While your ship, The Luis Wu is loaded with the serum and supplies, you decide to spend some time playing some virtual games.
Your VR characters all have 6s across the board in characteristics. Each character has Blade and Gun combat (0). Each is armed with a revolver and a small blade. Each is wearing Jack (1) armor.
You will each enter the 'game grid' through one of the entrances numbered 1-6. Once on the game grid you cannot leave the game grid until all the other players are 'deceased'.
A-H are ceiling to floor columns. Note that there is a 2 meter wall, climbable, between the outer perimeter wall and columns C and G.
Each square is thirty meters to a side.
So choose a door (first come first serve). That door number will also identify your 'character' for the duration of the game.
For the first 'two' rounds of the game the grid will be in total darkness, except for faint light stripes on the columns. Shooting some
silhouetted against such a light source is -2.
This will be a good 'boot camp' of the rules for those of us who haven't played before, or played in a long time. It'll also buy me some time to get more prep work done.

Your VR characters also have Melee 1.
Each time a VR character gets eliminated; the remaining active players get to increase their one of their skills by 1 (Gun, Blade, or Melee).
After everyone has chosen a door, we'll roll for initiative: with players taking turn in 'reverse' initiative order (lower rolls first).

So in the case of large cargoes, standard practice is to moor the vessel directly against the loading dock. Sections of the ship are removed by laser welding, and the cargoes moved by gantry directly into the hold. When the cargo has been loaded/offloaded; the excised hull sections are welded back in place.

A Reminder: I am going on vacation starting Sunday until the next Sunday (the 27th). I most likely will not have the ability to check in during this time, much less post. Please GMPC me during this time, as required.

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends! Bountiful harvest to the rest of you! And of course, Happy Hanukkah if it applies.

Engarno Data File
Enganro is a largely oceanic world dominated by one, giant land-mass. The coasts are mangrove swamps and jungles, the interior is an arid desert, save for a rift valley, where the polar ice-cap feeds the only river of importance. There are only two settlements of significant size on the planet: Pukady Town, where the Pukady River empties into the the ocean, and Beryl, in the Engarno Rift: with two million and 650,000 people respectively. Altogether the total population of the planet is just a little under ten million people. Most of the population is spread thinly through the Engarno Rift valley, or small coastal settlements.
The main industries on Engarno are aqua-culture, as its oceans are fished to provide food for nearby, heavily industrialized systems; plantations in the Engarno Rift where genetically modified 'pharma-trees' produce medicinal saps, and mining, for various heavy metals: vanadium, chromium, and various rare-earths, as well beryl and emerald gemstones, the latter of which are particularly prized.
Engarno was settled in two waves: the first wave, occurred some three hundred years ago. These original settlers were from the Schaler Trivirum; a trinity of heavily populated nearby systems. Many of these original settlers were exiles, driven to Engarno by the ruling regime, the autocratic Gessing Dynasts.
The second wave, occuring primarily in the last fifty years, was also from the Schaler Trivirum, but of a decidedly different political and social outlook. These were entrepreneurs, many subsidized by the Gessings.
The first settlers are mainly concentrated on the coasts, and Pukady Town. The new immigrants are mainly found in the Rift Valleys.
Five years ago the Schaler Trivirum erupted in Civil War. The rule of the Gessings was challenged by the Vrolekists; led by the charismatic Jos Vrolek, who has ties among the original settlers of Engarno.
Beryl declared for the Dynasts. A Vrolekist force, lead by the demagogue, Saida Paal, marched up the Engarno Rift. Long simmering class and cultural differences were given brutal expression as Paal's “Rightness Army” burned and pillaged its way to Beryl. Any hope of a peaceful end to the conflict died. Beryl fell to the Vrolekists.
The Dynasts continued to resist Paal, from bolt-holes in more remotes parts of the Rift Valley, and from among the mining camps in the Fever Mountains. More importantly, they use the mineral wealth they have access to hire mercenaries, and purchase military equipment.

I am making a preemptive apology to everyone with whom I am involved in games. My posting for the next month or so will be sporadic. For games I am playing, I will try to check in once a day. For games I am running, there may be gaps of a few days between moves. I ask that folks not give up on me.
This is convention season for me. I am scheduled to attend four conventions in the next month, one as staff. This means a LOT of prep time (as I am running at least three games at each convention, all of which I need to actually write).
Anyway, this is just a heads-up to let you know what is happening. If you must drop me, I understand. I would prefer that if I get behind, you just have my character do what seems logical. Thanks.

Here's a slightly more detailed schematic of the cargo hold, should you decide to let bold action carry the day.
So the cargo pallets containing the serum are 1-4. A-H are simply arbitrary zones to track movement and position. The long oval in the center is the area of illumination provided by the central row of lights. Targets outside of this are -1 (unless using some kind of light-vision gear).
The circle between G. and H. is an overhead hatch to the unused passenger staterooms. There is of course a stationary ladder.

Two days to go before we put on CoastCon. This is the big one for me (as I am the Game Room Director). I will try to check in on games I am involved with tomorrow and Thursday, but may not be able to do so. I will not be on at all Friday through Sunday. I should be able to resume normal posting on Monday. Please bot me as necessary.
If you are in one of the games I am running, I ask that you remain patient and we will resume on Monday with a more regular schedule. And, of course, if you are in the Mississippi area, feel free to stop by CoastCon in Biloxi this weekend. We are a sci-fi/fantasy convention in our 37th year and our Gaming Guest of Honor is none other than Mike Brock (our Media Guest of Honor is John de Lancie)!

It was an awesome con! This was my wife's first year as Con Director, and for the most part, everything went smoothly. Everyone I've spoken to seemed to enjoy it.
Mike Brock (yes, THAT Mike Brock) was our Gaming Guest of Honor and spent every free moment at the Pathfinder tables, playing with the gamers. He was nothing short of fantastic! Terrific guy, as well. He had some great stories about GenCon and PaizoCon.
My wife, Gods bless her, put her money where her mouth is. Our charity is the Pink Hearts Fund, a group that provides wigs, breast prostheses, and other medical supplies to those recovering or suffering from various diseases, free of charge.
My lovely and kind wife stepped up and put her hair into our charity auction, taking bids to allow it to be cut. In the end, she raised $500 for the charity AND then donated the cut hair to make a child's wig!
Since FB wants to be stupid, I have provided a few photos:
