How about Theologian Cleric? Is that ok?

If so I'd like to submit Iza M'Halen, Oni-spawn Tiefling Cleric of Yamatsumi and close friend of Koya Mvashti. If Theologian isn't ok I'll rework her to standard Cleric.
It's the same char I submitted for the other tread.

As for your question:
** spoiler omitted **

A few things:

1. In order to take Oni-Spawn(Which is fine) you need to take the Fiendish Heritage feat at Lv1.

2. I can't seem to find the deity Yamatsumi where is it from?

3. Theologian is fine

Yamatsumi is from the Dragon Empires Gazetteer. There is some info on the PF wiki (here) but I find it rather lacking as it only contains the mechanical info, not anything about who he is.

As for the feat, that's fine. I'm not used to it as most only use the feat for the variant ability list and not for the variants based on heritage, bringing them on equal footing with Aasimars, Dhampirs and Skinwalkers, all of which also don't need a feat to get a racial variant.

I made a mistake it was errataed that you do not need to take the feat to get a racial variant.

Didn't actually know that. It does make my character's life easier though.

I would like to submit Ixian Axolotl for your consideration.

1. Yes, I'm currently in seven active pathfinder PbP games.
2. US Eastern (-5)

Submitting Mi'isha Kam, Tiefling Inquisitor of Erastil. I've made a few tweaks from the last recruitment thread, especially in polishing up the background.

If Preacher is an acceptable archetype, I'll use that, otherwise straight inquisitor is fine (No difference between them until 3rd level).

Let me know how it looks, or if I've missed anything.

Background:

Appearance
Inspiration for appearance
White Elk (Animal Companion at 4th)

Mi'isha appears as a young human woman in her late twenties with pale skin, red eyes, and hair somewhere between blonde and auburn in color. Besides her red eyes, her extra-planar heritage manifests in a pair of curved horns crowning her head and a long whip-like tail protruding from her back-side. Her young appearance belies her true age, which is now over one hundred years.

When visiting towns, she prefers to wear a long, hooded cloak to avoid unecessarily drawing attention to her heritage. She's been luckier than most tieflings with regards to her dealings with others, and she's earned no small measure of respect in the surrounding areas when she took up her father's mantle. Nevertheless, she's aware that there are those out there who would not hesitate to judge her based on her heritage.

Along with her cloak, she usually travels prepared for dealing with wild animals or fugitives, and wears leather armor and carries a longbow for hunting either.

Personality

Mi'isha generally presents a stoic and distant persona to those she deals with from day to day. Due to this, most of the people who deal with her consider to be unemotional and detached. The truth, however, is that her stoicism is a facade she's developed over the years as she's watched her friends age and pass away one by one. She views her relative immortality as a curse, and often spends time remeniscing about friends and loved ones from days long ago.

Background Story Synopsis

Mi'isha knows nothing of her parents. She was found abandoned in the woods as an infant by a priest of Erastil, Seris, who happened to be travelling through at the time. Despite showing obvious signs of her infernal heritage, he took pity on the poor child and adopted her. Her earliest memories were of time spent in his cabin when he was around. Her childhood was a simple but happy one. Seris lived out a ways from Sandpoint and only had visitors when there were problems there or in one of the nearby villages or farms. Despite the occasional visitor's odd glance at Mi'isha's horns and tail, she was mostly ignored, likely due to the respect the people of the area had for Seris.

As she became older, she was given freedom to wander the woods during the day by her foster father. In her wanderings she encountered many of the children of Sandpoint who came out from time to time to play or avoid their parents. While some of the children taunted or harassed her, she was able to make several friends, including Niska Mvashti, a young girl about Mi'isha's age. The two became fast friends and were seemingly inseperable.

When she came of age, Mi'isha was given the opportunity to follow her father around in his travels. Seris was a Warden, a follower of Old Deadeye who acts as a guardian for the surrounding communities and farms. The wardens duties included tracking down those who break the laws of the various communities they watch over, ensuring that the wild animals of the region were kept in check, and acting as mediators in disputes between villagers or farmers. While Seris made sure not to bring Mi'isha along when there might be danger, she still managed to accompany him on quite a few journies, during which she learned much about life in the towns and the wilderness around Sandpoint.

As the years passed by, Mi'isha slowly took over her father's duties bit by bit, finally taking the mantle completely when he was too old to travel himself. When she wasn't travelling, she would visit Niska, who was like a sister to her. When Niska was married, Mi'isha was present front-and-center at the ceremony, which caused something of a stir in Sandpoint. Similarly, when Niska gave birth to her daughter Koya, she named Mi'isha her godparent, an honor which she happily accepted. As the two girls aged, it became clear that Mi'isha was no longer aging as a human would. The passing of her foster father, and the growing age disparity between Mi'isha and Niska stressed her greatly, and she in turn lost herself in her duties as a warden, expanding the area she watched over significantly. While she still made an effort to visit from time to time, watching her friend continue to grow older saddened Mi'isha greatly.

Several months ago, while stopping in a town near Sandpoint, she recieved word that Niska's health was declining and that she might not have much time left. Rushing back to Sandpoint, Mi'isha made arrangements for another warden to take over her duties, and she began visiting with Niska regularly to make up for lost time. During these visits Niska asked her to stay in Sandpoint for the next year, and to watch over Koya should anything happen in that time.

In the months after Niska's passing, Mi'isha has spent time getting to know Koya, the two trading memories of a woman they cared for greatly.

Heard and understood.

That's why I ask questions though. No better way to reach a common understanding.

Sorry, Answers to Questions:
1) Yes I've played PbP before, though they never seem to get very far...
2) Time Zone is GMT (or BST, when it gets back to Summer).
3) At least once, I can usually check in during the day for short posts, but have limited access to rules etc from work.
4) The one you're having for dinner?

Here is The Nine's submission Rrruh (Rue) Catfolk ninja fisherman and wandering caravan guard.

here are my answers again,

Spoiler:

1.yes i am currently involved in 3 PBP's at the moment.
2. Central time zone in the US although I work the graveyard shift so i tend to be sleeping from about 9 am to 3pm.
3.3 to 4 times a day, or, 700 times from midnight to 5 am (boring job what can i say)
4.A herring... what else would you use to cut things down with

Rrruh, i like the way you think fish :)

Excellent! Thanks again for doing this, M.O.

I've not readjusted the equipment purchase, but here's Parsifal as a 20 point build. (He's an orphan from a campaign that died pretty quickly due to a GM falling off the planet [and taking a number of games with him..])

Answers to Questions:

1. Have you played PbP(Play by post) before?

Indeed I have.

In addition to a bunch of games that ended due to the withdrawal of the GM, I'm I'm currently involved in a half-dozen campaigns (none of which are Jade Regent) -- some are just starting, some I've joined in as a replacement player, and three that I've been in for years now.

2. What is your Time Zone

Eastern (GMT -5)

3. How often do you think you will be able to post per day?

Well, during the week, I can guarantee 1 post a day -- and often, I can do more, assuming there are things to react to and, of course, how much downtime I have -- I do most of my posting between 9am and 4pm as a result of having the sort of job where I often need to take a bit of time to reboot my brain, and I find participating in RPGs is a good way to do that.

On weekends, I can definitely post once, also. If you're aboslutely looking for a 100% guarantee of posting at least once *every* Saturday and Sunday, I can't promise that.

And, on occasion, I'll take a vacation with the family, but I'll always give a few weeks notice, as well as posting a "Ok, this is my last post 'til I get back" sort of thing.

4. I'm thinking of a fish, which one?

It's a red herring!

Expressing interest as a Halfling oracle of life. The alias has some tweaking to do as it was for another campaign that I did not make. I will alter it later.

Will get the answers to questions and background up for you later as well.

hehe thanks,

I present Relios Sura, still incomplete but I am working on him. ;)

Answers:

1. Yes for a good deal of time now.

2. Eastern Time in the U.S. with lots of sun or rain. Sometimes I pray for shade but I don't expect it.

3. At least once a day, normally a few times a day, and currently a lot per day. Don't hold me to the last bit sense it may change.

4. Carp, if forced into a narrower field then the most well known type of carp which is the goldfish. Yes I looked it up on wiki.

I make my characters based on an image in my head or a personality that strikes my fancy, but sometimes I feel I need to float the crunch before I submit the concept. Please let me know if either of these concepts is so far out of line that they will receive no consideration whatsoever:

1) A young Ameiko's little sister, recently come from Tian Jya, who channels the might of their ancestral demons. The character is a synthesist summoner and I aim to make it look as much like the included image, thus skipping the more broken evolutions. I plan on taking claws, bite, improved natural armor, grab, large, improved damage (claws). Still, some GMs hate synthesist summoners so badly that they are automatically tossed out.

2) Ameiko's little half-sister, the tsundere one with demon blood. She's nice most of the time but she's rather jealous of her sister's popularity and has a wicked temper. She's a barbarian focused on knocking things down and stomping on them.

Please let me know if either passes mustard. I've caught up on most of my studying and looking to add a game if I find a DM that likes my ideas.

Thanks for reading.

