Here's the out of character discussion thread. Please use this exclusively for out of character questions and chatter.
You guys can talk over whether any of you would know each other here. You've all been sent to Gesh to meet at the Vigneto venture villa.
Some of you may have worked together previously, or have other associations. Gesh is geographically east of the province of Allacosta itself, they border. I'm adding a basic world map to the campaign info tab. It's mostly empty for now though :/

I didn't make it, which is why it looks amazing :P I found it on the Cartographer's Guild. It was someone's work in progress, I just clipped out part of it, and added the red for the Empire and the other stuff for Gesh, etc.

Lady Onyx Bonomo sat in the sun on here balcony looking down at the compound. Men marched as men do and the odd soul rode in. It was hot and this time of year one was best to sit and drink, wile taking in the day.
She moved her mind to the area around her, feeling others enter and leave it.

We won't really get started until after Christmas, just because I think people will be too busy. In the meantime, everyone can talk and work on backgrounds.
Octavian, your character looks fine. The background sounds good. The province east of Gesh can be mostly Yarab and Turkoi ethnically, with barbaric Turkoi peoples to the north and east of the Empire's borders.

Yes, each ethnic group has a language. Turkoi would be fine.
For what it's worth, Kyriso is Turkoi (I'm assuming)- perhaps we can work that in somehow.

Kyriso could be Turkoi, or any of the other ethnicities that appeal to you. Malaii, Runakuna, Nawas, Samoi, Norddervolk, Imazighen, Haoussa, and Ge'ez are all groups found on the fringes of the Empire, or farther away, that could potentially live near dinosaurs.
That night she had a meeting with a Church Representative, but as yet nothing had come up that warranted her being assigned, Onyx was happy with that, her step-mother wanted her to go to the Colontax wedding party. 2 hours of dressing and a litter later, she meet her step-mother at the villa.
"Onyx what have you got on, you know this season is yellows and golds" Her step-mother Benedicta, was always always like this.
"Silver will be fine, you know I look ill in yellow, Mother dear, and papa always likes us to look well."
Clarissa her youngest sister, chipped in, sitting by the bed.
"But Onyx, in yellow you will look like a little bumble-bee"
Onyx sent a half eaten grape her way for that comment about her darker looks, her sister was lucky and had metallic gold as her core coloring, in this fitting this years style well. She was shorter than Onyx and 8 years young, she said sister, in true half sister.
"Yes and you will look like a cold bar, in that dress, lets see of I can find a fat old banker to polish you."
Onyx know her mother was looking for a husband for little golden Clarissa.
The look that came back could have turned milk.
"O come along you to, there is fashionably late and there is rude"
More litter riding and they where at the villa, Onyx's step mother leaned in close.
"Now I know dear that, your not meant to use you gifts outside of work"
"Are here it comes, there had to be a way, I was asked to this, always the same with this family"
"but your father has small problem, a trader we use, Hlanxus, we think hes cheating us and as of now we have a lot of money in his deals, The how we do not know but we can not start to look until we know one way or the other, could you be a dear and, well... talk to him."
She know what she should say, but family was family and if indeed daddy dear had asked for this, it means he was worried, what had he got himself into this time.
She got out the litter and heading into the viller,
"Time to find out"

Yep just posting snip its of Onyx life to get into character and let you know what shes like, we may or may not know each other the game starts, but I always try and make RPG playing like reading a book, just my style of play is all guys.

It was raining, it had been raining for three days and she was cold wet and tiered. Her Green and blue Scrub psicyrical was looking out of the window, perched in the ledge so it could see the comings and goings in the street below.
"Let me guess nothing strange yet"
She asked it, In reply its odd Crystal voice sounded in the back of her head, its mind part of hers, yet its voice was oddly male.
"Nothing Mistress, just three men talking of the old days and the Inn keep looking after the bread delivery."
Nothing, nothing always nothing, for 4 weeks nothing, and now it was getting to late spring and the rains has started, 4 weeks of hiding in the same room over looking the same street, the seem Inn and why, because some one reported the place to the Church has having very good beer. Beer that was the best for miles around, Beer that was outselling all the other inns and that could not be right, it could not be that fact the Inn MADE good beer, no it had to be magic. What a joke, any thing that was to good, to well made, had to be magic. This had not been the 1st time she had been sent looking for Mages under the bed. She had been in the place, drank the beer and talked to the locals, she had even snooped around the back where they make the beer, Nothing, just a family that had made ale for generations and skill, about as magical as a well trained dog that barks sums. She sat back on the cot, two more weeks and her relief would come, let them try and find this blasted ale magic.
"Any thing"
"Nothing Mistress, the street is now empty"
She closed her eyes, 2 more weeks and she could go home.
Sorry for the name change, all, but considering ethnicity and all, this just fit better than the "traditional" half-elf names.

Stops eating can places down her wine glass and Picenian (Sweet Bread) with olives. She had lost all appetite for her prandium (Lunch), when she specks she dos so with utmost politeness, looking at her wine she says. Knowing what she knows about Koralgesh she says.
"I do so hope, our fellows here, Mater Flinn does not mind if I say a few things, 1st in regard to the I clammier of comments, questions and demands that will come. Please my fellows bear with me just a moment. It is not often one is asked to a meal when one is informed one must fall on one’s sword. I do so hope this not some kind of joke Mater Flinn of so, it has fallen on wasteland for I myself do not see the funny part of it one bit. You see every child educated in the Church and Bard in the inn, knows of Koralgesh and the many sea captains that has sort its riches by going into its mists. To date none have come back, all lost to the treacherous waters of Mazda's wrath that surround Koralgesh."
She looks up Onyx carries on.
"Now you sit there quit calmly and say we few here, ship-less and without coin to buy the foolhardiness of others, have been ordered by some 'higher ups' to join the ranks of the lost. I find that part of this most worrying Master Flinn. I ask with great respect that you tell me some names of such 'higher ups'. I may know some, I am not without connections, as well you know. I think one or two senators would like to know that such exportation was being organised in such a clandestine way, one involving a member of a ranking family, that is to say me. You see I do so hope you have some documentation signed and sealed with such reverent authority to warrant a suicide mission with my name included. Because If not, then I thank you for the meal and I shall be on my way."
She Smiles and lets that hang for a moment, before carrying on.
"That is unless you know more than you are letting on Master Flann. Just saying the local blacksmith has made claims about his family and 'may' know how to get to Koralgesh. My dear Master Flann, you will have to do better than that, You would not risk me and the others here, who seem more 'handpicked' than 'what was at hand' on just hear-say."
She looks around the table all smiles and light then back at Flann.
"So let us have no more of this act of yours, the gleeful, friendly go-between, who's offering such a rich apple ripe for the picking. Come now really Master Flann let us have the truth, what has really come to light that makes you think that any group undertaking this task stands any chance of ever being seen again?"
She looks at Flinn a smile still on her face but holding his gaze.
Use Power - empathy she is not hiding the fact she is using a power now, her steel eyes glow green.
"One more thing my dear master Flann, I shall know if you are hiding anything from us."

Can you guys find people to play Pathfinder out there or is a lot lost in translation?
I've played with other ex-pats, but the population of english speakers is too small to contain a lot of gamers. So finding a dedicated group is hard.
I think playing with Chinese people in english would be too difficult. Very few of them have the fluency required and those that do probably have never heard of table-top roleplaying games. They might have a Chinese language RPG, but if so I've never seen one.

Also I know we don't normally run into mounted combat but your attack even though it missed would be
1d20+3-4 due to firing from horse back just for future reference
This isn't true:
You can use ranged weapons while your mount is taking a double move, but at a –4 penalty on the attack roll. You can use ranged weapons while your mount is running (quadruple speed) at a –8 penalty. In either case, you make the attack roll when your mount has completed half its movement. You can make a full attack with a ranged weapon while your mount is moving. Likewise, you can take move actions normally.
-> Unless you let your mount do a double move, you have no modifiers on your attack roll.
