Elias will nod at the arrangement and wait for his companion to move forward, readying his weapon to defend himself in the event of more undesirable elements.

I was thinking Entangle and CLW just in case, but since we're going into a cave I was going to replace Entangle with Snowball

Male Dwarf Cleric of Desna 1

Fror is clearly getting impatient to get moving
"Right lets get going, left or right? I am thinking right as it is closer to the entrance. No point in leaving potential problems between us and the exit. Any objections?"

Female human conjurer 4 | HP 33/33 | AC 17/17/13 (21/17/17 w/ mage armor), CMD:12 | Fort: +4, Ref:+6, Will: +8 | Perc: +7 , Init:+10 | (Shift (10 ft) 7/7) | Hero Points: 3 | Status: mage armor (4 hrs)

"Sound reasoning, Fror. Let's try the right door first."

With Dart Leading the way, he checks the door for traps and finds nothing that would cause a need for alarm. He opens the heavy wooden door and you walk in.

In the center of this room is a large pool of clear water, fed by a fountain on the wall above it. The fountain has a stone statue of a weeping maiden holding the slain body of Kassen, but his head has been broken off and is nowhere to be seen. A voice booms out from the darkness, saying, “Magic is the key.” The voice slowly fades, leaving a dreadful silence.

Current map

Male Dwarf Cleric of Desna 1

"Well if magic is the key, lets try a spell."

Not really thinking about the source of the voice, Fror takes it at its word and calls on Desna's blessing to cast a small mending spell on the statue of Kessen.

Female human conjurer 4 | HP 33/33 | AC 17/17/13 (21/17/17 w/ mage armor), CMD:12 | Fort: +4, Ref:+6, Will: +8 | Perc: +7 , Init:+10 | (Shift (10 ft) 7/7) | Hero Points: 3 | Status: mage armor (4 hrs)

Suspecting some form of illusiory magic at work, Maidie studies the chamber intently, almost reflexivly casting a cantrip to aid her efforts.

Cast detect magic and sweep the room.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Fror, your mending spell doesn't have any affect on the statue as the head is completely missing. Maidie, you sense something glowing at the bottom of the pool.

Male Unrogue HP:19 |AC: 17 | CMD:17 | Fort: +2 | Ref:+7| Will: +3 | Init:+6| perception +10

hmmmm.

perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

Dart walks around the room looking for anything that may stand out. As well as a stone head, or anything shiny.

Didn't work? obvious answer down. Maybe it means a specific type, or, form, of magic?

Female human conjurer 4 | HP 33/33 | AC 17/17/13 (21/17/17 w/ mage armor), CMD:12 | Fort: +4, Ref:+6, Will: +8 | Perc: +7 , Init:+10 | (Shift (10 ft) 7/7) | Hero Points: 3 | Status: mage armor (4 hrs)

Maidie steps closer to the pool, pointing to where she is sensing the magic is coming from.

"There is something in the pool that radiates magic. Hold on, let me try and discern more about it before we disturb the water."

Maintain concentration for another two rounds.

Dart, you don't find anything else in the room other than the pool.

Maidie, you detect faint divination and moderate universal auras coming from the bottom of the pool. It also seems to be very deep

Half-Elf Druid/1 - hp 9/10 l AC:16 Flat:14 Touch:12 l Fort: 3, Ref: 2, Will: 5 l Per: +9 l Init: +4

Elias stands at the edge of the pool, his arms crossed as he stares at it.

Hmmm... Should we attempt to retrieve it? It may be deep, but one of us may be able to swim to the bottom to retrieve it. Or... I have heard of mages able to retrieve things from a distance with magic he will say and look over to Maidie, Are you able to do this?

Female human conjurer 4 | HP 33/33 | AC 17/17/13 (21/17/17 w/ mage armor), CMD:12 | Fort: +4, Ref:+6, Will: +8 | Perc: +7 , Init:+10 | (Shift (10 ft) 7/7) | Hero Points: 3 | Status: mage armor (4 hrs)

Maidie shakes her head at Elias' question.

"Not at the moment. I have several spells in my spellbook that might work, but I will not be able to prepare and cast them until tomorrow."

Male Dwarf Cleric of Desna 1

"It seems risky to enter water we know nothing about. As nothing can come through this room without the key, perhaps we should investigate the other door today and this tomorrow?"

Half-Elf Druid/1 - hp 9/10 l AC:16 Flat:14 Touch:12 l Fort: 3, Ref: 2, Will: 5 l Per: +9 l Init: +4

Slowly nodding, Elias will agree with Fror, and will begin walking towards the exit of the room with a grunt.

Female human conjurer 4 | HP 33/33 | AC 17/17/13 (21/17/17 w/ mage armor), CMD:12 | Fort: +4, Ref:+6, Will: +8 | Perc: +7 , Init:+10 | (Shift (10 ft) 7/7) | Hero Points: 3 | Status: mage armor (4 hrs)

All right. I'll prepare the nessecary spells tomorrow. In the mean time, exploring the other room sounds good. Maidie says, and moves with the others out to the other door in the entry chamber.

Male Dwarf Cleric of Desna 1

Returning to the main room, Fror mutters "No route through there today" to the rearguard and heads for the other door. "Dart I believe your skill set is what is required next."

Waiting for a better time to continue through the room with the pool, you enter the main hall and check the south-eastern door. Again finding no traps, Dart opens the door.

Once open:This large chamber contains a maze of pillars that obscure the far side of the room. Next to the door is a pile of empty saddlebags and three brooms.

Looking like a rogue gone rogue

Decide which way you wish to go and I will open the map as you continue on.

