Breath of Fire with GM Deadly Secret - Homebrew - Table 1 (Inactive)

Game Master Deadly secret

Hello,

I started a group through a homebrew/jrpg called Breath of Fire. I spent a lot of time designing it to be playable in play by post format and figured I could open up a second table and enjoy how the groups experience it differently.

Things I would like to know in this recruitment:

- How much experience do you have with Pathfinder rules?
- Are you familiar with PbP formatting and how to?
- Are you familiar with the Breath of Fire series? Have you played it? Which version?
- How many PbP games are you currently active in? Do you GM any?
- Will you be able to check the game at least daily or every other day to post? If not explain and we can work with you.
- What type of characters do you like to play? Personality, Class, Themes!

If you are in any of my games, that's OK you can apply to this too.

If you have any questions about the game, I might answer but I won’t give you build information. That is reserved for Session 0! But if your submission is solely based on a specific build or race, feel free to ask if it’s allowed but we shall not go into details. Please also, don’t submit character sheets or backstories.

Happy Gaming

Dotting, at work so I'll work on this afterwards.

A game based on Breath of fire? Cool, I'm dotting as well.

How much experience do you have with Pathfinder rules?
Significant, it's the main system I have played over the last seven to eight years or so.
Are you familiar with PbP formatting and how to?
Yep, I am in a fair number of games currently and understand the formatting.
Are you familiar with the Breath of Fire series? Have you played it? Which version?
I've played, to my knowledge, all of the series, though I've only finished the first three. My favories were the first and third ones, especially the third one, and my least favorite was Dragon Quarter. I always enjoyed how they connected the first three together in particular and made them part of the same continuing story.
How many PbP games are you currently active in?
Around sixteen or so between Paizo and RPOL, about half of them are fairly rapid posting at any given time (1/day-ish).
Will you be able to check the game at least daily or every other day to post? If not explain and we can work with you.
I can check on a fairly regular basis but posting is usually between once a day and every other day on average.
What type of characters do you like to play? Personality, Class, Themes!
I generally prefer casters, particularly ones that are support/save based as the dice roller generally hates me. Generally they are fairly promiscuous but not always and are most often good aligned. I also tend to put some kind of tragedy in their story, I think it helps drive them more and adds some extra incentive to the character's motivations.

Wow... Breath of Fire. There's a series I haven't heard about in a loooooong time. You know what? Consider me interested.

-How much experience do you have with Pathfinder rules?
Quite a bit. Had close to 3 years now? It's my system of choice. Streamlined enough to feel quick, detailed enough to get nitty gritty if you so choose.

- Are you familiar with PbP formatting and how to?
Currently in a few games so far, so yep! Fairly familiar with the setup! I enjoy the roleplay chances it gives as well!

- Are you familiar with the Breath of Fire series? Have you played it? Which version?
Been a while since I've played it, but yes! Played the first, the second, and the fourth. Never beat them, but that was more due to technical issues than a lack of interest. I recall turning into a dragon at one point, so I think I got fairly far into the game.

- How many PbP games are you currently active in? Do you GM any?
I GM none, but I am currently in about 4 active ones (a tad slow, but such is the format!), and waiting for two to actually start rolling!

- Will you be able to check the game at least daily or every other day to post? If not explain and we can work with you.
I can check in on a pretty daily basis. My only slow down might be the weekend, but that's expected, I think. Most folks have things to do on the weekend, so PbP slows down a bit!

- What type of characters do you like to play? Personality, Class, Themes!
I favor either martial characters with a bit of magic to back them up, or characters with classes doing things that class probably wasn't meant to do... but doing it anyway. I try to build to a concept, not a specific mechanical build if I can help it. Most of them are good aligned (it's so much easier to be the good guy in a lot of cases... being the baddie feels like a lot of work, honestly...). I enjoy non-traditional personalities, most of them usually have an optimistic outlook, or a friendly persona. One theme I do enjoy expounding on is dragons and draconic features... so that might be appropriate for this game!

This one will be more so based on the 1st installment.

How much experience do you have with Pathfinder rules?
I've been playing Pathfinder for about 5 years now, DM and player, so I'm familiar with most rules. Although intrigue and unchanged rules are still a little elusive, but if those are involved I'll buckle down on them! But other than that, I know my stuff pretty well and know where to find the answer to most questions.
Are you familiar with PbP formatting and how to?
Until recently I haven't done PbP. I'm taking some time to read through different games going on, but with the variety of styles I'm not sure the norm. But, I'm excited to learn!
Are you familiar with the Breath of Fire series? Have you played it? Which version?
I haven't ever heard of the series... But it sounds fun. With this too, I'm more than happy to do research on things that will help me role play the characters/world correctly.
How many PbP games are you currently active in? Do you GM any?
I'm currently in 1 PbP campaign.
Will you be able to check the game at least daily or every other day to post? If not explain and we can work with you.
I can check minimum once per day, with a likelihood of being able to check 3-4 times a day.
What type of characters do you like to play? Personality, Class, Themes!
I'm really big into the role play affect of the game! I like good combat, but character development is my favorite thing. I've been known to change alignments, but typically only 1 step. I enjoy playing Good characters that have strong convictions, whether to a deity or themselves. My characters are usually outgoing and friendly, but with one bad trait in there to help me be human. I've grown to love paladins in Pathfinder, mostly because each deity has different tenets so I can play each paladin differently. But, in general I enjoy playing tank/damage. As for themes...I enjoy having a character who isn't broken yet. Someone who has a family, a love interest, a hope in life. Because then the DM had enough fodder to help me drive me character forward if needs be.
I enjoy making characters Large Sized too! I find it's quite fun to be the big guy.

Hello, this recruitment is open again. First person to post with the answers to the questions on post one is in. You will begin as level 1

How much experience do you have with Pathfinder rules?
Lots. It's basically all I've played for the last few years.
Are you familiar with PbP formatting and how to?
Yes, I'm in a number of games.
Are you familiar with the Breath of Fire series? Have you played it? Which version?
I have no familiarity, unfortunately, except for what I've now learned from the Internet. But I am happy to build something that fits the theme.
How many PbP games are you currently active in?
Eleven, about half of which are active on roughly a daily basis.
Will you be able to check the game at least daily or every other day to post? If not explain and we can work with you.
Yes.
What type of characters do you like to play? Personality, Class, Themes!
I generally like characters that can dabble in both combat and magic. I have an easier time playing heroes or antiheroes rather than villains.

Recruitment closed. Welcome to the table Tazo, please read the discussion thread and get started. I will send you a PM.

Hello, once again it is time to bring in another player. If you're interested in this campaign please answer the questions on the first post. I am only taking one, so first come first serve. All others will be considered for back up when the time comes.

- How much experience do you have with Pathfinder rules?
I've been playing for almost a decade now, and GMing for about as long.

- Are you familiar with PbP formatting and how to?
Yes, I've played in a number of games, and I'm in a few right now.

- Are you familiar with the Breath of Fire series? Have you played it? Which version?
Yes, at least the I-IV.

- How many PbP games are you currently active in? Do you GM any?
Four, and one. And so far it has not impacted my posting ability, etc.

- Will you be able to check the game at least daily or every other day to post? If not explain and we can work with you.
Yep. No issue here.

- What type of characters do you like to play? Personality, Class, Themes!
I lean towards more serious personalities, who are team players. I prefer to play studious, knowledgeable characters, even if only within their own job. Classes I've played often include: fighter, bard, ranger, monk, druid, cleric. Themes I like to explore include free will, individualism, societal impact of adventurers actions, redemption.

Thanks for considering.
