I am confused about the current setting.

I'll provide a map in the morning, okay?

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

1d20 ⇒ 18 -- Goblins' initiative.

NPC: M

What, are we under attack? What should we do?

Dexterity check: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18

as soon as i can do anything, i will Dodge, until i figure out what I can do to help

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

Okay, lets see. Sir Tristan is first,

  • Sir Tristan
  • Nazkab
  • Arrigallio
  • the Goblins
  • Amos
  • Mordecai.

The goblins are on top of the cliffs of dover. There are two places from which the party can go up, from your left and your right. The right side is guarded by the goblins, the left side is not so much. If you have a grappling hook, you can try to climb your way to the top. If you can. The top is usually covered with grass and has nothing for a hook to hold on to, in order to support your weight.

  • Male Human War Cleric 2

I'll go up the right side towards the goblins, if I can without a grappling hook.

He bangs his mace against his shield, challenging the goblins to attack him. "Heathens! Strike me if you dare, unless you fear the True God."

    HP:[22/22] / AC: 15 / SPD 30 / INIT +2 / darkvision /PassPerc 14

    Goblins.

    Battle.

The boat ride had seemed impossibly long. The day seemed to grow impossibly long. His patience with the Elves and their finicky ways grew thin. But, there were Goblins. And that promised battle.

Nazskab, shield at the ready, sword drawn, deftly maneuvers past everyone to the front, heading up the path to the right.

    Double move

    Human Wizard 2 / AC 16/ HP 12/ Perception +2 / +2 Proficiency Bonus

Mordechai heads for the left side of the cliff, keeping his eye on the "foolish goyim" climbing to battle on the other side. Once he has reached the summit, he will see how the battle has progressed.

    Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

    "you're loony!"

    "We have the high ground!"

"Yeah, we have advantage in fight!"

    Male Human Black Blooded Metal Oracle 3 HP: 22 | AC:18 T: 13 FF: 15 | Fort: +2 | Ref: +4 | Will: +3 | Perception: +0 Initiative: +3

Amos is coming up behind Mordechai up the left side, Following about 30 feet behind him.

    Here we go.

I shall tell the story of all your glorious deaths if we all do not make it. Until then, lets keep me alive.

    Male Human Barbarian 2

    How could you forget me?

    NPC: M

Sir Tristan! Wait, don't rush into their ranks alone! I shout rushing to keep up with Tristan.

I move normally, and if I am close enough I will "Help" (hoping to grant Tristan Advantage this round). If I cannot help this round I will Dodge until next round and try to get closer to Tristan

    Male Human War Cleric 2

Sir Tristan continues his ascent, shield and mace held at the ready.

(Not sure how many turns it will take to reach them or until they attack.)

    Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

Shall we go with a simple number of 3?

3 turns to get up there.

1 game turn to get up there and attack, just three turns on the path.

    Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

A couple of goblins throw rocks at Nazkhab and at Sir Tristan. They have advantage.

    1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

    1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

    Damage 1d4 ⇒ 2 = Nazkhab, 1d4 ⇒ 3 = Sir Tristan.

    HP:[22/22] / AC: 15 / SPD 30 / INIT +2 / darkvision /PassPerc 14

    Second Round
"HAHA that's the spirit you foul little whelps!" Nazskab shouts as he tops the cliff and falls upon the goblins. The half-Orc looms comically over the goblins and in a flash of sunlight off his blade a goblin turns to red mist.

    longsword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
    damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

    Male Human Barbarian 2

    Climb Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 131d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Brian will finish his climb and scream something in his native language at the goblins.

    Irish Gaelic:

"You stand before a true knight of the lord!"

    Male Human War Cleric 2

As a Heavy Armor Master, I'm almost certain the rocks pelt off my armor with barely a *ding*

Tristan advances with mace in hand, swinging it with full force at the goblins when he can reach them.

