Actually, it looks like Tomlin's turn was skipped and that the enemies went twice before he got to go. I know it might create a semi-complicated retcon, but Tomlin's tumble action (which he would have been able to do before the bald man moved more than 10' away from Tomlin) might critically prevent the bald man was fleeing down the hallway


Will retcon that. I was thinking you chose to take no actions since you got hit by the stinking cloud and had only rolled a save. I agree on your views on stinking cloud, it is a horribly painful spell to be struck by.

When Ian's turn is up again:

After picking up his Bardiche, Ian walks further down the tunnel, but gets stuck on the ice, unable to move.


Despite the slick ground Tomlin slips past both the demon and the man Hezek, catching a brief glimpse of him in the freezing sleet with his pale light cupped in one hand. He is able to block the bald man from moving farther down the narrow passage.

In the darkness Hezek can be heard casting a spell.

Spellcraft DC 21 (16 + 5 circumstance bonus as he cannot be seen):

He has cast mage armor.

His movement leaves Serelina with both dretches clawing and biting at the darkness where she is.
Acrobatics for the first one to move over the ice d20 + mods = 19

The attacks leave the witch in pain.

The noxious fumes dissipate, though both Serelina and Tomlin feel the effects of it lingering.

Party may act. Sleet storm has 5 rounds remaining, and is one of the few spells that cannot be dismissed at will.

@GM: just to be clear, the darkness eclipses Darkvision too?

Tomlin drew upon all his training and reserves to stagger into an upright position as the waves of nausea continued to lash him. Holding a curved sword in one hand and his poisoned dagger in the other, the halfling realized with frustration that he presently did not have the strength to use either. He hoped the darkness would work to his advantage though, as he held his ground. I have him blocked from moving further down the hallway!

Tomlin is focused on making sure the bald man stays right where he is and will free action talk to the party if he feels the man leaving somehow

Nauseated and surrounded on both sides, Serelina takes an anti-toxin out of her haversack and waits for the nausea to pass so that she may imbibe it to settle her stomach.


Ian bumps into something as he moves forward cautiously in the blinding sleet.

That is a dretch, you still have a standard that you can make an attack against it. Don't forget the 50% miss chance.

Ian drops the torch, shifts his polearm grip to 5' reach, and thrusts the point of the Bardiche at the monster, attempting to impale it.

Hmm, my post got eaten it looks like.

Ian connects with his weapon, tearing through demonic flesh and bone, severely injuring the creature.

The other two continue to tear at Serelina with tooth and claw.
Don't remember the rolls, but it was 4 hits, 3 then missed due to concealment, damage 5.

Hezek attempts to get past Tomlin again, but fails. Find his way blocked he growls in frustration and casts another spell.

I'm assuming Tomlin is still nauseated. If so, he will hold his single move action in response to anything Hezek tries to do. If he's no longer nauseated he'll attack, of course.

Still nauseated,Serelina simply cowers.


Claws rake across Ian's armor, but are unable to get past his defense.

Serelina, still trapped, is not so fortunate, and between the two demons attacking her slips into unconsciousness. -2 HP, she will need to start making stabilization checks.

Hezek again tries to push past Tomlin and manages to slip by him, moving westward. Acrobatics d20 + mods = 19. Tomlin does not get Dex to CMD because of the blindness effect of sleet storm.

3 more rounds of sleet storm if I've counted right.

The nausea Tomlin has been feeling passes, leaving him free to fully act again.

Tomlin cursed as Hezek managed to slip passed him in the sleet-created darkness. Shaking off the nausea that had held him back, the halfling again focused his inner energies to race after the man.

Use Ki power for extra movement and move westward down the hallway. Total possible movement is 60'. If possible, I'll use this for a charge action to also attack Hezek with the poisoned dagger if I reach him. Tomlin has darkvision active if that matters.


Darkvision is blocked by the sleet, so with no line of sight you won't be able to charge. The sleet also reduces your movement rate to half.

OK, still will move down the hall westward as far as he can or until running into Hezek. I'd assume that the sleet would slow all equally.

Ian pulls back the Bardiche and slashes twice at the creature in the darkness, trying to finish off the wounded beast quickly.

Ian's attacks prove as ineffective as the demons.

