captain Ellis reaches down to pick up his blade whilst Alycadian gets his chance to strike at him, however the captain manages to just dodge the blow from his weapon and finder of stone's spear. He then takes out a potion bottle, biting the cork and removing it with his teeth, spitting it in the direction of the Tiefling and then guzzling down the drink. Suddenly a shimmering, magical field around. He points his finger at alcaydian, inviting him over to take another swing.

From the force Alcaydian's swing, the captain caughs and splutters up blood, looking as if he's in a really bad state and looking pale from the blood loss.

The spell he used was Magic Missile.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Ostog's swing misses, narrowly getting close to those in the leather, but not close enough.
Men of the Crimson Banner #2
The leather-wearing guard with two swords approches Ostog, attacking with both his blades, but both blaes are unable to hit him as Ostog moves out of the way of the incoming blades.

Those with their bows out open fire on the group. One manageing to his Utrath, hoping to bring down the accurate slinger who had killed one of their comrades with a single stone. DM Aron Marczylo |

Almost forgot about these guys.
Men of the Crimson Banner #1
Armoured boots hit the floor as more come from the north, making their way, but the armour thankfully slows them down too much to get too close.
The only two concious ones near you take their swings. the first hits Jaidoh, but doesn't appear to have put enough force behind the blow whilst the second swings at Alcaydian, missing as he deftly dodges out of the way.
attack vs Jaidoh: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Rabe the Huntsman |

apologies, I was a little behind on who posted what and wasn't aware my turn was coming around again.
Hp: 8
Grinning at captain Ellis and feeling well enough to continue fighting I 5ft step up again and swing at him.
attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
damage 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 1) + 7 = 11

DM Aron Marczylo |

Utrath's sling unfortunately misses this time and lands harmlessly down the otherside of the warehouse, but just then Rabe, brimming with rage and muscles tensed takes a powerful swing. One so powerful, the magical aura surrounding the captain doesn't even slow his movement and he mortally wounds the captain, cutting deep into his stomach and he falls to the floor, bleeding out.
Finder's spear fails to strike the heavily armoured warrior fighting Ostog.
With the shock of the death of their captain the other men appear to be socked and at this time the tiefling then announces.
"With the captain dead, I am now second in command. Surrender your weapons and release the prisoners!" however his words appear to not have much of an effect, thought some appear to be clearly having second thoughts, now that the captain is on the floor and bleeding out.

DM Aron Marczylo |

You heard him! Put those weapons down or I'll cut every last one of you to pieces! Alcaydian snarls and swings his weapon about menacingly.
Intimidate 1d20+3
At Alcaydian's snarl and vicious look they all drop their weapons and surrender.
out of combat now
1d20 ⇒ 17
the tiefling, a young man, walks over to the group and gives a beaming smile.
"Did the harbor master send you? I've been trying to make the financial books incorrect to send a message, but when the Harbor master came to talk about it, the captain here claimed it was a mistake and broke my arm for punishment." he points to his arm that still seems red when he pulls back the arm of the robe. "I never wanted any part of his plan. Here's the keys to release the prisoners."

Utrath Pallan |

Utrath looks at the shadow woman on the ground unconscious or dead, "A waste of a life, if only I could help her, she seems a friend, she fought well with her magic." After the momentary thought and nod of his head, Utrath points a finger at the archer he just missed, sending a small globule of liquid towards him.
Acid dart (1/6) ranged touch attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 damage 1d6 ⇒ 1

Jaidoh Palumbra |

Jaidoh blinks her eyes as she returns to consciousness.
What happened, did we succeed?
She then looks down at the bloodied slash in her robe.
I need to stay behind you all in the future. That hurt.

Utrath Pallan |

Utrath, I hope you did not realize that the combat was over. Otherwise shooting acid arrows at people might not be considered a good act.
Ooops sorry, I thought they were still fighting, didn't see the 'Out of Combat' line. Must have been a bit tired.

Jaidoh Palumbra |

Once Jaidoh has gotten back to her feet and brushed herself off. At least blood does not show up as much on a black robe. She turns to the tiefling.
Thank you for your assistance. However, we need to get the guards here so that they can question these poor prisoners. I ask that you provide them with whatever food and clothes you can until the authorities arrive.
She then turns and glares at the guards. As for the rest of you scum. If I ever see or hear of any of you protecting slaves or helping in this horrific practice, you will wish that you had met the barbarian's sword. I gesture to Rabe as I say this.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 <-- I guess I look a lot like a bloody apparition at this point.

Utrath Pallan |

A wry smile comes over Utrath's face as he watches Rabe and Alcaydian struggle for a moment, before the big human suddenly stops the struggle and seems worn out, gasping for breath and devoid of energy. "You hit him hard." he states matter of factually to Alcaydian, "you burst his lungs of air." He goes over to Rabe, "You alright, Rabe? Do you have the strength to walk." In all his time in the caves and caverns, he'd not met a man quite like Rabe before, so full of energy and fight, then tired in body and soul, hardly able to fight at all.
He turns to Jaidoh the shadowy one, "I think we leave, we have accomplished what was set out in the contract and Rabe needs some air to freshen himself up." He waits for permission to help Rabe out. "Here Rabe, take my arm, I'll help you along."

Jaidoh Palumbra |

I want to make sure that these poor souls are freed. I hope the city guard will punish those responsible. However, if the authorities here are anything like this in Nidal or Korvosa, I doubt it.
You can still see the ire burning in her eyes as she watches the surrendered guards who were helping someone to sell these people into slavery.

DM Aron Marczylo |

The Tiefling nods to what Jaidoh says and after taking the keys off the captain's body, hands it over to her, though he appears to still have a wounded arm.
"You were unconcious, but as I told your friends. I wanted nothing to do with this and made errors in my book keeping to attract someone's attention." he explains, retelling how his arm was broken in the first place to her.
"He's dishonoured the people I work for, the founders and his own family. You may take his equipment if you believe it'll suit you." as he takes a quick kick to the captain's body he looks back to Jaidoh "There was a contact the captain had. I never saw his face, but the man called himself 'Black Hawk'. If you want to stop anymore attempts to sell slaves to Nidal, you have to look for him. You may not choose to believe me due to my, appearance, but as one who has been touched by creatures from other worlds you should know that just because we look the way we do, doesn't mean we serve those powers."
He smiles to Jaidoh before looking over to those in the cages to the north, who all appear to be in better spirits and now standing up, waiting by the locks of the cages to get released.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Alcaydian will loot the body.
Assuming Jaidoh helps with detect magic you find his greatsword was masterworked, his banded mail was normal banded mail armour, but his cloak is a cloak of resistance +1.

Jaidoh Palumbra |

We cannot leave these people in their cells. However, we must ask our benefactor how he wishes for us to proceed.
I look at the tiefling.
Do you have some funds available with which we could purchase some food for these people. I would prefer if they were here to speak with the authorities.
I look to the rest of the group. Are there two of you who would like to run back and ask our benefactor how he wishes us to proceed? And then return back here with the answer? I want these people freed, but at the same time, I want the authorities to be able to speak with them. Their combined knowledge of how they were captured will be invaluable in securing the capture of those truly responsible.
I cast Detect Magic and tell everyone what was found.

Utrath Pallan |

"I say we go back now and let the city take credit, that's what we contracted to do. Staying around and being here when the authorities get here will be trouble for us and our benefactor." says Utrath a little worried that they are taking matters into their own hands. "We have what we came for, and more. We have a bird to follow, if that's your wish, but now we go!" he says with some insistence. He holds Rabe up, "And our friend here needs rest." He starts towards the door.