Half-Elf Druid/1 - hp 9/10 l AC:16 Flat:14 Touch:12 l Fort: 3, Ref: 2, Will: 5 l Per: +9 l Init: +4

In my experience, left is always a good way to go first. Perhaps we should head that direction?
Elias will say to Dart, after some deliberation within himself

Female human conjurer 4 | HP 33/33 | AC 17/17/13 (21/17/17 w/ mage armor), CMD:12 | Fort: +4, Ref:+6, Will: +8 | Perc: +7 , Init:+10 | (Shift (10 ft) 7/7) | Hero Points: 3 | Status: mage armor (4 hrs)

Maidie looks at the brooms suspiciously and casts detect magic again.

Madie, you sense no magical auras

Male Dwarf Cleric of Desna 1

"Left sounds good, what are those bags and brooms about? Should we take them with us?

Female human conjurer 4 | HP 33/33 | AC 17/17/13 (21/17/17 w/ mage armor), CMD:12 | Fort: +4, Ref:+6, Will: +8 | Perc: +7 , Init:+10 | (Shift (10 ft) 7/7) | Hero Points: 3 | Status: mage armor (4 hrs)

"Whatever they are doing here, they do not show any signs of magic. Lets leave them be for now and move carefully forward. Right seems as good a direction as any.

Assuming Madie meant left I'll update the map later thins evening as well as a post

Dart continues leading the group around the left corner and there are two hallways, one leading east the other leading north.perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 Searching for traps

Dart notices a trap to the south east of where he's standing. He attempts to disable it 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13, but is unable to. Does anyone have a piece of chalk to mark this spot?

Current map

Female human conjurer 4 | HP 33/33 | AC 17/17/13 (21/17/17 w/ mage armor), CMD:12 | Fort: +4, Ref:+6, Will: +8 | Perc: +7 , Init:+10 | (Shift (10 ft) 7/7) | Hero Points: 3 | Status: mage armor (4 hrs)

I've got something better than chalk. Maidie says, as she moves up to Dart. She utters an arcane phrase and carefully touches the stones rigth in front of where Dart has found the triggering mechanism. When she withdraws her hand, the word "TRAP" is etched into the floor, along with an arrow pointing forward.

Cast arcane mark

Male Dwarf Cleric of Desna 1

"Left again? Might as well be thorough. Dart if there is a trap that directly stops us going forwards, let me know and Desna may help us"

Dart moves north and comes to another intersection. perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 At the end of the eastern corridor something catches Dart's eye.

As I made your perception check earlier this will go to the 2nd one.

Dart and Maidie hear a muffled moaning or possibly a crying sound. You are unable to tell which direction it's coming from but it doesn't seem to be coming from this room

Male Unrogue HP:19 |AC: 17 | CMD:17 | Fort: +2 | Ref:+7| Will: +3 | Init:+6| perception +10

Derick unsheathes his rapier and blade.

better safe then sorry. Mayhaps more of the walking dead nearby. At least, from what my elven ears can gleam. Wait here.

Dart will stick to the shadows and what little cover from the pillars to be had. As he makes his way down the eastern corridor towards the thing that caught his attention.

stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Whah, whah, whaaaah..

As you move 10 ft down the eastern corridor the floor gives way under you and you fall into a pit. Your landing appears to be a soft one. Roll a Reflex Save DC20 or take nonlethal damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4. Feeling around on the floor you notice that pillows are scattered at the bottom of the pit and its 10 ft. deep.

Male Unrogue HP:19 |AC: 17 | CMD:17 | Fort: +2 | Ref:+7| Will: +3 | Init:+6| perception +10

reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

ow. Guess no one would be able to spot that then.

Hmm looking up dart sheathes his blades and makes a sudden jump grabbing the edge of the pit.

jump: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 that's a 6ft high jump, should be plently for me to grab onto the ledge

Then pulls himself up.

climb: 1d20 ⇒ 19

well, now that that's over. Why are there pillows down there?

Nice work Dart!

Hearing Dart yelling around the corner, the group moves closer to see if he is alright. Just moving things along a little

Dart, I rolled to detect the trap before you responded in game. I used your roll to hear the voice.

Male Unrogue HP:19 |AC: 17 | CMD:17 | Fort: +2 | Ref:+7| Will: +3 | Init:+6| perception +10

I know, darts just bluffing so no one calls him on the mistake.

Gotcha

Half-Elf Druid/1 - hp 9/10 l AC:16 Flat:14 Touch:12 l Fort: 3, Ref: 2, Will: 5 l Per: +9 l Init: +4

It appears whoever wanted you to fall into the trap didn't want you to be terribly injured... Perhaps they feel they need you intact?

Female human conjurer 4 | HP 33/33 | AC 17/17/13 (21/17/17 w/ mage armor), CMD:12 | Fort: +4, Ref:+6, Will: +8 | Perc: +7 , Init:+10 | (Shift (10 ft) 7/7) | Hero Points: 3 | Status: mage armor (4 hrs)

"Hush! Stay alert. Someone is crying close by. Perhaps trapped in another pit, or in the next room somewhere. It could be survivors from the ambush we found at the entrance. We have to keep moving, but carefully."

jump: 1d20 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 8 + 4 = 31

hm. Alright then. I'm going across.

Dart takes a few steps back and runs, he jumps the pit with one hand free. The other holding his blade.

[ooc]Dart make one more perception check

Male Dwarf Cleric of Desna 1

"I'm not much made for jumping, Dart shall we try and come around to you? We 'should' be able to go North and then East and then we will be able to see you again, what do people think?"
