He/she/it seems to be petrified or frozen like that.
The rest of the room smells bad, and it seems to serve as some way of storage...
Although that wouldn't explain the smell, like a toilet.

Rickmeister |

Meanwhile, outside, you notice the three dwarves that where standing topside when the avalance started, getting ready to walk into the "inn".
Poor guys, waiting for the little halfling.

Terry Listantabulous |

Terry cautiously moves into the room, hugging the wall furthest away from the giant's face. He casts Detect Magic, as quietly as possible, and studies the room he's in to learn all he can; including making a Spellcraft roll, to understand the magic he's seeing.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

Anja Grava |

Sorry. I should've moved Anja. I thought we were all in the G4 area, waiting for Terry to return or call for help. I didn't think we'd be able to see the front.
Anja looks at Shan-yu and shrugs. "Unless you can get all three before they get to the door or call for help, we need to stay here in case Terry needs us. Burning the place to the ground sounds more fun now, though, don't it?" she says with a wink.
After a thoughtful pause, "Think you're quiet enough to follow him in? Figure if he saw anything dangerous, he'd have backed out by now."
I don't mind waiting while Terry scouts. As an occasional rogue, I hate it when impatient players interrupt the ONE FREAKING THING that my character can do well. Effin' fighters...

Rickmeister |

Please remember that magic is not quiet. You need to speak at a 'grown up' level :)
The three dwarfs walk into the inn, where they are greeted by the bartender.

Terry Listantabulous |

Terry sneaks closer to the head, trying to get a look at its body below. Stealth: 1d20 + 14 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 14 + 10 = 35 He feels the spell of invisibility beginning to wear off.

![]() |

I am reasonably skilled in silent movement and remaining unseen. The issue comes with the fact the more people we have moving about, the higher chance of one of us being discovered. responds Shan-yu.
I'm also fine with letting the inviso-ling do his thing.

Rickmeister |

Terry Listantabulous |

Terry feels his invisibility wear off. He stands before the giant's face, visible. Looking down at himself, he smiles.
This should be interesting...let's see if I can wake this big boy up.
Terry puts two fingers between his lips and lets loose a sharp, loud whistle, loud enough to wake the dead - or any sleeping giants.

Rickmeister |

But you do hear some commotion from the public area of the inn.

Terry Listantabulous |

Does the commotion sound like they are coming toward me? If so, I'd like to crouch down low on the giant's head to hide myself.

Rickmeister |

Insight: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

![]() |

Do you want us outside folks to intervene? It's been nothing but discussion between the two of you since we last said we're OK with waiting. Based on Terry's non-spoilered remarks, it seems there is a commotion. Do we hear it, does it sound like our little theif has been found?

Terry Listantabulous |

I'm kind of hunkered down on top of the giant's head, hoping whomever it is that is coming doesn't see me.

Rickmeister |

No, just checking that you are still with us :)
Haven't heard Valeeran in a while :(

Terry Listantabulous |

Terry will creep to the hallway and open the door as quietly as possible, seeking to get a glimpse at the giant walking by.

Rickmeister |

Terry Listantabulous |

Good, nobody's noticed me. Anything else in this room besides big giant face?

Rickmeister |

Anja Grava |

As they continue to wait for Terry, Anja instinctively reaches for her hip flask before she remembers it's empty. She shakes it demonstrably. "Crap. I should have told him to refill it if he finds the barkeep's stocks."

Terry Listantabulous |

Alright, enough creeping around. I'm tired of this bar and I'm tired of these sons of b*#%#es blocking us. It's time to light some fires.
Terry casts Gozreh's Trident, and after a moment a bolt of lightning springs forth from his palm and rests lightly like a spear.
He moves over the crates, rubbish, etc. and begins moving the electricity of the spear over them, igniting them wherever he can. Once the fire's lit, he'll boogie to a safe place and wait out the fire!

Rickmeister |

Normally I would only allow CRB and APG spells Terry.
But I'll let you set the things on fire, no problem.
Smokes begins rise, and it doesnt take long for it to grow dense.
Even outside, the rest sees it.

Rickmeister |

Pokes Terry!
With the smoke coming out, it doesn't take long for half the inn to come outside and look for buckets, waterskins, etc to aid those inside in fighting the fire.
The front door is open, and the barkeep seems occupied enough.

Terry Listantabulous |

Terry tries to sneak out and rejoin his friends during the chaos and confusion of the firefighting efforts.

Rickmeister |

You all succeed in finding eachother.
Map updated. Perception rolls please.

Terry Listantabulous |

Terry is too busy admiring the fire to pay attention to his surroundings. If something were to happen, it'd catch him off guard.

Rickmeister |

Again with the two jobs in one. I post whenever I can lads, don't be afraid to poke me :)
You find yourself leaning against a wall, when you hear the sounds of cogs and wheels turning behind it. It doesn't take long for the four of you to figure out how to turn the door.
When you walk throug, you notice a mammoth-szed chamber that houses man-sized gears, pendulums, and screws amid puffs of steam. The noise rattles through the room, occasionally shaking free bits of the stone walls.
Cerebro anyone? That should give you a good idea.
You notice a man floating around in there, going left and right and up and down, trying to literally kickstart gears before pulling on levers.

Anja Grava |

"First thing's first, see if y'all can sense where the token is."
Anja starts looking around herself, for either the token or the ant baby. Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28

Rickmeister |

Rickmeister |

C'mon lads, you need to keep me awake aswell. Is the interest waning? Do you feel you want to stop with the story? You can tell me, I don't mind. Don't want to throw myself under this cart if you guys don't want to continue with it :)

Anja Grava |

It was a holiday weekend here. Most of us probably didn't work on Monday.
Is Shan-yu still with us? This guy might deserve a few blunt arrows to the back of his head.

DM Rickmeister |

Oh, didn't know that. So you're stil interested, yes?

Terry Listantabulous |

I'm definitely still interested. Like Anja said, it was a holiday weekend - I wasn't near a computer since Friday afternoon basically.