    Attack with Mace
    1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
    1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

    Male Human Black Blooded Metal Oracle 3 HP: 22 | AC:18 T: 13 FF: 15 | Fort: +2 | Ref: +4 | Will: +3 | Perception: +0 Initiative: +3

Can I see the goblins from where I am, coming up the left side? If so I would like to shoot firebolts at them as I am coming up the path. Also I am not sure if they have advantage on me since I am on the left path so i will let you figure that part out.

    Round 1

    Firebolt Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

    damage: 1d10 ⇒ 4

    Round 2

    Firebolt Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

    damage: 1d10 ⇒ 10

    Round3

    Firebolt Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

    damage: 1d10 ⇒ 6

    Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

    okay.

    1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 -- Nazkhab has defeated the first goblin!

    Brian has defeated another.

    Sir Tristan missed.

    Amos missed.

    -- Goblins --

    "Call for reinforcements!"

"how can we, we are not on the other side."

    "dang it. Attack, no surrender!"

    They attack Nazkhab. 1d20 ⇒ 14

    Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

    Damage -- > 1d6 ⇒ 1

    HP:[22/22] / AC: 15 / SPD 30 / INIT +2 / darkvision /PassPerc 14

Nazskab wheels around, "Yes! You ugly specks! Call for more!

    TONK

A moment of silence falls over the cliff. Nazskab lowers his left arm to get a better view at the front of his shield. He swears he heard something bounce off of it but now he's unsure.

    RAAAAAAAAAERRRGGHHH

    attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
    damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 to survey the battlefield, how many more, reinforcements incoming, distances, search the bodies if the battle is over for emblems, useful items and coin

    Male Human War Cleric 2

Tristan brandishes his weapon fiercely before his next attack.

"Surrender and submit to the Authority of Christ!"

He then raises his mace towards heaven, and after a swift prayer it glows with heavenly energy. Casting Divine Favor

    Human Wizard 2 / AC 16/ HP 12/ Perception +2 / +2 Proficiency Bonus

Mordechai continues to watch the christians battle the goblins. He is again shocked at the public use of magic the one fellow uses. He shakes his head and prays for the fellow in hopes he will not be spotted and tried as a heretic or witch, elf or not. This is England, after all!

    Male Human Barbarian 2

Laughing like a madman, Brian will pick up and headbutt one of the goblins and then watch as he stumbles about.

    Attack Roll with advantage: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 91d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

    Damage Roll: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

    NPC: M

If I am attacked, I will defend, otherwise, I try to stay out of the battle, now that I see the brutality of the warriors, it sort of sickens me

    Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

The goblins were soundly defeated, but there seems to be no cavalry coming to their rescue. No lines of other goblins. The elf queen enters your presence. She is beautiful, with sweet ivory skin and hair a lighter shade of blonde. "Thank you, warriors, for defending me from these goblins."

(you all receive 300 XP -- both from braving the sea and defeating the goblins.)

    Male Human Black Blooded Metal Oracle 3 HP: 22 | AC:18 T: 13 FF: 15 | Fort: +2 | Ref: +4 | Will: +3 | Perception: +0 Initiative: +3

Well hello my lady. How beautiful you are. Would you like to hear of the crusades? I have many grand stories that you may like to hear of.

    Male Human Barbarian 2

"Come, your highness, we'd best be about getting back to the ship."

    Male Human War Cleric 2

"Of course. These heathens deserved their just punishment. Defeating them served Christ as much (if not more) than defending you."

I've forgotten where we were heading after the Cliffs of Dover. Was our ultimate destination ever mentioned?

    Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

Nottingham, by way of London, of course. :)

    HP:[22/22] / AC: 15 / SPD 30 / INIT +2 / darkvision /PassPerc 14

"Let's be off. The town of Nottingham won't be coming to us." says Nazskab. He was very pleased with how effective the amassed warriors were in the face of a minor threat. Maybe the trip to town would offer more challenges.

    NPC: M

Nottingham? why that's got to be ninety five leagues? Across the weld, on foot? This is madness. Perhaps we should signal another ship and try to sail to London first?