Garridan Teskarova... Varisian sorcerer at your service. I just need to wrap up gear and rework his background a little to follow with traits choices and adventure path.

I'm still tossing around the idea if I'm going to delve into the Harrower PrC... haven't fully decided yet.

Answers:

1. Yes, been playing PbP since 2006 and tabletop since 1998.
2. Central Time (USA)
3. At least once per day, sometimes more.
4. I'm going to say... clown fish.

And yes, theNine... your fish answer has been the best by far!

After much digging I figured out what the deal with Shalelu's family is. So I present my Treesinger druid, who is incidentally Shalelu's younger brother.

Backstory:
Variel wandered into the settlement bleary eyed, with his face concealed by a mass of long unkempt hair. The humans stared at him as they saw the young elf covered in a mass of old hides stained green from the woodland plants. It was just as she described it. The spirits led him there. He knew that she would be there. With ‘The Circle’ gone and no decent game for weeks, he trudged into the town where humans lived. Letting the spirits guide his steps, he narrows his focus to the one elven woman in the crowd. Large bow, hair tied back, she hadn’t changed a bit. “Hello sister, it appears you are doing well. It has been a while.” Variel said as her head whipped around to face him.

Variel is 10 years younger than Shalelu(appearing about 2 years younger than her) in the village of Crying Leaf, a place he never really cared for. When he was a baby, his father was slain by a bugbear assassin. He was too young to remember his father. He did remember his stepfather, who was a human, but also disappeared too at some point. Variel was old enough to remember this and since then, Variel had become rather detached from the outside world. His sister attempted to bring him to Sandpoint with her after the death of their mother, but rather than stick with his sister, he retreated into the woods. Variel went back to live with the elves in the Mierani forest, where his sister would often visit to check up. As he was growing up, it was apparent that he was…different from other people. His head was constantly in the clouds. He often muttered things to himself and even claimed privately to hear voices in his head. Variel never felt quite right around other elves. Even the ones in tune with nature as his sister found him a little odd. He came to have a great love of plant life, and made a little private section for himself in the woods. In Variel’s little ‘garden’ all the plants bloomed in the comparison to the other plants around them. The others said he was blessed with the power to bring life to the forests. One day, he was sitting by a great oak, and he noticed that it appeared one of the saplings had arms and legs and was walking around. He befriended the tree creature. Naming him “Favorite Tree” (although he claims the name sounds much better in elven). This sapling treant became Variel’s only true friend. He met few others. He lacked the attention span for serious study or the patience to become a sentry, but this treant which followed him around attracted the attention of a circle of druids. They taught him of their methods of combat and the tenants of the Green Faith. They told him that the voices in his head were actually the spirits trying to guide him. The Circle came to be closer family than his own family. Despite this, he felt the same wanderlust his sister felt and often asked his sister about the adventuring life. Variel struggled with the decision to leave or not, but one night, the decision was made for him. The Circle disappeared. He feared the worst, and headed towards the human town his sister kept mentioning: Sandpoint. By that point he hadn't seen her in years. Variel wandered into the town unwashed, unkempt with a confused look in his bloodshot eyes. Variel gathered that his older sister was making the journey to some far off human land. With his druid circle gone, he lacked direction, but knew he wanted to see the world and this distant land in the east piqued his curiosity. The two siblings agreed that it would be better if they traveled together rather than Variel going off alone.

Personality:
Variel is a young elf with his head in the clouds and a limited understanding of the civilized world, be it elven or human. He’s often in his own little world inside his head. Variel often mutters to himself, claiming to be communing with the spirits. He often disappears for days on end, only to wonder into some settlement looking dazed and trying to trade whatever goods he can scrounge together for food. He instinctively feels more comfortable with plants than other people or even animals. Variel speaks to plants in elven, saying it helps them grow. The young elf likes to go with his instincts, saying that the spirits guide him, leading him to come off flighty and impulsive, but despite this, he attempts to follow local laws to the letter, whether they are man’s laws or the Green Faith tenants. When he deals with people he is always curious and speaks bluntly.

Relationship with Shalelu:

Variel hasn’t seen his sister in quite some time. Although they are not that apart in years for elves, Shalelu has always felt a certain obligation to protect her younger brother, and has attempted to keep him from following in her footsteps. The fact that he didn’t seem quite right in the head from a young age only made it seem more important to her that she take care of him. They were very close at first, because Variel was somewhat of an outcast, but as he got older; it seemed that he spent more and more time away from her and civilization in general. He began to consider the Circle his real family, but with their absence, he’s decided to stick with the only family he’s got left. Blood is thicker than water after all.

