Thin Straw mattresses covered with badly cured furs form small beds that are haphazardly posistioned around the chamber. Rats and smalll lizards scurry thorugh the food scraps and moldly wine skins littering the floor.
There are currently six kobolds and six winged kobolds relaxing in the room.

Darius gives Zat a resigned look.
"There isn't another way. We came down a chute using rope. This is our path," he says grimly.
He takes a deep breath and carefully puts down Zethaya's body.
"We need an ambush. Same as before. Zat, go in and take out an enemy. Than rush back here. We'll catch them by surprise and put them down quickly."
We ambush them in area 9.

Zatqualmie Burrwaddle |

Zat gives everyone a "Who me?" look...but then his small dirty face scrunches up in what you figure might be a look of determination.

Darius Sindareon |

I believe we were waiting for the kobolds to show up and then hit them for surprise attacks. But I guess the ranged folk might as well roll now.
Darius waits patiently, standing a fair business away from the cavern where the kobolds would rush in from. Finally he spots Zat running in. The scholar drew back his bow, picked a shot, held his breath and unleashed a missile.
Aiming at one of the flying ones if they pop out. Otherwise, any Kobold will do.

Longbow vs. Flying Kobold w/ ADV: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Damage w/ sneak attack: 1d8 + 3 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 3 + (1, 6) = 12

Rhen Jaedra |

Rhen waits, ready to ambush the kobolds as they pursue Zat (assuming they do so). He too concentrates on flying opponents. And if Darius's shot doesn't finish his target off, he will fire at that one in an effort to finish it off.
Longbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 If the one he hits is wounded, he can do an additional extra damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8

"Actually, the dragon that attacked Greenest was blue, and those were black dragon eggs. That being said, I vehemently endorse the plan where we get out of here quickly."
Exit the cave as quickly and quietly as possible. We need to meet up with the donkey I tied up several miles from the cavern. And then I suggest we go back to Greenest to rest for the night and bury Zethaya.

Darius Sindareon |

Assuming it's possible, I guess so, yeah. We are pretty beat up. Those fights with Cyanwrath and then the Roper were brutal.

Darius Sindareon |

The group holds a ceremony to honor Zethaya's sacrifice. And then they retire to a local tavern for the night.
Darius puts down 40 gold pieces out of his personal share, and buys three bottles of fine wine, and meals and rooms for everyone.
That actually comes out to 36.5gp. So 40gp is with a tip.
"A toast," Darius says as he raises his glass. "To heroes, to friendship, and to Lady Zethaya! Cheers!"
Darius downs his glass in a single swig.
"Tomorrow we head for Elturel -- those who still wish to go. Personally, I need to see this through."

"A local fellow named Leosin Erlanthur hired us to discover more information about the cult's movememts. We were to meet with him or a fellow by the name of Ontharr Frume in Elturel."

Darius Sindareon |

Darius pulled out his journal and reviewed it to confirm.
"In fact, Leosin is supposed to meet us in Elturel as well. By seeking out Frume, we'll find Erlanthur."

Ragar "Two-Fisted" Coughlin |

Ahhhh, I see, let me know when we plan on leaving in the mornin'. I need to touch base with Bjorn over there at the bar and the keep before leaving my home.
He stands and walks to the tavern keeper.
Bjorn, my friend, I just wanted to let ya know that I am leavin' town with the others to further root out the evil that has plagued Greenest.

Darius Sindareon |

"Ten in the morning," Darius answered Ragar.
"That should give everyone a chance for last minute business. Personally, I know I need to buy a cart for my ass."
We have some treasure to sell, but we might as well wait until we get to Elturel since we might make more money there. Also, and I'm just realizing this, it might be awkward to sell loot in Greenest that might have been plundered here. Just saying.

You travel southeast to the city of Elturel on the River Chionthar. Your route take you back through Greenest, where you stop to make purchases. Nighthill greets you with delight and respect and tells you that before Leosin left town, he bought horses and riding gear for you to speed your journey to Elturel. The horses are being kept at the dealer's stable until you are ready to depart.
From Greenest to Elturel on horse back takes about six days, and you make your journey without incident.
Anything to take care of on the road?

Darius Sindareon |

Riding horses or draft horses? I ask because their stats are different. I'm going to assume draft horses since they're cheaper.
While on the road, Darius asks various members of the expedition to help him with some fencing practice. He had allowed his training to lax over the years, and he was feeling a bit self-conscious.

When the party arrives in Elturel, Darius tries to find the whereabouts of Onthar Frume.
CHA: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19

It says Riding Horses, so go ahead with them.
Elturel, a large, orderly city overlooking the River Chionthar, is filled with merchants, river traders, and farmers' markets. Its most distinguishing feature is a brilliant magical light that hovers avove it, illuminating it day and night. This light is painful to undead and is visibile from almost every corner of Elturgard, appearing from afar as a star or a distant sun.
After talking a brief few moments to a few merchants, Darius is able to ascertain the whereabouts of Leosin and Onthar. The headquarters of the Order of the Guantlet at a tavern called A Pair of Black Antlers.
Frume appears to be a good natured paladin of Torm, He invites the characters to enjoy time in his company. That is if you find continual drinking, arm-wrestling, horseback riding contests sparring, and weapon training to be a good time.
Leosin urges you to impress the man.

Darius Sindareon |

Darius was unsure how impressing Frume would help them thwart the Cult of the Dragon. But he didn't see any harm in it either. Now the only question was what to do.
He was improving as a fencer, but one gauging look at the crowd told him that he would very likely be matched. So that was out. Pulling arms was simply a non-starter. He may have been stronger than he looked, but not that much stronger.
And that's when it hit him.
Darius took a small handful of gold and raised it in the air.
"I bet 5 gold coins, that I can climb a rope faster than anyone in here."
STR (athletics): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
As a thief, Darius can climb at his full speed... Of course, that assumes that I don't roll a natural 1. Wow.

Darius Sindareon |

Shopping time! Okay, after selling everything we have a total of 2,197.5 gp. Each player - thete's for of us now -- receives 549.37 gp.
Ragar, I believe I owe you a potion. ;-)
