I had a very strong interview today for a Dean of Student's position. I should hear something back in the next week or so.
Really great conversation with her. She appreciated my transparency and talking to her about the issues. To her these are non issues but she will be talking to her admin team and letting me know tomorrow in the morning.

I adopted a 10 week flame tipped kitten this afternoon. His name at the Animal Humane was Eggshell but that doesn't fit him.

I got to meet my sister's new dogs the other day too! Their names are Shyla and Red, they're rescues my sister and her partner adopted. Red is actually Shyla's daughter, and they're a bit on the older side (Shyla's 10 years old and Red's about 8, but Red's got more health issues at the moment). They were cautiously receptive of me, but that's only because they're more used to my brother and parents, who've visited them before, so I was still more a stranger.

He is so cute, he still has the little kitten avocado belly and prances around the house happy to be alive.
If you could all keep and say a little prayer for Latte. He went in for his check up and his belly size was a bit troubling for his vet. They did an ultrasound on him and he has fluid in his belly as well as a slight heart murmur.
So this could be caused by a few things. Best case scenario is that he has some type of worm or parasite and he is being treated for that beginning tonight. If not, it could be a congenital condition which might not be treatable.
Oh dear! I wish him a swift and easy recovery!
I'm in recovery mode myself after having had some oral surgery earlier this week (they sliced some of my palate off and grafted it to my lower gums). Limited to soft foods for the immediate future and can't really bite things until the start of October, which for a gourmand like myself is annoying. -_-
He went to the litter box earlier this morning and even though he still has diarrhea there was a white, little oblong-looking thing in his stool. In all of the time I have had cats, I have never seen anything like that. It was separate from the poop.

Little Latte has his appointment today to get a little bit of fluid out of his belly and to see if he has FIP. He cannot eat until after the procedure because they will be putting him under and he is a starving little demanding kitten. Right now he is on his favorite blanket making biscuits.
Please keep this little one and his vets in your prayers.

they took out some of the fluid, a safe level and made sure to give good fluid. The fluid is yellow and sticky. Vet is going to get in touch with the pharmacy in NJ (Strongs?). Little Latte is on a steroid to help the inflamation and we should be beginning the pills when they arrive. The vet said he is not out of the woods but there is hope. He is eating and eating and being sweet.

I am probably safe. My manager, and their manager, have both said that if they were going to be cuts in our group then they would have been asked to do the prep work by now. So that is encouraging, but it's obviously not a guarantee.