Animal Companion:

‘Favorite Tree’: This sapling treant is perhaps Variel’s only friend from a young age. The treant is extremely loyal, and willing to fight to protect those who need protecting. Sometimes it makes clicking noises that Variel claims to understand. It’s about 4 ft high with a smooth tan bark, masses of crooked twirling branches for arms and legs and its leaves change seasonally. The creature is always willing to use the momentum from the movement of others and the winds when it fights and moves.

Hey here's my submission Turan that walks the Steppe a Shoanti tribesman on a mission to redeem himself. He uses the invulnerable Rager Archetype if that's acceptable. While I'd like to use the urban Barbarian Archetype I can't really make that work thematically so I'll go with the fast movement.
Besides kicking ass in melee Turan is really good at outdoorsy stuff and can thus function as a caravan guard.

Background:

Turan Walks the Steppe was born into a secluded Shoanti tribe on the eastern edges of Varisia. The young man grew to be one of the mightiest warriors in his tribe but was known for his uncontrolled temper and lust for battle even among his tribe. On his 16th nameday the young man wished to take his chosen woman as bride but was turned back. He did not accept this and beat the girl badly. Having brought up bad blood among the tribe the Chieftain and the Shaman decided that Turan's punishment should be to walk the Steppe for 10 years to atone for his sin and not return before that day.
And so the young man set off and walked the Steppe. On his travels he encountered Sandru. The two despite so different upbringings could relate well and Sandru recruited the mighty Shoanti warrior as a caravan guard citing that he would be doing as he had been asked by the clans elders.

Personality:

Turan was raised among the Shoanti in a small tribe in the eastern corners of Varisia. While walking the Steppe on his own for a few years has taught him much about the world his upbringing has formed much of his outlook on the world and his personal values. He believes in freedom, values strength, courage and honesty. Differing from most Shoanti who are often rash and impulsive he has learned to fully control his emotions and to channel his anger into more controlled expression. He is a man of honor; however slights to his honor are a delicate manner. He used to answer them with aggression now he ignores them but does not forget them.
Turan is a sociable man and has learned to get along with people all over Avistan. However he is no friend of big words or speeches and he believes that one should speak his mind clearly instead of babbling about endlessly. Friendship to him has to be earned, those who earn his have a loyal companion who at any time would put his life on the line to save theirs.

Grand Lodge

Grantix checking in. He was in the last recruitment but didn't get a spot.

His background and outlook are fairly well developed in the alias. The quick summary is that Grantix sees himself as a herald of Gorum and looks to spread battle across the world. He looks for personal challenges as well as companions with martial prowess. He does not deal well with retreating or other signs of what he perceives as cowardice. This should give lots of rp and growth opportunities.

Answers:

1. Have you played PbP(Play by post) before? = I'm in two PbP's as a player and one as a GM.
2. What is your Time Zone? EST
3. How often do you think you will be able to post per day? My goal is twice a day (morning/evening) during the week and once over the weekend.
4. I'm thinking of a fish, which one? Sea Bass, particularly ill tempered sea bass.

How long will recruitment be going on? I don't recall seeing that earlier in the thread.

Grand Lodge

28th he said but reserves the right to end early.

Liberty's Edge

It will very likely be before then.

There are some great characters here and I am looking closely at all of them.

While both are interesting concepts, the first is probably a no go. I think it would cause some trouble in the story.

If he is Shoanti, the default assumption would be that he is human, although I did play a RotRL game with a dwarf adopted into a Shoanti Quah.

And with that the tension rises.

Going to go ahead and resubmit Apex. She was in the last recruitment but was not picked. She retains the Samsaran race, but that can change if it isn't allowed in this recruitment.

Archetype is fine.

What race are you?

If he is Shoanti, the default assumption would be that he is human, although I did play a RotRL game with a dwarf adopted into a Shoanti Quah.

I saw dark vision on the sheet so it peaked my interest.

Going to go ahead and resubmit Apex. She was in the last recruitment but was not picked. She retains the Samsaran race, but that can change if it isn't allowed in this recruitment. She was originally a sylph, so if those are allowed I would like to change her back. Thank you for your consideration!

Samsaran is an uncommon race so no.

Sylph is a featured race so yes.

Updated Sybil's story a bit (the main difference being that she lived in Sandpoint for a while). I consider her pretty much finished. Any opinions or questions?

There are some pretty good entries here.

Awesomesauce. I'll do the conversion back when I get off work. I answered your questions in an edit on my first post, as well. Thanks for the reply!

Alright Guys here's what's going to happen I have 25 Characters to look over so far.

I'm going to stop accepting new characters now, anyone who has already posted in the thread can still finish up their characters, if you need to change things that's fine.

