My computer has finally died. I am limited to ipad use until I can get it fixed. My posting may be a bit slower than usual.

DM Jelani |

I am hella busy. I'm in finals at school right now, and with the two jobs and RL social obligations on top of that I just don't have as much time as I used to. I'm also traveling internationally next week. Not sure if I'll have more time to post during the trip or no time to post, we'll see. In either case I will get this updated tomorrow if I finish my final paper at a reasonable hour.

Argor Constantine |

Agreed

Argor Constantine |

You all know Argor's vote. Unless there is a time constraint I overlooked,,,

Argor Constantine |

Stretch at work. Will update as able.

Argor Constantine |

I'll be lurking for several hours starting in about 2 hours.

Argor Constantine |

LET THE LURK BEGIN!

Argor Constantine |

Lurking while I update.

CladissaVelorryan |

Can't lurk while I'm at work, but Argor, you should really send your summons to harass the drider. I'm going to try to sleep the vrock now that I've tagged it with Misfortune. It doesn't have very good will saves.

Argor Constantine |

I was typing that before you posted. Lol! But no, the red one missed.
I suppose though, that since your post fell first, it happens first, so the elemental would not have bothered to try to hit it as Argor would have commanded them all to go to the Drider. Editing my post, though it will really not have any major effect...

Argor Constantine |

Lurking

Argor Constantine |

...and lurking...

DM Jelani |

Due to concerns about creeping power level, I am strongly considering making a change to the way evolutions work. I am thinking we will start to use the Eidolons Unchained table instead.
Now the amount of evo points are dramatically lower, but I won't require you to remove abilities. Instead, your evolution will simply stall until we catch up to where we are now on the unchained table (level 10). You can still rearrange your points with each level up between now and then.
Would anyone be very upset if I did this? If so, why?

Nyugusk Newblossom |

No concerns here---more interested in keeping the game interesting than in being more superduper than we currently are.

Argor Constantine |

Whatever you want boss. Argor's main aspiration on the table was Flight. So, I'd be bummed if I lost that, but I'd manage.

DM Jelani |

Well, you can always rearrange points as I said. That way if an evolution becomes available at a higher level that you really want, you can swap out some of what you already have and get it. Or if you want to focus more and more on flight, slap more points into that. I just don't want this to go the way of so many of my games in the past, where the PCs have become too powerful, too fast and it has ruined the game. Those always end up failing, and I'm committed to finishing this campaign.

CladissaVelorryan |

I don't love it, but I understand it. I've also got pretty much the main evolutions I have been wanting (including flight, which I'm holding off on applying since I'm having too much fun being insanely jealous). I'd be more miffed if I was still planning on progressing to a lamia/sphinx body. It was still a possibility, but a very unlikely one that's really not an option with this change.
The only thing I might ask is that you not count the tail as an evolution that costs a whole point, and make it a cosmetic feature, since I think the tail evolution is mainly a prerequisite for an additional natural attack which I don't expect to ever get. Maybe count the tail as half a point, since a +2 to balance checks is worth about half a feat.
Maybe the other half point could be claws, since they're just about worthless to me in combat (at most they save me from holding a dagger so I can make AoOs), but they fit in with the theme of my mutations so far.
Any feelings on that?

Argor Constantine |

Lurkin for a bit if anyone is awake.

Argor Constantine |

I was tinkering with the rules to craft a staff, when I was suddenly struck with an epiphany:
All this time I've been pricing it as if I were crafting it, when in reality the final cost will be double that since someone else would be making it for me...
As such...a staff is well out of my price range...
Craft Staff rules are dumb...
Anyway, I guess I'll have to scheme on something else for Argor to purchase with his new found funds.

Argor Constantine |

Given my lack of reasonable magic item purchase capacity (which I'll likely never have...but not complaining), I am going to continue to expand on Argor's financial enterprises.
Behold! The Golden Raven, a high class restaurant and social gathering place for the fine people of Absalom's more prestigious districts to mingle for a fine meal, fine company, comfortable lodging, and one of a kind beverages brewed on site from exotic fruits and herbs grown from its own greenhouse!
The sign is an image of a golden raven viewed from the front, its wings outstretched as if preparing to land or as if it were hovering above the door. The building's name is written on scrollwork within the raven's talons.

Bar: The bar is obsidian with gold accents, polished smooth. The seats at the bar are all very comfortable with green velvet cushions. The bar is stocked with only the finest brands, as well as special, high quality wines and ales brewed on-site with the rare herbs and fruits grown in the greenhouse.
Common Room: Adjoining the Bar area, the floors are all fine marble, and the tables all share the same obsidian and gold coloration of the bar top, as well as the green velvet chairs. Fine tapestries and works of art hang from the walls, and each table is lit by an ornamental oil candle.
Courtyard: The outdoor dining and sitting area includes a variety of shaped topiary, a fountain, and a scattering of torches glowing in blue magical flame. Marble pathways lead from the main building to this area and all throughout.
Lodging: For those wealthy travelers looking for fine, high quality rooms for their stay in Absalom, The Golden Raven offers five rooms with King size beds, with satin sheets and elegant furnishings upstairs.
Using the Master of Trade to offset the previously stated 10% price increase for purchasing property in Absalom, results in the building being priced as normal.
If this is all cool with you, Jelani, I'll go ahead and post it in my profile, and we will assume it doesn't open up until the next downtime session, eh?

CladissaVelorryan |

Thron, I wasn't planning on having Cladissa return to the house until very late. She would probably not be too eager for a discussion on finances, either. Don't know if you think Argor would continue with the meeting without Cladissa. FYI.

Argor Constantine |

He probably would.

Nyugusk Newblossom |

Lurking too now.
_____
BTW, Argor, you know I don't know the downtime rules well. Can you tell us mechanically what our choices are?
In other words, if we decide to buy the house, are you saying it costs 100GP/month (split between us residents)? And are there any mechanical advantages of owning it?
And if we decide *not* to buy it...what rent do we owe the society?

Argor Constantine |

Lurkin on iPad. If u message me and I don't respond ASAP just give me time.

Argor Constantine |

Lurking while I handle some things online.
