Ayaal |

~ Round 1 ~
Ayaal curses and slides up behind the befuddled arcanist - lantern in one hand and blade in the other. She slashes at the snake next to her (S1) and prepares to throw the lantern at the large group of snakes across the way. "Time to go, Hasani."

Ayaal's blade bites into terracotta scales, ripping one of the serpents open. It is hollow, and surprisingly fragile. Pieces of the snake fall to the rolling coils that make up the floor and quickly start getting churned under.
The rest mass of serpents retaliate in a flurry of glittering motion, one even moving to strike beneath the archway at Zayid.

Please roll your confusion D%, and a duration counter at the top of your action post.

Zayid Tumaini |

Realizing that the light may be hampering the others not blessed with her ability to peer through the darkness, she bends down, fluidly gathering up as stone as she chants an incantation to her goddess.
She quickly tosses the now glowing rock over the melee, casting light in their midst to alleaviate the hampering shadows.
Cast light on small rock, toss over frontline to eliminate miss chance.

DM Doomed Hero |

Apademak rushes in, sliding low beneath the archway and gracefully dodging the snapping jaws of the serpent that had just lunged at Zariah. He slashes out at one with his strange clawed gloves, but the snake is too fast and pulls it's head back.
The mass of snakes writhe and churn, some sinking under, and other heads rising, beginning to enclose upon the intruders. The floor rolled beneath them. Glittering fanged heads snapped out from all directions.

Cahal ud'Din |
Cahal steps forward to engage the closest serpent: "Get outta there!!!"

Hasani the Reborn |

I suspect Hasani probably is not flatfooted, but just treating everyone as a foe because he is confused so I doubt the reposition worked sadly.
Hasani falls and is bitten again attempting to rise and strike at the snake that just bite him with his shield again, but again more of a danger to himself than anyone else.

DM Doomed Hero |

Poison saves are made with each dose (each bite in this case). Once a save is failed, the DC for sequential doses goes up as the poison becomes harder for your body to resist.
Yeah, poison can get nasty. :)

DM Doomed Hero |

Cahal's blow shattered the serpent in front of him at the base, causing the rest of it to lock up and immediately lose animation. It fell from the ceiling where it had come from and crashed to the churning ground.
A conjured oil slick formed at Farooq's will, impeding the snakes movement.
Hasani, since you failed your save, you are still Confused. Please give me a Confusion roll to determine if you are able to attack the target you want to, or to determine who your friends are.
Hasani is correct about the Reposition. He isn't currently able to differentiate friend from foe (he'd need an "act's normally" roll result for that), so Ayaal's CMB check was a bit too short.
Farooq, the Grease is only partially effective against the snakes. It does slow them, but they can't exactly "fall prone", on account of being snakes.

Hasani the Reborn |

Confusion states that, "Any confused creature who is attacked automatically attacks its attackers on its next turn, as long as it is still confused when its turn comes." So I don't believe I should need to roll.

DM Doomed Hero |

Hasani- Good catch. Never mind. However, as you noted, rolling may determine if you can tell friend from foe. Even if you are currently attacking the snake that last bit you, you may still regard Ayaal as an anemy unless you get a "normal action" result, so you may want to make the roll anyway, just so you have that chance.
Object Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Object Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
The churning ground had upended poor Hasani as they gave a sudden, but worse, the coils closed down on the lanterns that had been set on the ground. With the sound of twisting metal they shattered, spraying droplets of lamp oil around that were quickly smeared by the rolling coils.
Please make a DC 12 Reflex save or take 1 point of Fire damage
If you take Fire damage, please make an additional DC15 Reflex save to avoid Catching Fire
The dark red areas on the map are now quite on fire and would be dangerous to stand in. The orange areas are where the oil splashed, and, except for the initial splash, are not dangerous to stand in unless you happen to be prone.

Cahal, moving an unaccompanied object that doesn't encumber you (in this case, an unconscious woman) from one square you threaten to another is only a move action. You have a standard left if you'd like.

Mahsati al-Juhayna |

Gritting her teeth against the pain of the knife wound of the other woman, Mahsati ignored the pain of the strike for the time being. The matter would be dealt with. Later. The snakes were the larger threat at the moment.