I will pick the party no later than Wed, so get your characters in before then.

Oops copy paste mistake. Yeah Human through and through without Darkvision. I'll fix that should I be selected...

I actually still have a profile for an earlier version of the character but I'd have to change the image on that (old version walked all the way to Tian Xia and returned a barbarian/monk but he was higher level and in his late 30ties) and my internet here is soo slow that I can't change avatars in less than an hour...maybe I can do it tomorow at work.

Well, it's a countdown then.

25 characters! Now that's what I call a fine catch. Good luck everyone, hopefully I'll see you in the game.

Oh dear, now the waiting begins. May the spirits show favor to the path I have taken!

Wow, got in there just in time! I'll adjust the race and backstory tonight when I get off. Good luck to all!

Indeed good luck to all my possible fine friends

Good luck to all, from the entries I have seen it will be interesting. ;)

I would love to see the story unfold and can´t wait to read it.
Good luck to everybody!

Quite exciting. Good luck to everyone!

Meninite, was the Preacher archetype for Inquisitor ok? I didn't see a reply one way or the other.

Good luck everyone! :)

Profile and background updated to reflect Sylph race. Please let me know if anything else needs to be corrected.

Backstory:
Apex was born into a minor noble family in Andoran, the kind that would spend more money than they had to impress people who didn't care. From the moment of her birth they used her otherworldly traits to try to impress people, and make themselves seem more high class. The fact that she had the brightest blue eyes, and matching hair, did wonders for their popularity. It was discovered when she was but a toddler that she had the talent for the Arcane Arts, and so to increase their perceived station, her parents sent her to the Arcane College the very day she was of age. It meant nothing to them that she didn't want to go, that was far too shy to prosper in such a place, or even that she couldn't care less for her own talents. She just wanted to be a normal girl.

Despite her social awkwardness, and her affinity for staying outside of groups of people, she did quite well for herself. She spent her free time watching the people around her, for she had a curious streak about human nature, and what made people do the things they did. There were more than a few teachers who were willing to look past her solidarity and nurture her growing power, for they could see the potential within. Her progress assessments usually read "perfect" for her studies and knowledge and "needs much, much improvement" on her social skills and people interaction.

On her coming of age day, her parents withdrew her from her classes so she could meet the man they had chosen for her to marry: an old, fat nobleman with a station slightly above their own. At first sight of her, he leered and grinned.

She hated him. She hated her parents. She hated the College. After meeting the man, and having been told by her parents that she had no choice but to marry him, she was returned to the College to await her graduation day, and her marriage soon after.

A week later, the man came to the College, displaying perfect manners, proclaiming his love for his future wife, and claiming he needed to see her to find out what could make her wedding perfect for her, but his intentions were far more sinister. He got her alone in a room and tried to force himself on her. In a moment of blind panic, she unleashed her full power, and utterly destroyed the fool.

Knowing that she had no choice, she quickly returned to her room, gathered her meager belongings, and left. She made her way out of Andoran, using her skills in magic to find small jobs here and there, usually just enough to get to the next town or village. She ran into bounty hunters more than once, sent by her own parents, to bring her back to face her "crime". They wished to make it known they wanted nothing to do with her murdering the nobleman, as it would bring scandal to their house. The knowledge that they would rather see her executed to save face than help their own daughter had a strange effect on her.

She realized: She was free. Free to be her own person. Free to her own choices, her own fate. Never before had she felt like anything but a prisoner in her own skin, and now she had the whole world at her feet. She gave herself the surname Stormshard, because she made a vow to herself to always be free, like a piece of a raging storm, a person that no one could ever again control.

She began to enjoy her travels. Every time she was found, she would evade her hunters, never harming them. She began to enjoy taverns, and inns, watching the people in them. She began to enjoy her small jobs, sleeping under the stars, and using her talents for her own purposes.

Now, she roams, finding herself.

Apex stands at 5'4", with a petite frame. Her skin is pale, and both her hair and her eyes are a bright, clear blue. She is quite beautiful, but wears modest robes, and carries only a meager pack and a staff. She is quiet when in strange places, or near a large amount of people, which some people take as her being overly wary, when in fact she is just shy, and takes a long time to open up to people.

Got a great concept. Realised I dont have a lot of time. I'll watch from the side lines.

Luck to you all.

Okay, Faelyn here, Garridan Teskarova is finally completed! The backstory may be a little long, apologies, but hopefully nothing too crazy for you, Meninite! Everything can be found under his profile. Let me know if something doesn't fit or needs to be changed!

Also, good luck everyone!

Bummer, and I had a really good character too.

Oh well good luck to you all!
