I went with this character specifically because everyone else went with higher-level characters. If we somehow wind up deciding to do the lower Tier, I'd rather shift to a different character.
Tesson
|
Like Sapphire Fox, I don't care much. I have characters in both tiers.
GM Sapphire Fox

1-2 means more people though weaker, 4-5 less people but stronger *shrugs* really depends on how much loot you want to get, after this Artic will be lvl 6 so for me doesn't matter
Tesson
|
so you guys have a average party lvl of 3.6 so we can run the 1-2 or the 4-5 with 4 player adjustment your choice.
Actually it's 3.833 (3+3+4+4+4+5=23/6). And, since there are more melee characters than anything else, I'll vote to stay in high tier. :)

Sorry I haven't made it to the party yet - I've just been feeling depressed, tired, and uninspired, which is all a particularly poor state of mind for this character. I'll make it by Gameday, though.

You come out of that sad closet! And maybe bring Tom Cruise with you.

THE CUMBERBATCH VS CURRY DEBATES! Would you buy the CD???

I should point out that no one has actually ever seen "I'm Hiding In Your Closet" and "DM Amazing Red" in the same physical place together at the same time. Curious no?

Again, my apologies. Post-funeral gathering now and I barely found the time to post this. Please bot me if needed, since I had to deal with the funeral and organisation. I should be able to check on the threads properly and post tomorrow.

My condolences. And I don't think anyone is in such a rush that you couldn't be absent a few days to take care of (and be taken care by) the folks around you.

Hey! I'll be afk until Sunday. Bot Tesson if it need be. Everything's in a header under his profile.

A heads up from me. I'm leaving for the woods later today and I will get back on Sunday. I will probably have my phone only so posting will be slower and a little condensed. Feel free to bot me if necessary.
Tesson

No, it's an option. However, I can riposte only once per turn.
It works this way:
1) An enemy attempts to attack me and makes an attack roll.
2) Tesson may try to parry using a point of panache and thus makes an attack against said enemy.
3a) If the enemy's attack roll is greater than mine, nothing happens, it attacks normally.
3b) If Tesson's attack roll is greater than the enemy's, its attack fails and I may expend an attack of opportunity as an immediate action to riposte.
I choose to use this class feature only once per turn since I have a pretty limited pool of panache and only one attack of opportunity per turn.
In this situation, Tesson tried to parry the first of the four attack aiming him but failed. That's a panache point spent for nothing. :)

In case of you actually dropping, Tesson, do you have an Inflict wand handy? Or any other of our almost-bloodsucking friends, that is.
Tesson
|
Yes I do. :)
Mercutio Menschjaeger
|
@Tesson et al: Your lost soul attacks may need to use YOUR Charisma modifier rather than mine, I'm sorry to say. It's honestly not clear, so up to the DM.

Right, folks. I am leaving today and will be only available via phone until Sunday. Bot me if needed. I may sneak in a post, but it would be very brief and probably badly formatted. Yay for posting from phone!

@Artic Fox: I was just looking at your equipment, and I have to ask: How in the world does a 5th-level character afford all that (and have nearly 8,000 gold left over, no less)???
Tesson
|
*cough cough*
A crow croaks in the distance.
Mercutio Menschjaeger
|
Absalom, we have a problem: If Artic Fox and Benedict could back up, maybe shift to a chessboard pattern or something, that would be very, very helpful.
Abaal Zadeir, Sword of Katapesh
|
Artic, how did you afford an equivalent +3 adamantine weapon (+1 adamantine icy burst nodashi, 21,060 gp) with 5th level fame? Don't you need 36 fame for that? Is it from a chronicle?
Mercutio Menschjaeger
|
I'm also puzzled about how she has the money, as a 5th-level character, for that and everything else she has. My characters around that level range don't have anywhere near as much.
Abaal Zadeir, Sword of Katapesh
|
Well, we recently did away with the inheritance tax here in the States, so there's that. ;)
Possibly she hasn't had to pay for all those potions and other disposable items that poorer non.001%ers like us had to use getting to where we are Remember though neither of us are 5th level yet and she might be 5.2, meaning she could be nearly twice Mercutio's level. I do believe she is a character created with GM credit, but yeah, I'll admit that at a cursory glance there looked like an awful lot of italic going on there. Maybe they are just magic items with very long names?

Apologies for disappearing abruptly. Holiday season and the pleasant responsibilities it brought with have kept me away for a few days.
In any case, I might be slow for the rest of today (Tuesday noon here, in case of timezone confusion), but I will be back in full swing after that.
With that said, I hope you are all enjoying wonderful Holidays of whatever kind you might celebrate, and make the best of it.
