You've been waiting for it. We've been working to get it ready. And now it's here! The first playtest documents for the Psionics Guide are ready for download!

This playtest, Signal Confirmed includes the information needed to play our psionic races (as well as how they have fared in the far future), the aegis class, our soulknife archetype for any Starfinder class, and a scattering of psionic feats

Enjoy and please let us know your feedback!

Is there a power armor option for aegis? Or juggernaut is our power armor option.

I can't wait to see what the Starfinder version of the psion is like. The races do look balanced, though. I only read through each one.

Juggernaut + customization and chassis choices would effectively get you power armor.

No problem then and i kinda liked aegis but where is the melee option for it

I posted this on the GiantitP forums already, but I'll leave it here also and see if it has legs:

Is there anything planned for starship combat? Maybe a brand new psionic-themed role to act in the gunnery phase, to debuff enemies or try to cause direct damage, making the bloody thing go faster. I wouldn't mind installing in my ships a psionic crystal energy-focusing thingie to turn psionic talent into damage.

I believe Star Trek had some sort of telepathic character, and Star Wars also played with the idea of force users scanning ships for each other (I think the cartoons or video games also have Jedi striking directly against the ships with their telekinesis).

the only think i would like to note is that Improved Mind Blade [Psionic, Combat] is likely a bit to linear in damage growth a lower levels when compared to Solarian's Solar Weapon. Not sure on really math here or if you want it to be better then solar weapon. just noteing a conflict in growth rate.

Good to have some free confirmed signal Psionic playtestin' stuff for Starfinder out there. ;)

Well, you guys have given us a lot of good feedback, and we've listened. For my part, I'm here to tell you about some of the new changes to the Aegis, which are now live on the linked doc. More updates will be Coming Soon (TM).

Changelog:
-Added a line stating that the level of the astral suit is equal to the aegis’ level.
-Added to clarification text – whenever you spend 10 minutes to regain Stamina, you can adjust each of your astral suits.
-Adjusted craftsman heavily. This version interacts better with SF crafting, and should be less confusing overall. Adjusted archetype replacement rules to match.
-Adjusted Air and Ground modes to remove attack bonus. Instead, these have been replaced with similar effects that both illustrate theater superiority and balance better in the long run.
-Adjusted Astral Vision to possess a specific type of blindsense. Also removed redundant and inaccurate rules text.
-Cut Improved Damage, Nimble, and Brawn.
-Adjusted the bonus values on Chameleon and Frightful Presence.
-Assorted formatting changes and wording shifts.

Hello folks!

Mind Blade and Improved Mind Blade have been updated.
>The damage has been recalculated to mesh better with the weapons in the game
>Action to draw has been changed from standard to normal for drawing other weapons (move or part of a move),
>They now always target KAC
>Wording has been smoothed out and clarified
>Improved Mind Blades can now count as being a part of a weapon group as long as their damage type is appropriate for it.

VERY slight wording changes in Soulknife to account for these changes, as well.

Just a note. Fusion seals don't become active until they have been affixed for 24hrs. This seems like a long time to have to manifest a mindblade before getting any benefit.

another note is that it might be easier to let mind-blades use solaria weapon crystals as currently you are behind advanced weapons by quite a bit at the higher levels. also this lets you balance the cost and level of the mind blade for the point of fusions.

While we continue to tweak the material in part one, I'm proud to present part two, Encryption Decoded, featuring the Specialist class, our first release of psionic powers, and some additional skill uses and feats.

Mess my whole life up y'all.

...Welp. I'll bring this to internal.

Good to have some free encoded playtest'n encryptionary stuff out there for SF too. ;)

Concerning the Elans. The race has 3 out of 5 abilites that ouright depend on them having psi-points (thankfully they get 2 from the get-go). As such I wonder if the "mind of over matter" ability might be a little costly (no need for food and water for 24 hours) unless you are psionic class. What if the ability allowed the Elan to be breathless (like the Android) as well (for 24 hours)

Will the Elan Resistance ability grow with lvl (say +3 at lvl 10) or will it always be +2 (I remember it was +4 in PF).

The issue with Elans could be solved by changing the way the Psionic Talent feat works in regard to naturally psionic races. For everyone else it would grant 2 pp, but for psionic races it would also give an additional pp at every level above first.

Another alternative is to change the way bonus power points are gain.
Rather than be dependent upon manifester level anyone with a pp pool would gain bonus pp based on character level and their highest mental ability score(if high enough), regardless of whether it is the key ability score for any of their classes.

The Mind Blade should also allow for a stun option to be added for those bounty hunters who may want to take their targets alive. Also if the Aegis's astral suit grants the same environmental protection as normal armor does it have the same limits on duration?

Am I reading this right? The Mind Blade doesn't take any power points to manifest, so it's basically a free level-appropriate weapon that only costs a feat to get? That seems really powerful, especially in a game where buying new gear is one of the main ways damage scales. One feat adds up to 100s of thousands of extra credits over the average adventuring career.

Mind blades also seem way more powerful than similar operative weapons or small arms that cost credits. I think having a different scaling table for melee, operative melee, and small arms would work out a lot better.

So, what about atstreidi and power armor? How does it work?

Has there been any news about this book? Last kickstarter update was close to 2 months ago.

I haven't seen or heard anything about this. It seems to have fallen away into the vast. Probably into a dark hole, I was hoping for something spectacular and new.

Check over at their Giants in the playground thread they have been posting updates to their playtest over there.

Liberty's Edge

Which thread? I am a backer and totally forgot that I even backed this project.

this thread.

They do need to give a update for the kickstarter though.

Are there any updates on this project? I missed the kickstarter, but I'm interested in picking up the book once it is released.

They posted the Psion for playtest this week:

Psion

Psionic Powers

I feel this project may be in need of resurrecting.

I hope not, I am a kickstarter backer haha.