    HP:[22/22] / AC: 15 / SPD 30 / INIT +2 / darkvision /PassPerc 14

"What was our purpose of landing to begin with then? Is there a village nearby that we can acquire supplies from? How much longer would it take to sail around versus walk through? This land is not mine own but I'll brave its treachery nonetheless."

    NPC: M

Walking around on the grassy hill above the beach, Artegallio looks north by northwest and begins to try and figure things out

Well London, if I remember, is to the northwest. We should be able to follow the River Dour inland for a while, and if we keep going in that direction we should find Canterbury. I’ve never been in this part of the country myself. I don’t know how safe the road is from here to there, but from Canterbury to London we should be safe, and have a good road.

I believe that the distance to Nottingham from Dover is approximately 210 miles, and Artegallio is not as smart as he thinks he is. His estimate is a bit long, closer to 280 miles assuming a league is three miles

    Male Human Black Blooded Metal Oracle 3 HP: 22 | AC:18 T: 13 FF: 15 | Fort: +2 | Ref: +4 | Will: +3 | Perception: +0 Initiative: +3

Well I suppose we had better get going then. It does seem strange that we didn't sail to London. Never the less, this should make for some interesting tavern tales.

    Human Wizard 2 / AC 16/ HP 12/ Perception +2 / +2 Proficiency Bonus

Mordechai listens to all the kvetching being done by the others. He simply sighs and, finding a suitable stout walking stick, heads inland towards where he believes a village may be located.

"One step at a time my friends. We will get there one step at a time. God will provide."

    NPC: M

    I follow Mordechai

Excuse me sir, I say politelyI don't believe we've met. My name is Artegallio, and I am from the west, from Wales. Would you mind if we walked together?

    Male Human Barbarian 2

"quite a nice day for a bit of a walk. So tell us, your hi'hness, how did you come to be stranded out here all alone?"

    NPC: M

    Saying over my shoulder

I believe she was below decks, where I was, the whole time. I hear you others had quite the row on deck during the storm

    Male Human Barbarian 2

"Yes, the sea tried to take me, but she couldn't contain me!"

    Human Wizard 2 / AC 16/ HP 12/ Perception +2 / +2 Proficiency Bonus

Mordechai smiles at the half-breed and nods his assent.

"Shalom. A nice day it is. I am Mordechai, a Rabbi just returning from a personal pilgrimage to the Holy Land. It is a pleasure making your acquaintance."

    Male Human War Cleric 2

Tristan scowls at the Jew but says nothing to him. Instead he turns to the rest of the group.

"I would suggest making camp and drying out our supplies and armor. But if we are heading back onto a ship, I doubt it would help anything."

    NPC: M

kneeling down to put my hand on the grass, I say
Making a camp here might not be wise. We may have caught the Goblins on a patrol, but the chances are there could be more close by. I have no skill for tracking,

I stand, and wipe my hands togetherThe grass is damp, it might rain again this evening. We should look for a cave, or a hovel, some simple farm house perhaps and dry our things as Sir Tristan says. It will be a long walk tomorrow if we hope to reach Canterbury in one day.

    Male Human Barbarian 2

"Friend Artegallio, you seem to know the land here quite well. Do you know the way to Cantebury from here?"

    NPC: M

WellI answer the large man Not really. I only know that from Dover, if that is where we really are, and those white cliffs seem to tell me that it is Dover, Canterbury is north by northwest of here, perhaps six or seven leagues. My lady kept maps, they weren't especially accurate or detailed maps, but they showed the towns and villages of this country, and of our home, Wales.

    Male Human Black Blooded Metal Oracle 3 HP: 22 | AC:18 T: 13 FF: 15 | Fort: +2 | Ref: +4 | Will: +3 | Perception: +0 Initiative: +3

I don't know about you all, but I could go for a pint. Lets find an Inn with beds, ale, and a good fire.

    Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

Clouds run by, if by running means slowly moving across the sky you can't notice it, and they are pretty big clouds. Just not low enough to cause rain or to block the sun's rays.

    1d20 ⇒ 2

    Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

Which nothing happens while you start your way to Canterbury. however, you did meet up with a priest . . .