Tomlin feels his way westward and finds the passage opens up wider and soon hits a wall. His feet sink into a foot of water flowing southward. Listening closely he can make out movement to the north and gives chase. You figure Hezek is at AE or AF 12 He can also hear the demons that had been assaulting Serelina moving up the passage to chase him.

Serelina Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 She stabilizes.

Those PC's with no actions to take might want to consider dealing with the fire in the room above. Not sure if there will be anything of value to salvage, but it will at least help us with a way out. Since Valdr has been on autopilot for a bit, and he's in the back, he might be the best choice to handle this.

Tomlin focuses on the sound of footsteps ahead as he looks to catch up with his quarry. Is this area still under the Sleet Storm? With dagger and sword drawn, the halfling also keeps to stealth.

Assuming we're still in the sleet storm area, Tomlin will keep moving northward using Fast Stealth. He's hoping to get a head of Hezek or at least keep up and hopefully move out of the sleet storm at some point and use his darkvision.

@Serelina, hmm, I'll have to run back through. It wouldn't be the first time I double applied an HP loss. If you are still conscious you are no longer sick this round.

@Tomlin, 40' radius on sleet storm, you are still in it at the moment.


Forgot about Tomlin getting to ignore rough terrain. He can move farther north, getting out of the sleet storm.

Ian's second attack hits and he feels the creature drop to the ground.

Valdr pushes from behind forcing everyone forward a step.
Valdr doesn't seem to have any spells or abilities that would help him deal with the fire, though I'm open to suggestions if anyone has them, if you want him to try and recover something from the building before it burns down completely.

Hezek stumbles out of the sleet storm near Tomlin, and upon seeing the halfling there gives a start then moves northward. Hezek's form shifts and changes as though being seen through a misshapen piece of glass.

Tomlin gets an AoO. Hezek has a blur effect so 20% miss chance.

Tomlin rams a dagger into Hezek's thigh as he comes out of the sleet. The man takes a few stumbling steps then collapses to the ground unconscious.
For save d20 + mods = 8

Ian Acrobatics to move in the sleet storm: 1d20 + 2 - 5 ⇒ (10) + 2 - 5 = 7

Ian finds the treacherous footing to slippery to move.

Tavrus you can move past him or take another action.

As Hezek falls, Tomlin quickly grabs his manacles out of his haversack and applies them to his quarry's unconscious form.

As Tomlin shackles the unconscious Hezek one of the dretch's bursts out of the freezing ice and turns to claw at the hafling.

The magical storm comes to an end. Valdr immediately casts a dancing lights spell and sends them speeding around the corner to give light to those in the lead. A single dretch still stands in the passage, a little beyond Serelina.

I've got Hezek unconscious and manacled but need help with one of these demons! Tomlin shouted back down the hallway towards his companions in hopes that someone could assist.

Warily watching the vile creature that now assaulted him, the halfling pulled a rope from his haversack and dropped it on the ground next to Hezek. He wanted to tie up Hezek to further ensure the man did not escape. He hoped assistance was coming soon, so he focused on fending off the creature's attacks until flanking help arrives.

Move action to pull rope from Haversack, free action to drop rope on the ground, standard action for full defense. AC now 23.

Ian slams into the dretch with his bardiche, cutting away flesh and chipping bone. Crippled it turns to the former guardsman and claws at him.

Full Defense again, bc Tomlin has 3+ ranks in Acrobatics he actually gets a +6 to AC with full defense, so AC should be 25. He was still hit last round, but just FYI moving forward.

Ian catches the demon by surprise as he knocks it to the ground. How far are you moving? Just to flank it? or keep going till you catch up with Tomlin?

Tomlin continues to try and fend off the other demon.

If my square-counting math is correct, a double move by Ian would get him to AD12 and importantly in a potentially flanking situation for Tomlin. Tomlin will wait to act until Ian completes his move. Assuming my logic is good so far, after Ian arrives Tomlin will take a 5ft step to AB12, use a Ki Point for an extra attack, and then do a full-attack action on the dretch from a flanking position. I'll roll these below to save time when Tomlin's turn comes up. If for some reason I'm wrong about Ian being able to give Tomlin a flank on the dretch then he'll continue with full defense.
