Yep, unless you have a reach, or ranged weapon. Next turn, Akkads gonna GTFO, so he'll probably be out of the way. Or the forth dog will go in. I'm not really clear where the dog is with out a map. I assume it went out of the tent. Alternatively, we're all full up with pups.
It still has you grappled I think, so I think Gene can attack from one square.
I was mistaken actually. Akkad was being bitten, I just assumed he was grappled.

Incidentally, what does Akkad look like? Would his ears be prominent? Could Alata tell if he's Half-Elf easily?

The rest of the section I'm not particularly happy with though. I feel like I didn't use the right words if that makes sense. Physically I would say it'd be easy to tell he's got some elf in him when his hood goes down. Otherwise, have you spoken to him yet? I know it got de-canoned, but I was pretty proud of the line "You may bask in it" in regard to his own presence.
Edit: While we're asking; does anybody else have any somewhat important characteristics of their PC's that might crop up?

Nothing has come up so far to contradict any of that. I was just asking about Akkad because she would have much to think about if she knew about the existence of half-elves. Because of his skin, she thinks he's human right now.
Also I think we can continue on if no one objects.
Alata wants to go to the castle first. This is mission and we cannot deviate anymore from it.

Technically, Targan and Yoshi have not formally said their names to anyone. Targan would be known to the NPCs but not the party. I hate just saying "Dwarf" or "Elf" because that would be incredibly rude in real life. So please say your names out loud so our characters know who you are, lol.
If anyone is sick of the "calling people by their full names" shtick (don't blame you), just let Alata know what you want to be called. That's why she only calls Yoshi by that name.
Are you kidding? Alata is Akkad's favorite person right now. Calling him by his full name and title, and swearing fealty to him? Those happen to be some of his favorite things.
It's going fine, Targan is still grumpy because he suddenly lost all his friends and got lumped in with a bunch of weirdos.

Alata, on the other hand, knows she's weird outside the Forest.
Small point of order, Alata did not pledge fealty. She is not a minion or a robot. She is a bodyguard.

And I know Akkad is joking. I just hate the idea of people misunderstanding me.
Well, nominally, the request is on the grounds that some of them are cool and I want them. The other reason is that limiting Akkad to summoning Elementals for thematic reasons (the dogs were a rare occurrence I slipped up with) drastically limits the options I have with him. Not a huge obstacle, but there are only a few good options for elementals to summon (fire and magma ones are terrible, lightning and water ones are very situational, etc...) and it would be boring just summoning rocks and hot air a lot.

I just realized that I've been typing Overhand Cheap... instead of Overhand Chop.
So I've been using a sort of headcanon that Alata can know basic things about the outside world due to the Spirits giving her a rough education before they sent her out. This is why she can speak common and why she recognized Sarenrae (whom she sees as just a very powerful spirit).
So the question here is: would she know who Shizuru is? She's fairly obscure outside Tian-Xia but she is a divine being. Alata's belief system holds that spirits are in everything and are a spark of the divine. The Gods are basically a raging inferno to the wood spirits' tiny candle.
I'm willing to work with everyone but it will inform how she reacts to Yoshi's magic.
Shizeru would not be known to Alata, but she would understand that she would know that there are more than she knows. She could also ask if this shizeru would be allied to Sarenrea and Yoshi would answer she is different, but close to Iomedea.
Akkad wouldn't know, but his Knowledge monkey probably would.
Yeah I guess I'll go with the idea that the Spirits taught her about the more immediate area so she only vaguely understands that Shizuru is a goddess but knows no details.
Alata doesn't know what a trap looks but can she still Aid Another for Targan?
I think it'd be reasonable to assume that more than bear traps and that log contraption the Ewoks came up with are identifiable to Alata.
But RAW, no, disabling a trap doesn't allow Aid Another. Up to the GM though.
What if we opened all the doors at the same time?
It probably wouldn't hurt. Unless ones trapped, then it would hurt a lot. Now, if we tried entering beyond the doors simultaneously, that would be a bad time.
So, what is actually our group vote?

I guess I didn't read the description well enough then.
Suggestions on what to do?
A couple I would try:
1. Aid another for a bonus to attack to one of the people in range.
2. Pull out a ranged weapon and eat that penalty to-hit. You can't actually hurt an ally by missing, and it's better than nothing. Granted, by one step, but still better. (Side note: No name for Gene's bow?)
3. Invest in a reach weapon and the Phalanx Formation feat. My reach bloodrager loves it.
So posting this in all my games, im going to be unable to post for 3 to 4 days. Apologies, hopefully i can fix my issue asap.
