Darius Sindareon |

Death Saving Throw: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Yeesh! 1 Failure, 0 Success. Kick their butts, guys.
Darius looked down at the book on the table, and then to his smiling father.
"What's this?" he asked suspicious.
His father looked hurt. "It -- it's for you. For your tuition at Candlekeep. One rare book."
Darius regarded the tome again and sighed. "Did you steal this?"
"What?! No. I tracked down a seller of rare books--"
"And robbed him?"
"And paid him," his father answered testily.
Darius waited a long moment, before he asked, "And where did you get the money?"
His father cleared his throat uncomfortably.
"I thought so," Daris said with a sigh.
"Darius, please! I -- I know I haven't always been the best father to you. And I know you don't approve of the way I make a living, but -- let me do this for you. Let me give you a chance at a truly respectable life. The one your mother wanted for you. Please."
Darius looked into his father's eyes and saw that he was being genuine. And he nodded.
"Okay, then. I -- well, I guess I'll need to see about hiring a ship to take me to Baldur's Gate then."
His father laughed and hugged him ferociously.

With the half-dragon brought down, Zethaya turns her attention to one of the last two remaining humans still recklessly opposing her company.

Oh there are two left. For some reason I didn't see berserker 2 in the list. But yes, hitting berserker 4 is good. Fixed it, and going to update my HP now.

Death Saving Throw: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Two fails. Zero success. Getting exciting.

"What do you mean, you can't save him!?" Darius yelled at the Cleric of Ilmater. "I specifically hired you to do just that!"
"I am sorry. But you're father isn't poisoned or sick. He seems to be cursed. And the Crying God has not seen fit to break it. This is your father's burden to endure."
Darius looked murderous.
"My father is in so much pain, that he screams out in the middle of the night and loses control of his bladder. He cries tears of blood and coughs up black and bloody chunks of his lungs. That is not a 'burden'- that is torture!"
"Perhaps so. But is clearly not my place to ease his just suffering."
Darius roared and threw his dagger. It landed on the wall inches away from the Cleric's face.
"Get out now. Or I will kill you."

Darius Sindareon |

Hmm. I open up the next round. So I might as well roll now. Because no one could save me anyway. Welp, here we go...
Death Saving Throw: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Whoo, boy! Okay. Darius survives another round. 2 fails. 1 Success.

"Am I doing it right, Dad?"
"Mind your footwork, Darius. And step, and thrust! And step and parry! And step..."

Zatqualmie Burrwaddle |

Yeah I know, but since there is only one enemy I figured not much was gonna change between now and then. If you look at initiative in a multiround sense like this
Initiative
(1)Darius, Ragar, Zatqualmie, Berserker 2, Emyrelda, Rhen, Zethaya (2)Darius, Ragar, Zatqualmie, Berserker 2, Emyrelda, Rhen, Zethaya(3) Darius, Ragar, Zatqualmie, Berserker 2, Emyrelda, Rhen, Zethaya
Then it makes more sense.

Yes, Rhen and Darius are both stable but still unconscious. I'm totally tapped out I'm afraid
"is that really the best that you can do?"
Vicious mockery on the berserker. Will save DC 13 or take damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3 and disadvantage on your next attack

"I think delving deeper is tantamount to suicide at this point. I have used all my magic keeping people up and alive. Without that magic I'm pretty sure that we'd all have been dead. I'm not trying to say that I did more than you, mind. Clearly, without your killing things we'd ALSO have all been dead.
But if we run into anything at this point people start to die."

![]() |

Well the problem is that you have to walk back up the chute in order to leave. At this point your best chance, IMHO, would be to hunker down at the bottom of the chute and hope for no wandering encounters.
There is a chest in the room as well as the berserker's Greataxes, Cyanwrath's splint mail and Greatsword.

Darius Sindareon |

Darius' silk rope and grappling hook are still attached, so actually, escape is doable.

Ragar "Two-Fisted" Coughlin |

Ragar approaches the unconscious Darius, opens his mouth, and pours his last healing potion down his throat.
Healing: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 1) + 2 = 4
After he awakens, Ragar points to the chest.
Wakey, wakey, Darius. We need you to disable the traps on the chest before we rest.

Darius Sindareon |

HP 4/24
Darius shakily wakes up.
"Whazzuh? Ragar?" He looks around blearily. "Did we win? Oh. Good."
Darius takes a moment to gingerly collect his bow and his rapier. Every single movement hurt. He then stretches some of the kinks out. When Ragar points out the traps he nods.
"Of course. Perhaps there is some additional healing magic in there. Just a moment. Master Zatqualmie? Some assistance, if you'd be so kind. And Lady Emyrelda, I believe you could offer some guidance of a more divine nature."
I'm going to assume it's cool for an Aid from Zat, and Guidance from Emyrelda. Discount them if you don't feel they apply, DM. The 1st trap is for movement, the second is for the "forcing" open thing.
