Bartleby Thimblejig |
So I'm stranded in the front lines regardless of what I said before? I'd like to change my action to withdrawing from combat to the space just behind Ursus, assuming I'm still standing when my Initiative is up.
DM Amazing Red |
The bronze legionnaire with seems almost lightning quick as he moves up to engage Nolin. He raises his ancient longsword and brings it down on the dwarf.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
The weapon connects with the rogue's skull and he slumps over unconscious.
The War-Chief raises his mighty club as he charges Smoggin.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
However his recklessness does not pay off and he misses the gnome who is standing still.
Bartleby calls upon the power of his goddess and there is a bright light. The War Chief dissolves into dust instantly. The Warlord and the Legionnaire attempt to resist the holy energy.
Warlord
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 Failure
Legionnaire
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 Success
The Bronze Legionnaire steels itself versus the holy burst of energy while the Warlord takes it all. They are both still standing however.
The War-Chief only had 2 hp left so he is destroyed even if he makes the save.
Nolin your dwarven rogue is lying on the ground bleeding. His body attempts to stabilize to stop the blood from flowing from his veins onto the musuem floor.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
He continues to bleed. He is at -2 and still dying.
The scarab seer walks up to the fallen Nolin and prepares to eat him.
Double move up to Nolin. Will post new combat map next.

Smoggin Stargazer |
Smoggin, wanting to cast, decides instead to strike at the crreature next to him.
Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
A bit early, but Ursus probably won't interfere with Smoggin's action, if he does, just change them.
Ursus the Breaker |
"Get away from him!", Ursus shouts as he levels his bow and fires another shot. Targeting the Scarab Seer.

But its slash goes wide and misses the Ulfen.
Smoggin bravely steps forward(into O9)to defend his fallen ally. He swings his morningstar at the Seer, but he just barely misses as the it deftly moves out of the way.
The Bronze Legionnaire moves to stand over Nolin's fallen body and swings its sword at Smoggin.

Bartleby Thimblejig |
Seeing a fellow pathfinder in trouble, Bartleby curses the Society's oaths that force him to do stupidly heroic things for members he barely knows, and attempts to heal his companions. "Get up! Get up!" He growls, hoping to rouse Nolin before the Scarab Seer can get it's teeth into him.

The way is not blocked. So you can use CLW. Your dice for the spell is too small. I will roll the D8 for you.
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Bartleby shakes his head and curses the society and steps forward to heal Nolin.Nolin is now at 6 hp.
Nolin wakes up to find a skeletal warrior standing above him and 2 more undead surrounding him. He is able to roll out of the way before they notice that hes awake. Nolin is shunted into O8. What do you want to do now?
DM Amazing Red |
Well since you didn't answer, I will have you make your attack from prone rather than take 2 AOOs.
Nolin swings his hammer from prone on the legionnaire and misses.
The Scarab Seer full attacks the little gnome who has dared to face him.

Ursus is able to dodge the headbutt as well.

Ursus the Breaker |
The Ulfen's body undergoes a startling transformation as the Qadiran blade cuts deep into his flesh. His already bulky musculature swells to even greater proportions. Dark dense fur sprouts from his skin and the features of his face shift and change until he has the head of a mighty bear.
He lashes out with his ursine maw catching his opponent and then bludgeons it mercilessly with his ham-sized fists.

After he is fully healed, Nolin picks up the golden scarab that is among the dust of what used to be a Seer. He examines it and pockets it quickly. Looking around you see another corpse, one that is well preserved and not likely to rise up to attack you. It is of a Mwangi warrior holding a bone-handled kukri with a jade-carved blade. You can also recover the masterwork silver scimitar and the masterwork ivory greatclub held by the undead warriors who threatened your lives. You find nothing else of note in this room except another door besides the one you just entered.
Now what?
Bartleby Thimblejig |
Bartleby moves quickly and professionally to the wounded, first touching Smoggin, calling out for Pharasma to rebuke death, then stands and concentrates to channel energy into all the injured.

Nodding with satisfaction, he glances around the room. "What goes on in this place that would summon the dead back from the grave?" He asks rhetorically, looking for any religious significance that might account for the presence of undead or why they might have been guarding this area.

Smoggin opens his eyes, "huh, that was close." He sighs deeply, trying to catch himself. "This, this, abonimation of an undead, it was just horrible." He shudders, "thanks to all for saving me." He seems really upset by what has happened to him, but glad that his wounds have been taken care of. He hangs his head in shame, "wasn't much of all, of a help, was I?"
Then he will have a good look around trying to see if he can find anything.
Perception, take 20
Ursus the Breaker |
Ursus's head changes shifts form again and his fur melts away returning the bestial Ulfen to his normal level of hirsute.
He watches as the gash along his muscled torso knits under the gnome's healing magics, "Thanks, Smoggon".
"Is everyone alright?"
Go ahead and use that wand as much as you want. It has 40+ charges left. Just let me know how many we've burned at the end.
DM Amazing Red |
The door to this chamber was once a pane of expensive frosted glass, which now lies in broken shards on the floor. Within, several desks lie overturned, papers in disarray, and chairs smashed to kindling. A sturdy steel cabinet sits against the back wall, its doors much battered and dented. The mist here roils near the floor and ceiling, creating a strange patch of visibility stretching from knee-height to a few feet overhead.
The smoky tendrils flow up and down the walls unnaturally and savage visages swirl to life, fanged mouths agape, before dissolving into mist once more.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
However he puts too much force into it and stumbles, hitting only the air.
The other madman continues his assault on the dwarf. After the elbow he follows it up with a boot to Nolin's face.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
He loses his balance and misses the shorter dwarf.
Ursus the Breaker |
Ursus roars a warcry as the madmen descend from the ceiling to attack his allies. His fury boils over but he retains enough clarity to recognize the attackers as simple scribes corrupted by the mist. The big warrior moves forward with the intent to subdue them.
He steps forward to 6AB and grabs the man's shoulder with one arm while kicking his legs out from underneath him.

Not a person of half measures, Bartleby is less merciful to these men. He's also fairly confidant that his powers of healing will ensure that they will survive any damage he causes. And if not... well, fate is fickle.
Extending a hand towards the man flailing at Smoggin, a mist rises from a blue light glowing between his fingers, then the light solidifies into a sharp icicle that shoots forth at the madman.

DM Amazing Red |
Nothing has changed tactically so I will not be putting up a new map.
Nolin brings his hammer down on the struggling mad man, but he strikes the floor instead. Bartleby fires a shard of ice that hits the ceiling and breaks harmlessly. Smoggin swings his mace in an effort to keep the former scribe at bay but to no avail.
The mist tainted scribe held by Ursus struggles against the man-bear and tries to elbow his way free.
This with the prone and grappled penalties

The other mad man will strike back at brave little Smoggin and delivers a right hook.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
The punch connects with the gnome's cheek for 2 damage.
